The direction in which an object moves is given by the direction of velocity of the object and not by the direction of
acceleration. Explain the above statement with some suitable example.

Km/H And The Last One Third At A Speed Of 60 Km/H. Determine The Average Speed Of The Car Over The Entire

From the top of a tower a ball is dropped to fall freely under gravity and at the same time, another ball is thrown up
with a velocity of 50 m/s. Plot the position time graph for the motion of the two balls during the time interval t=0 to
t=5s. Take g=10ms-2.

A rocket is fired vertically and ascends with a constant vertical acceleration. In the duration of 5 s, it attains an
upward velocity of 150 m/s. After 5 s, its engine stops functioning and rocket continues to move as a free particle and
finally returns on the earth.From the velocity time graph of the rocket, calculate (i) the height reached by the rocket
during the period of burning of fuel (g=10ms-2); (ii) maximum height reached by the rocket and (iii) the acceleration

A body leaving a certain point O moves with an acceleration, which is constant in magnitude and direction. At the end
of the fifth second, its velocity is 1.5 m/s. At the end of the sixth second, the body stops and then begins to move
backwards.
(i) Find the distance travelled by the body, before it stops.
(ii) Determine the velocity with which the body returns to point O. [Ans. (i) 27 m (ii) 9 m/s]

The position of an object moving along X-axis is given by
x = a + bt2where a = 8.5 m, b= 2.5 ms-2 and t is measured in seconds. What is velocity at t = 0 and t =2 s? What is
