Students will be able to explain the crossing over process and synapsis process in prophase I.
Students should be able to state the term in the prophase I like bivalent, chiasmata, crosssing over, synapsis, maternal and

Macro Teaching Reflection
I have done my macro teaching on Thursday, 13 September 2007. My partner and I was the first group that presented on that
day. I started my macro teaching session at 8.35p.m until 9.15p.m. Generally, there have a lot of improvement than the microteaching
that I have been done before. In this macro teaching, my partner and I was improved our teaching aid like our picture from a small and
not clearly picture to become a large picture.
I have conducted two sessions, which is the introduction session and the application session. The introduction session was
done very well when I asked students prior knowledge about the reproduction cell or gametes cells and I also asked them about their
previous lesson on haploid and diploid term.
The application session also was done very well. I used the activity by using Mahjong paper and two color of straws and I have
been sticks these straw on the Mahjong paper. I used two color of straw because I want to show my students a different of
chromosomes which is paternal and maternal chromosomes in the same homologous chromosomes. I also want to show them the
process of crossing-over and synapsis that occur in Prophase I very clear and make them understand the process very well. I gave one
Mahjong paper for each group. After that, I want them to write down their explanations on the Mahjong paper. When all groups have
been finished their task, I asked any volunteer to present their task in front of the class. After that, I gave a souvenir to the presenter as
a positive reinforcement to her and others. Then, she will sit down. At this part, Miss Siti was advised me that, the teacher have to give
an extra or added some explanation when the students was presented their idea or answers. So, students will get the right answer from
the teacher and no misconception among the students. Students also will understand more when the teacher was repeated the answers
once again.
This weakness might be happened because I have less experience in teaching skills. I have to improve my teaching skills
especially when I have to teach in practicum after this.
While Dr. Maria was commented that my voice are very soft and sometimes she will not hear clearly. She wants me to improve
my voice and speak loudly. I think that, when I was doing my macro teaching session, I have been shouted to improve my voice but
still not very clear. So, I have to improve my voice when I was teaching later especially when I was doing my practicum.
If the teachers have a very soft voice, the effect might be occurred to the students. The teacher also cannot reach their learning
objective during the teaching and learning processes. Although the teacher have been taught with a full dedicated but when the voice
are not clear when teaching, the teaching and learning processes are fail.
So, if I want to be an excellent teacher after this, I have to improve my voice and improve my teaching skills. I think, I have to
more practice to improve my voice and teaching skills. Maybe I can practice it in front of the mirror to see my action when I was
teaching and it will help me to improve my skills after this.
Reflection
During the macroteaching session, I had found some weakness in myself. The most obvious weakness is the usage of my English
language. At certain time, I was doing grammatically error in my sentences. Im still feel that Im not too good in delivered my
teaching in English. Im need to improve my speaking skill. Beside that, Im still cant talk in front of the class without the proper
script because without the script, its easy for me to lost my word.
I think that the cause of my weakness in my English language is Im not practice to speak in English in my daily life . I only try to
speak in English when doing the practice with my partner before macroteaching session. Im also not reading too much the English
newspaper, magazine or other reading material in English. Im also not confident to speak in English because my English vocabulary
is still not adequate for me to speaking fluent in English.
As a teacher, I know that this problem might give the effect when delivered the content in the class. Nowadays, all the science and
mathematic teacher need to teach in English during the class. So, if Im not doing something to improve my English language, I think
that Im in trouble. Beside mastered the content, the most important thing also is I had to be prepared of teaching skill. Moreover, to
have the good teaching skill, I have to be confident when teaching in English.
The best way for me to avoid this problem is reading more English material everyday. Beside that, I also need to try speaking in
English with my friends.
I need to do improved my English language start from now. So, when going to school for practical, my confident level to teach in
English being increase and I can teach well.
