This standard is issued under the fixed designation B6; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year of original
adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. A superscript
epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.
This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. Scope*
1.1 This specification covers zinc metal made from ore or
other material by a process of distillation or by electrolysis in
five grades as follows:
1.1.1 LME Grade
1.1.2 Special High Grade
1.1.3 High Grade
1.1.4 Intermediate Grade
1.1.5 Prime Western Grade
NOTE 1Certain continuous galvanizing grades are specified in Specification B852. Other continuous galvanizing and controlled lead grades
are not included in this specification but are covered by specific user
purchasing specifications.
