ApplicantsfortheInternationalTeacherCertificate(ITC)willbeexperiencedteachers,preferablywithteaching
qualificationsandaminimumoftwoyears'experienceinaninternationalschool.Ifanyinformationinthe
TeacherApplicationFormisuntrueoriftheapplicantwithholdsanyrelevantinformation,thismayleadtothe
applicationbeingrejectedor,ifalreadyacceptedintotheITCProgram,theparticipant'swithdrawal.ECIS
reservestherighttorefuseapplicants'admissionintotheprogram.
ApplicantsfortheITCareexpectedtoadheretotheethicalguidelinesandadoptedpoliciesoftheirschool.
Theywillhonourtheircontractualemploymentagreementsandthelawsandregulationsoftheirhostcountry.
Unethicalprofessionalbehaviouronthepartofanapplicantcouldresultinwithdrawalfromtheprogram.
ParticipantsmustattendanITCInstituteheldinavarietyoflocationsthroughouttheyear.

Allfeesmustbepaidinfullbeforecommencingthecourse.ThefeeincludesanassessmentfeetoUniversityof
CambridgeInternationalExaminationsforevaluationofeachofthefivestandards,thefacetofaceITCInstitute
(excludingtravelandaccommodation)plusaccesstothededicatedECISITCwebsitehostingtheVirtualLearning
Environment(VLEandallthecomponentstherein)whichissupervisedbytheITCCourseLeader.
TheITCproducesarichbodyofresearchandexamplesofauthenticandusefulschoolbasedpractice.TheECIS
DeputyExecutiveDirectorandtheITCCourseLeaderwantpermissiontoreviewcompletedITCworkthatmight
beutilisedinthefollowingways:
1.SuggestingarticlesthatITCteachersmightwriteforanacademicjournalssuchastheInternationalSchools
Journal,ISMagazine,orotherinternationaleducationpublicationsbasedonyourITCexperienceoraparticular
ITCstandard.Alternatively,wemayliketodrawingfromyourITCworktowriteacompositearticledrawnfrom
severalITCteachers(forexample,ModelsofTeacherLedLanguageWorkshops,orIntergenerationExtra
CurricularActivitiesthatEngageInternationalSchoolStudentswithHostCountrySeniorCitizens).
2.ExamplesofworkthatECISmightuseforarticles,oratconferencesandseminarstopromoteorexplainthe
ITC.
3.QuotesthatpromotetheITCsuchasontheITCwebsiteorinpromotionalleaflets.
4.ToprovideexamplesofworkfortheITCVLE.
5.ItispossiblethatthebuildingbodyofITCworkmaydrawtheinterestofgraduatestudentsdoingresearchin
thefield.
*6.InternationalBaccalaureateLevel1TeacherAwardisissuedbytheInternationalBaccalaureateOffice(IBO).
ThecandidatemayapplyforthisbysubmittinganapplicationandrequisitefeetotheIBOuponreceiptof
confirmationfromECISthattheteacherhascompliedwiththeagreedITC/IBL1requirementsandhas
successfullycompletedtheITC.
