Resolution to Define and Appoint School Board Liaisons from Existing Sanggunian Officers
in the Absence of School Board Chairpersons

A resolution to create liaisons to discharge the executive functions of the School Board Chairperson of SOH, SOM and SOSS until
such the time that School Board Chairpersons or Secretary-Treasurers are duly elected or appointed.

Whereas, the Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral ng mga Paaralang Loyola ng Ateneo de Manila is founded on the
principles of representation, participatory democracy, accountability, decentralization, consultation, and efficient
and effective service towards the holistic formation of the Atenean;1
Whereas, last February 26, 2015, Ateneo COMELEC released the official results of the 2015 Sanggunian
General Elections to the Loyola Schools student body;2
Whereas, the position of SOH Chairperson, SOM Chairperson, and SOSS Chairperson were unable to reach the
quota of 367, 1115 and 940 respectively due to receiving only 342, 1052 and 810 undergraduate student votes
respectively3, resulting to a failure of elections and consequently, vacancies in the said positions;
Whereas, the Sanggunian recognizes that certain functions of School Board Chairpersons, such as being the
official spokesperson of the School Board to the Dean of their respective schools and others functions4 are
necessary for the continued functioning of the School Board and of the institution;
Whereas, the Sanggunian recognizes that the absence of the Chairperson entails the absence of a liaison to the
Dean, the absence of executive representation of the students of the school to the Dean and other offices, and
the restriction of the School Board from planning and executing their projects;
Whereas, the Sanggunian recognizes Ejay R. Domingo as the current SOH DIA Chairperson, and previous 2nd
Year BFA CW block representative and 1st year BFA CW officer-in-charge block representative;
Whereas, the Sanggunian recognizes Richard Allen C. Tee as the current 4th Year SOM Executive Officer,
previous 3rd Year BS ME officer-in-charge course representative, and previous 1st Year BS ME block
representative;
Whereas, the Sanggunian recognizes Dasha Marice S. Uy as the current 3rd Year AB DIP IR course
representative, and previous 2nd Year and 1st Year AB DIP IR block representative;
Wherefore, be it resolved that the Sanggunian shall create positions headed by existing Sanggunian officers,
tasked with fulfilling the executive responsibilities and duties of the School Board Chairperson in his/her
absence, including but not limited to those aforementioned;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that these positions shall be called the SOH School Board Liaison, SOM
School Board Liaison and the SOSS School Board Liaison;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the School Board Liaison is not the School Board Chairperson, and as
such does not have certain powers that duly elected Chairpersons possess, which will be defined as follows:

Wherefore, be it further resolved that the School Board Liaison shall be the official spokesperson of the School
Board to the Dean and other offices;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the School Board Liaison shall represent the School Board to Central
Board meetings;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the School Board Liaison shall facilitate the meetings within the School
Board, and head the planning and execution of the School Boards projects;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the School Board Liaison does not have legislative powers outside of those
aforementioned;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the School Board Liaison does not have the ability to appoint Executive
Officers and Central Board Representatives;5
Wherefore, be it further resolved that the mandate of the School Board Liaisons shall last until the seats of the
SOH, SOM and SOSS Chairpersons or Secretary-Treasurers are filled by officers duly elected or appointed into
position;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that upon the dissolution of the School Board Liaisons, they shall transition
their functions to the duly elected or appointed Chairperson or Secretary-Treasurer of the School Board;
Wherefore, be it further resolved that Ejay R. Domingo shall be appointed as the SOH School Board Liaison,
Richard Allen C. Tee shall be appointed as the SOM School Board Liaison, and Dasha Marice S. Uy as the SOSS
School Board Liaison;
Wherefore, be it finally resolved that, with the approval of the Central Board by a simple majority vote, this
resolution shall take effect immediately.

5Vacancies in the Liaison Officer and Central Board Representative positions shall still be filled by the School Boards
block/course representatives at large by electing an officer-in-charge amongst themselves. Representatives that have been
selected will not enjoy succession rights.
