REACTION PAPER
As a person who loves astronomy so much, I pretty much liked the documentary. I
always go crazy when I think about outer space. I have so many questions and they are remain
unanswered like are we alone? Which I already concluded myself before that we really are not
because I believe that there are other life forms out there which I as a person can think of
anything like how they look like? Hello? The universe is so big and anythings possible. Nothing
is impossible, they always say. Whats the shape of their world or planet? I know Im not alone
when it comes to thinking of alternate universe or parallel universe which I really find amazing.
Like I am free to imagine their looks and how they run their government or state. Bizarre and
funny, but Im serious here. I wonder if theyre thinking the same thing or asking themselves the
same thing: What is out there? Are we alone?
The Story of Science: What Is Out There which I just watched was greatly produced
documentary about how we exactly came to understand our planet, Earth, was not the center of
everything in the universe or of the solar system. I liked how they introduced the scientist or
whoever are those person responsible to our conclusion that our planet is really not the center of
the universe, afterwards, theyre telling stories about that person or about their personal life
which Im not sure if its true, Im always skeptical when it comes to those kind of things. I think
all I need is a further research which Im looking forward to in the future. Anyhow, the
documentary presents briefly the extent of human achievements when it comes to outer space
especially planets. How they come up with that the Sun is definitely the center of the solar
system and not the Earth. They went from making theories to inventing instruments to support
their own theories and how to justify it. The narrator even said that Copernicus is often hailed as
the man who changed our vision of the universe forever.
Amazing, isnt it? That this generation no longer have to undergo these kind of
experiments except making their own imaginations or discoveries about which really is the
center of the universe. All they or we have to do is discover the rest of our universe and now
were getting there where were about to understand the planet, Mars, better and attempt to live
there for I-dont-know-how-many years. Thanks to these scientists, astronomers or all the people
responsible for clearing everything and enlightening us about the basic and complex things about

our solar system. Without them, probably, our generations is still struggling with finding the
answer to our question: What is out there?
