USLS JPIA Sportsfest 2015

Rules and Regulations

Sportsfest 2015 will be competed by 4 teams: BABA4, BABA3 and the BABA2s. BABA2 A & B will
be in one team while BABA2 C & D will form another team.

Games to be played are Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Field, Tug of War, Chess, Badminton
and Dodgeball.

Single round eliminations will be observed. Pairings will be drawn during the opening
ceremonies and will be followed for all games.

Battle for 3rd games will depend on time constraints.

Color coding must be strictly followed for jerseys/shirts. BABA4 Black


BABA3 Blue
BABA2 A & B Red
BABA 2 C & D - Green

Corresponding penalties will be implemented if not followed.

Game schedules (to be posted soon) must also be strictly followed. Lack of players for the game
would automatically mean forfeiture.

30 points will be awarded for the champions of Basketball Men and Women, Volleyball and
Dodgeball. 20 points for the 1st runner-up, 15 points for the 2nd runner-up and 10 points for the
3rd runner-up.

For Chess, Badminton and Tug of War, 20 points for the champions, 15 points for the 1st
runner-up, 10 points for the 2nd runner-up and 5 points for the 3rd runner-up.

*Track and Field events will be awarded with separate points.

Referees/Officials calls would be final and irrevocable. Complaints wouldnt be entertained.

Full participation is highly encouraged.

Observe sportsmanship, play hard and enjoy!

Guidelines and Mechanics


Basketball Mens

Games are to be played 5 v 5.


Amateur basketball rules are to be followed except for the time.
Games are to be played with 2 halves, 12 minutes running time for each half. 5 minutes
break in between halves.
Minimum of 7 players per team.
Stoppage of time will be observed for the 2nd half of the Championship game.

Basketball Womens

Games are to be played 3 v 3.


Two 8-minute running time halves with 4 minutes break in between halves.
One freethrow is allowed for every foul beyond penalty.
Clearball rule is to be followed.
All basketball rules are to be followed except for excessive travelling and double dribble.
Minimum of 4 players per team.
Stoppage of time will be observed for the last 4 minutes of the Championship game.

Volleyball Mixed

Games are to be played 6 v 6.


General volleyball rules are to be followed.
Games will observe best of three sets, race to 12 for the first and second sets. While
race to 15 for the deciding set (if needed) will be observed.
Minimum of 7 players per team.
For the championship game, race to 15 for all sets.

Badminton Mixed

4 players in each team composed of two boys and two girls.


General badminton rules are to be followed.
1st game will be mens singles, 2nd game will be womens singles.
In case of a tie, a mixed game will be played.
Each game will be played with one set, race to 21. Mixed games will be race to 15.

Chess Mixed

Each team will have 3 players each regardless of gender.


General chess rules will be followed.
All 3 games will be played simultaneously
The team with 2 wins will advance.

Tug of War Mens and Womens

Separate games will be played for mens and womens.


7 players for each team.
General tug of war rules are to be followed.

*Track and Field Mens and Womens

Event will depend on the availability of the track oval.


Separate games will be played for mens and womens.
100, 200 and 400 meter runs will be played. One player per event.
Mixed team relay (2 boys and 2 girls) will be played as well.
General track and field rules are to be followed.
For the 100, 200 and 400 meter runs, 5 points will be awarded for the 1st finisher, 3
points for the 2nd, 2 points for the 3rd and 1 point for the 4th.
Team relay winners will be awarded with 10 points, 2nd will have 7 points, 3rd will have 5
points and 4th will have 3 points.

Dodgeball Mixed

Members who havent participated in other sports are highly encouraged to join.
Each team will have 15 players, 7 boys and 8 girls.
General dodgeball rules are to be followed.
