EXT. SNOWY FIELD - DAY

SARAH CONNOR (19), dressed in goggles and make-shift winter

clothes, trecks across the blizzardy landscape.
SARAH (V.O.)
Nuclear winter. The end of the world.
Judgement Day for the human race.
2

EXT. SNOWY FIELD, EMBANKMENT - DAY

She drops to her knees and carefully unwraps a folded cloth,

revealing a perfectly intact SILVER TERMINATOR NEURAL NET
PROCESSOR (resembles a Hershey bar).
SARAH (V.O.)
That's what happens when a
supercomputer called Skynet achieves
sentience and decides to wipe
everyone out.
(beat)
Or at least it tries.
Using a rock she SMASHES the chip to pieces.
3

INT. JEEP - DAY

Sarah throws her pack onto the passenger seat.
SARAH (V.O.)
The people it couldn't kill with
bombs, it hunts down with advanced
robots called, "Terminators."
She climbs in. Shuts the door. Grabs keys from the sunvisor.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
Nearly indestructable killing
machines, they tore through the
resistance with ease.
She starts the engine.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
But humanity would not be so easily
defeated.
(beat)
Finding the war no longer in their
favor, the machine army turned to an
alternative strategy.

2.
Sarah checks her watch.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
If they couldn't defeat their enemy
in the present, they would fight
their defenseless ancestors in the
past.
Sarah removes her goggles revealing a beautiful young woman.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
They went after the weak.
4

EXT. SNOWY ROAD - DAY

Sarah dumps the tiny pieces of SILVER TERMINATOR BRAIN on

the road and peels out.
SARAH (V.O.)
Like so many pieces of junk littered
on the highway, Skynet flung endless
Terminators back in time to prevent
my unborn son, John, future leader of
all people, from being born.

INT. JEEP - DAY

Driving. Determined.
SARAH (V.O.)
Always trying to shoot, maim, and
kill their targets, the machines
proved short on ideas. Guns. Always
guns. But then a clever notion
occured. What if, instead of guns,
the machines came back bearing roses?
(beat)
That's how I found myself dating two
killer robots from the future.
Sarah smiles.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
My name is Sarah Connor and I'm the
most interesting person you'll meet
all day.

EXT. SNOWY ROAD - DAY

Sarah ZOOMS off down the road. Snow whips across the road
filling the screen. The TERMINATOR THEME MUSIC SWELLS
until...

INT. JEEP - DAY

24

Sarah, from earlier, winter warrior mode, drives.

SARAH (V.O.)
Nuclear winter. The end of the world.
Judgement day.
(beat)
Please.

EXT. FARMHOUSE, BARN - DAY

25

The jeep pulls up and Sarah gets out.

SARAH (V.O.)
The time machine worked perfectly,
sending me back to the fities where I
could live out my life long dream of
becoming a famous singer, all the
while prosteltizing the gospel of our
future war with machines.
(beat)
If Terminators were coming no matter
what, I was going to make damn sure
people were ready.
(beat)
My plan wasn't without complications.
She pulls open the barn doors. Steps in.
26

INT. BARN

26

Cavernous and dark. She takes off her winter gear and pack.
SARAH (V.O.)
I didn't travel through time alone. I
had two, broken, brainless,
Terminators in tow. Story of my life.
INSERT SHOT: The T-1000 grabbing her leg as she jumped back
in time.
Sarah sets another folded cloth and opens it revealing the
broken T-800 CPU.
She ventures deeper into the barn to reveal the T-1000,
inert, chained to a post.
She steps towards the inert T-1000.

25.
She inserts the CPU into the T-1000.
SARAH (V.O.) (cont'd)
The T-800 said the T-1000 was a
prototype terminator. Maybe if I put
the T-800's brain in the T-1000's
body, it can fix it.
He stirs to life.
Sarah keeps her distance.
Sa-rah?

T-1000

She can't believe it worked.

Woah.

SARAH

INT. KITCHEN - BRIGHT SUNNY DAY

Sarah sits across from the T-1000/800.
T-800
What year is it?
1984.

SARAH

T-800
And my body?
SARAH
I maybe, sort of, ripped the head off
and left it behind in the 50's.
(beat)
I was trying to warn the world about
terminators!
(beat)
But the 50's were a drag. Who knew
they hated women so much. When I told
everybody about Judgement Day the
Army wanted to lock me up and dissect
my brain. So I used the time machine
and came back home, but home is not
home. It's like they haven't invented
anything smarter than a toaster in 30
years.

SARAH (cont'd)
No video games, no microwaves, no
cordless phones, no malls, no credit
cards.
T-800
April 12th, 1961. Yuri Gagarin pilots
the worlds first manned space flight?
Beats me.

SARAH

T-800
1968. Douglas Engelbart demonstrates
the first human computer interface at
Menlo Park in San Francisco
California?
SARAH
I have no idea?
T-800
Febuary 6th, 1982. Leo Daniels of
Carolina Beach scores 40,101,910
points on Asteroids
SARAH
I know that one! Never happened.
T-800
These are all key moments in human
history that lead to the creation of
SKYNET. Without them it can't exist.
(beat)
Your plan was successful. Without
SKYNET there can be no war.
SARAH
Yeah but it sucks! I don't want to
live in world with no Yuri whatever
or where we don't go to the moon. A
world with no Olivia Newton-John! We
need to fix things.
T-800
But how? The time-machine?
SARAH
Too dangerous. Besides I smashed the
T-1000's brain-thingy. Do you, do you
think you can invent all this stuff?
Like computers, and space ships.

27.

Perhaps.

T-800

SARAH
We need technology. It never made
sense to me why a computer would want
to kill us, unless it wanted to BE
us. So maybe the best way to prevent
Judgement Day isn't to get rid of
technology, but be better people. And
I can't think of a better person to
do it but you, a terminator.
A BABY cries off screen. An akward moment betwen them.
SARAH (cont'd)
You said back in the motel that you
were exactly like a regular person,
physicaly, in every way.
T-800
That's impossible.
Is it?
Unlikely.

SARAH
T-800

SARAH
Not the same thing as impossible.
T-800
What's his name?
SARAH
John. Had a better ring to it than
Cyberdyne Systems T-800 Terminator,
Junior.
They both stand and move in for a kiss.
SARAH (cont'd)
Let's not get carried away. We have a
lot of work to do.
They kiss. The End. 'Carried Away' by Olivia Newton-John
plays.
