My name is Muhammad Asyraf Bin Shahrom, I am currently studying in

University Malaysia Pahang. I am very glad to have the opportunity to apply for
studying in School of Mechanical engineering Ningxia University as an exchange
student. I was live in small town called Simpang Pertang. My parents are
shopkeeper and they have small shop at our village. I have one sister, one
younger sister and one brother. I like to watch documentaries about how it
made and do it yourself during my free time. It does not just only watch, then
I will try to apply that I watch and build it together with my friends. Still
remember when I was 15 years old entered for the Enovation competition and
win the first place. From that moment, my ambition to be an engineer become
strong. Because of hard life that we need to faced, I was decided to study hard
and be an good engineer like my uncle. So that, when I become an engineer, I
will help my family to get better life.
After graduating from technical high school, I worked at factory near of my
home for a three month. I was learnt how to handle the machine industry such as
lathe and milling machine supervise by another experienced operator. As we all
know, mechanical engineering plays a very important role in the national
economy, which is concerned to many fields, such as general engineering,
aeronautical, chemical and nuclear engineering and provides a sufficient room of
choices for me to realize the dream of becoming a mechanical engineer. With
this fact in mind, I decided to choose mechanical engineering as the major field
to study for both my undergraduate and graduate study in University Malaysia
Pahang. I was started my studies in Diploma of mechanical engineering at UMP
for two years and half. After graduated, I got the best result and was offered to
continue my studies in bachelor of mechanical engineering at the same
university by following a programme called direct entry which is students are
studying in diploma can continue the bachelor without need to wait for a one
years gap. It is beneficially for me to save my years of studies. During nearly
four years of study in University Malaysia Pahang, I have learned a total of 20
basic courses, 18major courses in diploma and 5 basic courses, 28 major course
in bachelor, I also learned how to use Auto CAD and Solidworks to express
parts of mechanisms, and I have passed the exam of CAD and got the best
result.
Moment that I can forget is when I took for a Final Year project course. I
was given a task to fabricate a test rig that can conduct the experiment about

vibration. I was learnt many things such as how to manage the time, handle the
advance machine such as computer numerical control (CNC) and how to be a
good leader. The best is, until now my test rig still be using for students in UMP
to learn about vibration system. These experiences make me more curious in
mechanical engineering. It is well-known that NXU is famous engineering
university to develop my carrier in mechanical engineering. If I can get the
admission of NXU, I want to learn more about mechanical engineering sector and
their system in China and the culture of China. I hope that NXU can give me
chance to continue my studies and develop my knowledge in mechanical
engineering for my future life.
