DIN 1026-1:2009-09
Foreword
This standard has been prepared by Subcommittee 21/6 Warmgewalzte Profilerzeugnisse of the
Normenausschusses Eisen und Stahl (FES) (Iron and Steel Standards Committee).
DIN 1026 consists of the following parts under the general title Hot-rolled steel channels:
Part 1: Taper flange steel channels Dimensions, masses and sectional properties
Part 2: Parallel flange steel channels Dimensions, masses and sectional properties
Amendments
This standard differs from DIN 1026-1:2000-03 and DIN 1026-1 Corrigendum 1:2002:11 as follows:
a)
The standard has been editorially revised and normative references updated.
Figure 1 has been corrected so that the dimension ey describes the distance of the outer edge of the
channel from its y-y axis.

DIN 1026-1:2009-09
Scope
This standard applies to hot-rolled steel channels with taper flanges with a height between 30 mm and
400 mm, made from steel grades as specified in clause 6.
The standard does not apply to steel channels with parallel flanges, which are covered by DIN 1026-2.
Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated
references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced
document (including any amendments) applies.

4.1 Hot-rolled taper flange (tapered) channels shall be delivered with the dimensions and section properties
according to Table 1.
4.2
4.3 The masses per unit length specified in Table 1 were calculated on the basis of a density of
7,85 kg/dm3.
Material
Channels covered by this standard shall preferably be made of one of the steel grades specified in
DIN EN 10025-2 to DIN EN 10025-5. The desired steel grade shall be specified at the time of ordering.
