PRE-INTERNSHIP FIELD EXPERIENCE


October-present Field Placement at Chippewa Middle School, Okemos MI, 4 hrs/week
Planned, taught, and analyzed social studies lessons for a eighth grade History class.
Observed English lessons for a sixth grade English class.
Maintained a reflective journal based on classroom observations and experiences

September 2008-December 2008 Field Placement at Gardner Middle School, Lansing, 4 hrs/week
Observed classroom management strategies and helped students finish assignments in a
sixth grade resource room class.
Gained knowledge about teaching and working with special needs students.
Analyzed teacher practices, my own experiences and conversations with faculty and
students to consider what I want to utilize in my future classrooms and how to best
incorporate special need students in mainstreamed classrooms.

PERSONAL INTERESTS
My interests and hobbies include being involved in various activities, soccer, traveling, and reading
all types of literature. I played soccer and tennis at Plymouth High School. I also really enjoyed my
high school’s student government. I would like to eventually become an advisor for my future high
school’s student government program.
