1. RESOLUTION URGING THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESSES TO HOLD A

SUMMER JOB FAIR FOR MINORS WITH PARENTS CONSENT
WHEREAS, Numerous teenagers complain of having nothing to do during the
summer, often just staying at home and doing nothing productive for the
whole summer, which will be a waste of time.
WHEREAS, Based from the Republic Act of the Philippines No. 6809, minors
are defined as those below 18 years of age;
WHEREAS, Despite the young age, many teenagers display eagerness in
getting a summer job so they would have something to do over the break, yet
there are not enough summer jobs out there that are fit for minors;
WHEREAS, The proposed summer job fair will have a variety of jobs that will
cater to the youth population of our city that is interested in getting a
summer job and has permission from their parents;
WHEREAS, Minors who wish to earn money can do so during the summer,
which is the time when their studies cannot be disturbed;
WHEREAS, Minors can adopt skills, training and proper job ethics which can
help them not only in school, but also in their future job;
WHEREAS, This valuable job experience can be something they may put on
college, scholarship or job applications, which will set them apart from those
who have not had a job;
WHEREAS, Taking a certain job can allow minors to get a hands-on feel for
that business and its operational format so that they may determine if is the
path they wish to make a career of;
WHEREAS; It is important for them to have a parents consent to be allowed
to apply for a job to ensure, if ever they get the job, that their parents know
what they are doing and where they will be most of the time during summer;
2. RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING HIGH SCHOOLS TO HOLD A CAREER FAIR EVERY
JUNE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

WHEREAS, A career fair is a fair or exposition for employers, professionals

and schools where the students will be exposed to the different career paths
they may take;
WHEREAS, This will help senior students who have not yet decided which
career path they will take choose their college course;
WHEREAS, It is set in June to still give senior students time to think about
what course they are going to put on their college applications, since
numerous colleges conduct their entrance exams early in the school year;
WHEREAS, This will open the eyes of freshmen, sophomores and juniors to
the countless career opportunities possible;
WHEREAS, This will give freshmen, sophomores and juniors more time to
think and mull over their choices;
WHEREAS, It is important for students to be guided properly on what course
they will take on college because it will greatly impact the kind of career and
the job opportunities they will have;

3. RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO PUT UP FLYERS

ON THE PROPER HANDWASHING TECHNIQUE IN PUBLIC RESTROOMS
WHEREAS, Germs and bacteria can easily spread through the physical
contact, the most common one through our hands;
WHEREAS, Bacteria and viruses that cause diseases can get on your hands in
many ways, such as handling food or animals, touching doorknobs, shaking
hands, using phone receivers or computer keyboards, and using the toilet;
WHEREAS, Keeping hands clean through improved hand hygiene is one of the
most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs
to others.
WHEREAS, Hand washing is the single most effective means of preventing the
spread of infections.
WHEREAS, Many diseases, such as the common cold, influenza (flu), ear
infections, strep throat, diarrhea, and other intestinal infections, can be
spread by unwashed or improperly washed hands;
WHEREAS, Unwashed or poorly washed hands are responsible for 1 in 4 foodborne illnesses;
WHEREAS, Despite the importance of the matter, many people still dont
know the proper handwashing methods;
WHEREAS, Flyers regarding the proper handwashing technique should be put
on public restrooms to inform people of the proper and most effective

technique and to remind them e of the importance of keeping the hands

clean to avoid the spread of diseases;
PROPER TECHNIQUE:
Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold) and apply soap.
Rub your hands together to make a lather and scrub them well; be sure to
scrub the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
Continue rubbing your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum

the "Happy Birthday" song from beginning to end twice.

Rinse your hands well under running water.
Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
WHEN TO WASH YOUR HANDS
Before eating or handling food;
After using the toilet;
After blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing;
After touching animals or animal waste;
After handling rubbish;
After changing a nappy;
Before and after touching a sick or injured person;
Before and after visiting a hospital ward (remember alcohol-based hand rubs
are also provided).
