A FIGHT FOR FREEDOM
So many gave their lives
To keep our country free
But we rarely think about it
We treat it so carelessly
We go about our daily chores
Expecting our freedom to remain
We raise our children, go to work
Thinking life will be the same
But it doesnt all just happen
For when you look back in history
Challenges came to the forefront
Folks fought hard for victory
It seems each generation
Has a challenge that must be met
Luckily there are special folks
Who have goals that are bravely set
So lets all think about them
Lets hold them in high esteem
Pray for the strong brave souls
And what freedom always brings!
MARILYN LOTT
MARILYN LOTT
(28 May 1942 / Washington State USA)
Marilyn Lott was born in United State of America on 28 th May 1942. Marilyn has
loved poetry her entire life. It started when her parents used to read to her and her
brother the poems from the Jr. Classics.
She and her husband often travel all around America and thats what motivates
her to write poems about her journeys. She has place in Montana of about 20 acres with
pleasant sceneries, including sunrises and sunsets. Apart from that, Marilyn also loves
photography.
She has written hundreds of poems for John McCornack's web pages. John
would send her the gorgeous pictures he has captured, and Marilyn would create
poems that suit the pictures. She finds it quite a challenging task to match the words
with what John wants the picture to portray.
On the whole, Marilyn loves to write about the simplicity of life and how faith and
hope is always there and that tomorrow is a fresh new beginning.

- The mood is mourning but at the same time proud of the achievements
