Introduction
Gross Domestic Product or GDP
Gross domestic product in a economy is defined as the market value of all the final
goods and services delivered in a country in a period of one year. GDP is a important
measure or indicator of economic progress in a country. GDP is very closely related to
another measure of economy the Gross national product. GNP is different from GDP in
that it stands for market value of total output in a country produced by citizens of that
country within a period of one year. The major difference between the two is the input
quantity of each measure. GDP includes all goods and services produced in a country
irrespective of the nationality of the firms or citizens producing such goods. Gross
national products will include all goods produced by the nationals irrespective of their
geographical location in the globe.

PER CAPITA INCOME


A measure of the amount of money that is being earned per person in a certain area.
Income per capita can apply to the average per-person income for a city, region or
country and is used as a means of evaluating the living conditions and quality of life in
different areas. It can be calculated for a country by dividing the country's national
income by its population.

Analysis
From the table of various states growth rate and per capita income we can observe
that:The average growth rates (from 2005-06 to 2013-14) of Net State Domestic Product
and Per Capita Net State Domestic Product of various states are as follow:

From the above table we can observed that Bihar has maximum economic
growth and maximum economic development as Bihar has maximum average
Net State Domestic Product that is 19.29% and maximum average Per Capita
Net State Domestic Product that is 17.57%. Bihars average rate of increase in
goods and services producing ability is highest and so people get benefited from
it as their Per capita Income has increased over the years.
Goa has the lowest Per Capita Net State Domestic Product that is 10.08% so it
can be said that per capita income of people in Goa is lowest.
Jharkhad has the lowest Average Net State Domestic Product that is 13.61% so
it can be said that growth of Jharkhand is lowest in goods and services producing
ability.
Excluding Bihar and Madhya Pradesh all other states have shown a decrease in
their growth rate as compared to previous year starting from 2010-11 to 2013-14.

From the above it can be said that Bihar has gained the highest percentage
increase in Net State Domestic Product i.e. 381.79% from 2004-05 to 201314. So it can be said economic growth in Bihar is highest.
While Goa has gained the lowest percentage increase in Net State Domestic
Product i.e. 171.73% from 2004-05 to 2012-13. So Goas economic growth is
lowest.
Maharashtras Net State Domestic Product is highest, i.e. 1239104/- Crore
(2012-13), so the economic performance of it is best and its contribution to
nations GDP is highest.
While, the Net State Domestic Product of Chhattisgarh is lowest, i.e. 151023/Crore (2013-14), so the economic performance of its is lowest.

From the above table we can say that Bihar has highest increase in Per Capita
Net State Domestic Product, i.e. 322.78%. Peoples standard of living and
lifestyle will be improve by economic growth.
Whereas, in Goa it is Lowest, i.e. 110.17%. So Peoples standard of living and
lifestyle will be less accordingly.
The per capita net state domestic product of Bihar is lowest for the year
2013-14. It is 2.40% of total per capita net state domestic product.
Though slow rate of increase in Per Capita Net State Domestic Product of Goa,
the per capita income in Goa is highest i.e. Rs. 161822/-. It contributes
11.60% of total per capita net state domestic product.
