Celebrating

37 Years of

Supernatural
Provision
W

hen God called us in 1978 to dedicate

our lives to spread the Gospel of
Jesus Christ to the world, we stepped out in
faith and never looked back. For 37 years now,
we have experienced supernatural provision
as we obeyed God and trusted Him to provide
everything necessary to fulfill the vision that
He had birthed in our heart. Although there
were challenges to our faith along the way,
our God always encouraged us to believe the
unbelievable and receive the impossible.
In this Supernatural Provision Issue of our
ministry magazine, we wanted to give glory
to God by declaring the great things that God
has done for us over the years. As you read
this July issue of Voice of the Covenant, you can
see a timeline along the bottom of each inside
page to commemorate the awesome things that
God has done and is doing through JDM. Psalm
118:23 says it best: This is the Lords doing; it is
marvellous in our eyes.

Provision
For Failure

I was raised ponot poor, po! Whats po? Its what

you are when you dont have enough money for the last
two letters!
We had dishes growing up that you could drop on
the floor and never breakbecause they were plastic. We
had forks that hadnt been straight in 25 years. My mama
cooked weenie spaghetti and weenie gumbo and weenie
whatever else she could scrape up because, most days,
sausage was just too expensive. I grew up wearing my
brothers outgrown clothes. I grew up not having much of
anything and not seeing much of value.
When I was a boy, I did a lot of odd jobs. My daddy
started me working eight hours a day at the IGA grocery
store when I was eleven. I worked every Saturday for
twelve hours and eight hours from Monday through

Friday. My dad arranged for the bus to drop me off at the

grocery store every day after school at 3pm. I worked until
11pm. This was before America had child-labor laws,
or at least before the bayou country of Louisiana started
abiding by them.
I started playing music when I was five years old,
and by the time I was a young teenager, I used my talent
to play in local bars. Id sneak out and play until 2am to
make some extra money. No one cared in those days how
old you were, as long as you could play, and since I never
slept more than five or six hours a night, I could swing
the hours. What with work, school, and playing music, the
hours werent easy, but I did it. I felt like I had no other
choice.
Throughout my teen years, I was a short-order cook,

a soda jerk, a grass cutter, and did just about anything else
I could to make a few dollars. When a day job opened
that paid higher than the one I had, I switched. Between
my day jobs and my late-night music playing, I was
knocking down some serious dough! There came a point
as a teenager that I was making twice as much as my
father, just by the music alone. It became my ticket out of
Louisiana and out of poverty.
As a boy, I do remember a few moments where I
noticed nice things that others had. Once, I was watching
television and saw a woman holding a beautiful china
cup. I said, Im going to have cups like that one day. My
mama said, Boy, you aint never going to have anything
like that!
Now, I dont know if she meant to discourage me. It
was just the way our family talked. Anything outside of
plastic dishes, run-down cars, and weenie spaghetti was
for other people and not us. I think my mama may have
thought she was protecting me from disappointment by
telling me not to get my hopes up. I dont know.
When I got older and started earning my own money,
I realized that I didnt have to live like my family. I didnt
have to think like them. I didnt have to be them. I could
make my own way. I realized that, since nobody was going
to lift me up, I had to lift myself up. I knew that nobody
in my immediate family was going to encourage me, so I
had to encourage myself.
I made a decision when I was very young that
I wouldnt cut myself down, and I wouldnt make a
provision for failure. I knew that my future depended on
it. I decided that, if I was going to have or do anything
in this life, I was going to have to believe in myself. And
whatever I was doing, I was going to have to give it all I
had. After all, for me, there was nothing to go back to.

Failure is NOT an Option

There is something to be said for not having anything

to go back to. It gives you a different perspective. You
know right up front that failure is not an option.

1983
First JDM Crusade

As a born-again believer, I dont have to rely only

on myself anymorethank God! Thats too difficult for
anyone to do long-term. Yes, I still have to speak good
about myself to myself. Yes, I still have to give it all Ive
got! But I dont have to make it on my own because I
have God backing me! I have His Holy Word that I can
wield like a sword to cut the devils plans for my defeat to
shreds! Failure is still not an option for me.
I want Gods best in my lifespiritually, physically,
and financially. I dont want to be saved just enough to be
miserable. I dont want to live sick when the stripes were
laid on Jesus back for my healing. I dont want to live po
when it is Gods favorite wish that I prosper and be in
health, even as my soul prospers (3 John 2). Glory! There is
a better life for meand there is a better life for you, too!
God has your best interest at heart. If you have eaten
on plastic all your life and you want to eat on china, you
can do it. If you want to have a relationship that isnt a
scream-fest like your parents had, you can have it. If you
want to live healthy and whole, not busted and depressed,
you can have it.
God wants to birth dreams in your heart. He wants to
show you His ways of living, ways that are superior to the
ways of the world, ways that dont make a provision for
failure!

Lose the Failure Mind-Set

Failure. Ask yourself how much time you spend

thinking about it. You probably think about it more than
you realize. Most of us were taught to not get our hopes
up too high. We were taught to deal with the punches
that life throws our way and not expect anything, but this
is not the way God wants us to live.
You may have learned to guard your emotions by
setting yourself up for failure. That way, if you succeeded
youd be even more thrilled, and if you failedwell, you

didnt expect it to happen anyway.
Many of us were conditioned to make a provision for
failure. If I had a dime for every time somebody told me,
Now, if it doesnt happen, Jesse, you can always Id
be up to my ears in dimes today! Somebody somewhere
always seemed to be giving me a way out just in case.
In fact, people can make you so jaded about success
that you start to think that failure is seeking you out.
Have you ever felt that way? Like failure is some kind
of predator stalking you, just waiting for the opportune
moment to leap out and demolish your plans?
That kind of thinking is diametrically opposed to
success. Its the kind of thinking that stops a mental
map before its even formulated. Its why it is so hard for
failure-minded people to live the life of faith.
Many of us have been so conditioned to accept failure
that the faith-life seems far-fetched. Some of you may
think, How could someone blindly charge forward without
making a provision for failure? That isnt too wise! Its
downright unrealistic!

Put Aside Natural Reasoning

To the natural mind, making a provision for failure

just makes good sense. You are just being down-to-earth
and realistic. But to the Spirit, making a provision for
failure is the first step to actually failing. You see, in Gods
eyes, those realistic provisions for failures are simply
what He calls a lack of faith.
The longer I study the Word of God, the more I
am convinced of one thing: If you want to walk in the
supernatural provision of God and if you want to fulfill
your divine destiny, then you must put aside your natural
reasoning and make no provision for failure.
That sounds good in theory, Brother Jesse, someone
said, but I believed God would meet my needs and He
didnt do it! How do I answer that? Well, I answer it with
the truth. Somebody is lying, you or Godand I pick
you!

1987

6 Voice of the Covenant

How can I be so blunt about Gods provision?

Because of Philippians 4:19, But my God shall supply all
your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
And, because the Bible tells me in Numbers 23:19 that
God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man,
that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it?
or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? You see,
God always does His part. The question is, do we always
do ours?

Believing in God and Believing God

You see, theres a vast difference between believing

in God and believing God. The whole religious world
believes in God. But many have a problem believing God,
and that is where the answers to all their problems lie.
Think about it. How many Christians do you know
who actually believe what Jesus said in John 14:12: Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that
I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;
because I go unto My Father.
Remember, Jesus had strong faith. Jesus resisted
temptation and was a man of prayer. Jesus reached out
to the lost. Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, and
raised the dead. And thats when He wasnt praying
and preaching! Thats a tall order, isnt it? Jesus loved
children. He was both merciful and just. Although He
was a peacemaker, Jesus wasnt afraid to speak up when
confronted by the religious men of the day. He hated
hypocrisy and went straight to the issues of the heart.
Jesus walked on the water. Jesus turned a two-piece
fish dinner into enough to feed five thousand. Jesus spoke
to the wind and waves, and they listened. Jesus raised
a man from the dead who had been gone for days and
stunk! And this is just a fraction of what Jesus did. The
Word says, And, there are also many other things which Jesus
did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose
that even the world itself could not contain the books that
should be written. Amen ( John 21:25).

1988
Experienced Trip to Heaven First Secular TV Broadcast

Now, back to John 14:12who is it Jesus said would

do all this and more? Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and
greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My
Father.
Do you believe in God or do you believe God? The next
verse says, And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will
I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask
any thing in My name, I will do it ( John 14:13-14).
The church world has distorted it. They dont believe
that whatsoever they ask in His name, He will do. The
church believes that scripture this way: And some things
that you ask in My name that will I do. They want to
limit God. Theyre afraid to open that door too wide;
theyre afraid to use faith.
But do you know what? None of us can get to the
level of doing the works of Jesus if we dont use faith. If
we make provision for failure in our mind, then we are
destined to fail. God requires us to think higher, to have
more faith, if we are to do the works of Jesuswhich
is part of our divine destiny. We are supposed to be a
people of authority, a people that call upon God in time
of need and see results. We are a people of faith! And the
more we realize it, the more we use it, the more provision
and success were going to see with God.

The Power of Desperation

Dont take my word for it. Look at the Bible and see
what God says on the subject. Lets look at the story of
Elisha and the widow woman, and see how this can relate
to modern life.
Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the
sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my
husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did
fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him
my two sons to be bondmen.

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for

thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she
said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the
house, save a pot of oil.
Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all
thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
2 Kings 4:1-3
The first thing I want you to notice is that this lady
was very strong in her words to Elisha. She didnt beg him
for help. She didnt care if he was busy. She basically said,

and Im paraphrasing, Look, Elisha, my husbandthe

guy that used to work for youis dead. I dont have any
money and my creditors are about to take my kids away.
What are you going to do about it?
Thats strong. A lot of ministers would say, What
do you want me to do about it? The man is dead and
cant work for me anymore. I cant take care of you all the
days of my life. I tell you what, we have an account at the
florist. Well send a big array of flowers. In other words,
Be warmed and filled and get out of my face.
But Elisha didnt do that. Hed spent time with
Jehovah, and he knew God would back him up. He didnt
offer to do just one thing for her either. He didnt even
offer to do only two things for her. He said, What do
you want me to do?
It takes big faith to ask a woman that question. Most
women would say, Sit down and let me tell you! But
before she could answer, Elisha stopped her. Why? He
didnt want her to ask for too little. That is Gods way.
Hes into prosperity. Hes not a just enough God. Hes a
more than enough Provider! Glory!

Prepare for Increase

I love what Elisha said next. He said, What hast thou

in the house?
Can you imagine what she must have thought? If I
had anything in my house I wouldnt be standing here telling
you Im about to lose my boys! Ive got nothing in my house
except a little old bottle of oil.
This woman was in need of cold, hard cash and quick.
Elisha told her, Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad
of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few
(2 Kings 4:3).
I believe that was a strong warning Elisha gave her:
Borrow not a few. Why did he want her to borrow so
many vessels? Because Elisha didnt want her to make any
provision for failure.
A lot of people would have stumbled right there. It
didnt make a lick of sense to go borrow bottles when
the creditors were circling. Most folks wouldnt budge
until somebody gave them a logical explanation. In the
meantime, they would have missed their miracle.
Ive made up my mind that Im going to be like that
widow woman. If God says get ready for the increase, Ill
do what He says. I can hear it now, Yeah, but all youve
got is a little! I dont care about what Ive got or what
youve got, Im interested in what God hasand He has a
lot! My part is to do what He says. Why is that so hard?

Disobedience always brings failure, but obedience

Close the Door on Nosy Neighbors

Lets look at the next instruction Elisha gave the

widow woman. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut
the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into
all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full (2
Kings 4:4).
Are you wondering why he told her to shut the door
before she poured the oil into those vessels? Ill tell you
why. Nosy neighbors! People always want to know your
business. Elisha told her to shut the door, close the blinds,
and dont let people see what she was doing.
Youve got to understand this woman ran all over
town asking, Hey, can I borrow your jar? Your bucket?
Hold on, I need your thimble, too!
You know those people were curious! The crowd
probably followed her home, but God had already told her
to shut the door.
People will destroy the wonderful things God has
for you if you let them. If she felt bad about turning
them away and let one or two in, she would have missed
Gods miracle. What did those people have that was so
dangerous to the plan of God?
Opinion.
Opinion is nothing more than a transitory form of
thought floating on the sea of life that changes with every
wavea lot of words, but true!
Gods Word has the final authority, not peoples
opinions. James 1:5-6 says it plain, If any of you lack
wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally,
and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him
ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a
wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Wisdom comes from God, but there may be times that
He leads you to seek the counsel of anointed people.

Never Take No from Someone

Who Cant Say Yes

Now, I want you to notice something. This woman

told her problem to the one person she knew could give
her an answera prophet of God who her husband
worked for.
When you hit a wall in going towards your goal and
you dont know what to do, you may need to seek counsel
or advice from someone that you know can answer you,
and God may use that person to help you in a great way,
as He did with Elisha and the widow.
Never take no from someone who doesnt have the
authority to say yes. A woman told this to my wife once
when we were trying to work out a hotel issue, and Ive
never forgotten it! There is wisdom in this, so listen up!
That widow could have wasted her breath and her
time asking people who didnt have a lick of anointing or
sense about what to do in her dire situation. Instead, she
sought out the person that had the authority to say yes, so
to speak, the one who had the anointing and the power to
actually bring some change into her life.
The widow was wise to seek out the prophet. The
prophet was obedient to start flowing in the anointing of
God. He could have shut that anointing down and sent
the widow away. He didnt, and today we have a story that
gives us wisdom for life.

Obedience Produces a Miracle

The widow sought wise counsel. She made no

provision for failure. Then, she obeyed the prophet and
did exactly what he told her to do. She borrowed vessels
and shut the door on her nosy neighbors.
So she went from him, and shut the door upon her
and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and
she poured out.
And it came to pass, when the vessels were full,
that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And

1991
Preached First KCM Southwest Believers Convention Purchased First TV Cameras & Equipment

8 Voice of the Covenant

he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the

oil stayed.
2 Kings 4:5-6
Elisha didnt stick his finger out and miraculously
shoot oil out the tip! No, that widow had to work! She had
to knock on doors, borrow vessels, and start laying those
babies out. What happened as a result of her obedience
and her work? Anointing! Power!
That widow woman did exactly what the prophet of
God told her to do and her miracle came to passthe oil
stayed! She started pouring that little bottle of oil into
those borrowed vessels, and that miracle oil didnt stop
flowing...until she ran out of jars.

God Cannot Give

What You Cannot Receive

Now, the question I always had about this biblical

miracle is this: How did the oil know when to stop
pouring? The oil couldnt see. It couldnt hear the boy say
they were out of vessels. God had a lot more oil than what
He poured into all those bottles.
Why did it stop?
I believe that it stopped because of a simple spiritual
principle I like to call, God cant give you what you cant
receive. This principle is why Elisha told the woman
to borrow not a few. In other words, prepare for the
increase and dont make any provision for failure!
Did you know that oil could still be pouring for that
woman and her childrens children? God didnt run out of
oil; the widow ran out of vessels to hold the oil.
There have been times when Ive asked God, Why
didnt You do that for me?
I couldnt, Hed answer.
What do You mean, You couldnt? Youre God!
You wouldnt let Me.
How did I stop You?
I cant fully bless what I cant fully conquer. I cant fill
what I cant have. There are portions of your life that you
wont let Me have. Why wont you give them to Me?
Because youd kill it.
Thats right! Its not you that lives, but the Anointed
One that lives in you.
You see, the more of myself I give to God, the more
dead in Christ I become. The more I seek to lose my life
to Gods will, the more I actually gain a life worth living.
Thats what Jesus meant in Matthew 16:25 when He said,
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever

1992
First Jamaica Meeting

will lose his life for My sake shall find it.

At the end of the widow womans miracle, those
vessels were full of miracle oil.
Are you full? Do you have so much God in you
that its spilling over onto others? Is the fullness of God
pressed down, shaken together, and running over in you?
When people get around you do they step into joy? Do
they step into peace? Do they see Gods hand on your
life? Does it show up on your face?
If not, its time for a funeral. Bury that old manlet
God have access into every part of you. Hes a giver and
He wants to fill you up with good things. Remember,
when there is room to receive it, the oil will flow. When
you dont give Him any room, no miracle can be done
and your destiny cant be achieved. Youve got to give God
something to work with.
The widow gave her faith. It took a lot of faith to go
and borrow those vessels at the word of Elisha, and she
did it!
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said. Go,
sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of
the rest (2 Kings 4:7).
Elisha didnt just take care of the debt. He knew that
just paying off her debts wouldnt solve the problem. The
next month she wouldve been back. Elisha! Thy servant
my husband is dead. Now, I know you paid the light
bill last month, but weve got to eat. Those boys eat like
horses. What are you going to do?
Elisha figured the woman would be back every month.
So he saved time for everybody by instructing her on what
to do with the oilsell itwhich would provide financial
freedom for the widow and her sons. That meant she had
enough cash to pay all her debts and for retirement! I
call that an overflow miracle, but it was conditional upon
many things.
Your divine destiny will be conditioned on many
things, too. Youre going to be challenged. Youre going
to have some trouble. That is not the issue. Its how you
act, who you seek out, and what you do that is going to
determine your outcome.
Refuse to be a victim when trouble comes. Act like
the widow. Seek out the right people when you need them
and be a doer. a

Supernaturally
Positioned for

Wealth
by Cathy Duplantis

A king that ruled in the days of Elisha was fascinated by

the miraculous. He asked Gehazi, the servant of the man of
God, Tell me all the great things Elisha has done (2 Kings 8:4).
Now Gehazi had seen Elisha heal the leper Naaman and
multiply a desperate widows jar of oil until it was enough to
pay off all of her bills and retire for life. But just as he was
telling the king about Elishas greatest miracle of restoring a
dead boy to life, something unexpected happened.
A woman had entered the throne room and was
demanding the attention of the king. Now this was unheard
of in those days. You couldnt just walk into the presence of a
king and start presenting your petition. Remember the story
of Esther? She wanted to speak to the king, her husband, but
she had to wait for him to speak first. If she dared approach
the throne without an invitation, she could have been killed.
This woman had just returned to the kingdom after
leaving her property during the seven year famine that Elisha
prophesied would come upon the land (verses 1-3). But it was
no accident that she was at that very place and at that very
moment. She was supernaturally positioned for wealth and
was about to take back everything that had been lost during
the days of famine. The Bible says,
And as Gehazi was telling the king how [Elisha]
had restored the dead to life, behold, the woman
whose son he had restored to life appealed to the king
for her house and land. And Gehazi said, My lord O
king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom
Elisha brought back to life.
When the king asked the woman, she told him.
So the king appointed to her a certain officer, saying,
Restore all that was hers and all the fruits of the
field since the day that she left the land even until
now.
2 Kings 8:5-6
Why did the king grant that Shunammite womans

petition for her house and land and seven years of harvest
that would have been reaped from her land? After all, she did
not even work for that harvest!
Well, this was no ordinary woman that boldly entered the
throne room and interrupted the conversation of Gehazi and
the king that day. This was a faithful partner to the ministry
of Elisha and determinedly saw to it that his needs were met.
If he needed food, she fed him. If he needed a place to sleep,
she made sure that he got it. Whatever God laid upon her
heart to do for Elisha, that is exactly what she did.
That is exactly why God paved the Shunammite
womans way with divine favor that day with the king and
had arranged every detail of her restoration. God is faithful
and will not be mocked. He has promised in His Word
that if you sow, you can expect to reap (Galatians 6:7). She
had sown into the ministry of Elisha to provide for him,
and she reaped her home, land, and seven years of harvest
on that land. Because she had been a faithful partner, she
was supernaturally positioned for wealth. She received an
abundant harvest on the seeds she had obediently sown into
his ministry.

The Perceptive Are Positioned for

Wealth!

In 2 Kings 4:8-11 KJV, we learn of Elishas first

encounter with what the Bible called a great woman:
And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem,
where was a great woman; and she constrained him to
eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he
turned in thither to eat bread.
And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I
perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth
by us continually.
Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the
wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and
a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh

could ever need in this life and He wants
to position you for wealth.
to us, that he shall turn in thither.
And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he
turned into the chamber, and lay there.
From the moment that the Shunammite woman saw
Elisha, she perceived that he was a holy man of God. Now,
when you are obedient to the leading of the Spirit of God
and partner up with a ministry, it is not a one-sided thing.
You are laying the foundation to walk in the same power,
favor, and anointing because you have literally become a part of
that ministry.
By being sensitive to the needs of Elisha, the
Shunammite woman was really honoring the God Who
anointed him. According to Proverbs 3:9-10, she was
positioned for wealth: Honor the Lord with your capital and
sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all
your income; so shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and
your vats shall be overflowing with new wine. This kind of
wealth is the by-product of honoring God with the firstfruits
of all of your income to Him. You can count on it.

The Prudent Are Positioned for Wealth!

We dont know much about her husband, but this

Shunammite woman definitely had her stuff together. She
was like the wife described in Proverbs 19:14: House and
riches are the inheritance from fathers, but a wise, understanding
and prudent wife is from the Lord.
Prudent means having skill, good judgment, and
common sense. Both David and Solomon were described in
the Bible as men of prudence and wisdom and were greatly
used by God.
It is common sense to seek God and find ways to serve
Him. Think about it: the Creator puts you in a position to
honor Him by giving to help others. Why? After all, God
could just speak and new things (whatever was necessary)
would suddenly come into existence. He could do that. He
is God! However, He gives you power to get wealth so that
He may establish His covenant promise to bless to all the
families of the earth. Deuteronomy 8:18 says, But you shall
[earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives
you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant
which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

The Persistent Are Positioned for

Wealth!

Gods methods always work when you are persistent to

obey His Word. A never-give-up attitude will enable you to
stay focused on Gods promise until you see it fulfilled. Some
people never see their victory because they pass out on the
floor just moments before it manifests. All you have to do
is refuse to get weary in well doing and faint not (Galatians
6:9). The persistent are positioned for wealth!
The Shunammite woman was very persistent when it
came to blessing the work of God. She didnt just invite
Elisha to stop and eat bread; she constrained him. That
means she laid hold of him and insisted that he allow her to
bless him. Not only did she feed him every chance that she
got, but she also talked her husband into building an extra
room on the house to make him comfortable while traveling
through her town.
I believe that God moved upon her heart in order
to meet the needs of His servant, Elisha. He was so
overwhelmed by her generosity that 2 Kings 4:13 KJV says,
Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care, what is
to be done for thee?
You see, the Shunammite womans perception, prudence,
and persistence supernaturally positioned her for wealth. She
was rewarded by God on the day that she stood before the
king and received more than she could ask or think.
The principle is clear: When you do something for God,
you will always be rewarded. She was not the first person to
realize that you cant outgive God. He will not be a debtor
to anyone. He will always send harvest to those that sow in
faith.
Our God has a boundless supply of everything you
could ever need in this life and He wants to position you
for wealth. When you honor Him with your income and
walk uprightly before Him, nothing can be withheld from
you (Proverbs 3:9-10 & Psalm 84:11). One day He may ask
you the same question that Elisha asked his faithful partner:
What is to be done for thee? a

ACTIVATING
Supernatural

PROVISION
by Nathanael Wolf

Have you ever received a new debit card from your

bank in the mail? If so, Im sure youve noticed that the
new cards have a sticker with a phone number so that you
can call and activate the card. If you dont activate the card,
you are not able to use the card to access your funds. You
could even have tens of millions of dollars, but if theres no
card activation, theres no card access.
In a similar way, the Christian has endless resources
available in the Kingdom of God, but if they never activate
the supernatural, they cannot access whats available to
them. Now, I know this article is specifically entitled
Activating Supernatural Provision, and well get to that,
but I would like to first discuss activating the supernatural
more broadly. Why? Because when you learn fundamental
principles of activating the supernatural, those principles
can be specifically applied to other areas of life.
Heres one important principle to help you get started
on your journey: Notice the first three letters of activate.
Can you see it? Activation requires an act. Whats more,
activating the supernatural requires not just any act, but it
requires an act of obedience to the Word of God.
How important is activating the supernatural through
acts of obedience? To help answer that question, I want
you to think about the vital importance of the Gospel of
John to Christianityits often been called the Gospel of
Belief.
The Gospel of John records seven major signs in Jesus
ministry and states the purpose of them by saying, And
many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples,
which are not written in this book: But these are written, that
ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and
that believing ye might have life through His name ( John
20:30-31).
So why are the signs in the Gospel of John important?
The signs in John are vital because they were performed

and recorded that you might believe.

Additionally, in his New Daily Study Bible: The Gospel
of John, William Barclay writes, When John speaks of
Jesus miracles, he calls them signsThe New Testament
uses three different words for the wonderful works of God
and of JesusIt uses the word teras. Teras simply means
a marvelous thingIt uses the word dunamis. Dunamis
literally means powerIt always has the meaning of an
effective power which does things and which anyone
can recognize. It uses the word smeion. Smeion means a
sign. This is Johns favorite word. To him, a miracle was
not simply an astonishing happening; it was not simply
a deed of power; it was a sign. That is to say, it told
people something about the person who did it; it revealed
something of his character; it laid bare something of his
nature; it was an action through which it was possible
to understand better and more fully the character of the
person who did it. To John, the supreme thing about
the miracles (signs) of Jesus was that they told people
something about the nature and the character of God.
Now, please pay close attention to what I am about
to tell you next, it is very important. Someone activating
the supernatural by performing an act of obedience
preceded all of Jesus signs in the Gospel of John. Thats
how important activating the supernatural through acts
of obedience can bethe signs in the Gospel of John, the
signs upon which our belief is dependent, and the signs
which reveal the nature and character of God, were ALL
preceded by acts of obedience.
For example, when Jesus turned the water into wine,
the servants were told to fill the water pots with water and
draw it out and take it to the master of the feast ( John
2:7-8). When Jesus healed the noblemans son, the man
went home at Jesus command ( John 4:49-50). When
Jesus healed the paralyzed man at the pool of Bethesda,

1999
ORU Conferred Doctor of Divinity upon Jesse Duplantis

2000
First Meeting in Ireland, The Netherlands, and Sweden

18 Voice of the Covenant

the man was told to rise, pick up his bed, and walk ( John
5:8). When Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes, the
food multiplied in its distribution by the disciples ( John
6:11). When Jesus healed the man blind from birth, the
man was told to go wash in the pool of Siloam ( John
9:7). When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, the act
of obedience was rolling away the stone door of the tomb
( John 11:39). When Jesus filled the nets of the disciples
with fish, the act of obedience was casting the net on the
right side of the boat ( John 21:6).
Why do acts of obedience seem to activate the
supernatural and precede the miraculous? Because when
we act upon Gods Word in faith, it pleases the Lord
to co-labor with us in the miraculous (Hebrews 11:6).
Activating the supernatural is a divine partnership. God
inspires our obedience and then uses our inspired
obedience to produce His miracles.
Now, this is a good time to move on and specifically
discuss activating supernatural provision. Remember,
when you learn the fundamental principles of activating
the supernatural, those principles can be specifically
applied to other areas of life. Another important principle
to learn is that until you develop a supernatural logic, acts
of obedience may seem illogical.
Did you notice that in the miracle of supernatural
provision in John 21, when Jesus filled the disciples nets,
He told them to do something seemingly illogical? He
told them to cast their nets on the right side of the boat.
Whats the difference between the left side of the boat
and the right side of the boat? Its not like these fishing
boats were ocean liners, they were maybe 6-8 feet across.
The difference is obedience. Jesus said something, and
when He says something, thats where supernatural
provision will be found.
Notice that even though they were all professional
fishermen, they were obedient to Jesus. They immediately
did what He said. Why? This was not the first time they
had been through something like this with Jesusthey
were developing supernatural logic.
Remember in Luke 5:4-7, it says, Now when He had
left speaking, He said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep,
and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering
said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and
have taken nothing: nevertheless at Thy word I will let
down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed
a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they
beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship,
that they should come and help them. And they came, and

filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

In John 21, the Apostle John recognized that is was
Jesus by what He had instructed and by the supernatural
provision it produced. He cried out, It is the Lord ( John
21:7). Again, John was demonstrating supernatural
logichis mind was being renewed (Romans 12:2).
Throughout Scripture you can see that acting on
Gods Word (which may include instructions that seem
illogical) activates supernatural provision. Here are some
examples: When God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac,
but God supernaturally provided a ram instead (Genesis
22:13-14). When Elijah told the widow to give him her
last meal and God supernaturally created flour and oil for
her until the drought ended (1 Kings 17:10-16). When
Elisha told the widow to borrow empty containers and
God supernaturally filled all the containers with oil (2
Kings 4:3-6). When they ran out of wine at the wedding
feast, Jesus told the servants to fill the ceremonial water
pots and draw out the waterand as they brought the
water to the master of the feast, God supernaturally
transformed the water into wine ( John 2:1-11). When
Jesus gave two fish and five small barley cakes to
His disciples to feed 5,000 men, God supernaturally
multiplied the loaves and fish as it was distributed among
the people ( John 6:1-12). When Jesus and Peters taxes
were due, Jesus instructed Peter to cast a fishing line in
the lake and told him that the first fish he caught would
have a coin in its mouth. God supernaturally paid their
taxes (Matthew 17:24-27).
I remember many years ago, the Lord told me to give
$1,000 in a weeklong series of evangelistic services, but I
only had about $250 in the bank. The instructions seemed
illogicalHe told me to give more money than I had. I
asked the Lord, I dont have it, what should I do? I had
an impression to give a certain amount in that nights
service as a seed towards the total offering of $1,000.
Throughout the week, God supernaturally provided
money through unexpected checks in the mail and money
spontaneously gifted to us. By the end of the week, we
had given a little over $1,000 and had more money in the
bank than when we had startedplus someone gave my
wife a diamond ring.
I learned a valuable lesson that week: Acting on the
Word of God activates supernatural provision. It didnt
seem logical, but it produced results just like the stories in
Scripture! If you want to activate supernatural provision,
be like the servants at the wedding feastDo whatever
He tells you ( John 2:5 NLT). a

I immediately put it into

impossible.
I thank God for your ministry. For many years I have
been a tither, alms giver, and seed sower, but it seemed
I could never get out of debt or have more than enough,
and the enemy kept taking my finances from me.
I did a real estate deal with an agent and when
the deal closed, she took the $12,000 I should have
received. I never heard from her again. The enemy just
kept stealing from me.
Well, I heard your message on TV one day and
enjoyed listening to you. I purchased your book, Why
Isnt My Giving Working? The Four Types of Giving. I
read it and what an awakening. I never knew about
the firstfruits. I immediately put it into practice and
believed the unbelievable to receive the impossible.
I started doing the four types of giving and
immediately things changed. I cleared up debt that put
$357 more back into my pocket each month. I was able
to refinance my mortgage and saved $212 each month.
My seed to your ministry of $100 came back a 100
times. I kept the faith and followed your guidance, and
now money is coming in from everywhere. My finances
are increasing and my debt is decreasing.
God is awesome. Please keep educating Gods

WORLD EVANGELISM:
Believing the Unbelievable
Receiving the Impossible!

Bringing the Gospel of Jesus to the world is one of the most rewarding things we can do in this life.
That is why world evangelism is at the heart of every evangelistic meeting that is booked, every
broadcast that is aired, every magazine that is printed, every product that is produced, and every
social media post that goes out from this ministry. For 37 years now, we have been passionately
believing the unbelievable and receiving the impossibleseizing every opportunity to reach people and
change lives in evangelistic meetings like those on the opposite page.

God is calling us to believe Him for an aircraft that will enable us to fly one-stop anywhere in
the world to preach His Gospel. This will be an amazing evangelistic tool that will take us further than
weve ever been able to go and we want you to believe with us! With your faith-filled prayers joined with
ours, we know that God will bring this vision to pass!

What keeps us moving forward and believing God for this aircraft? People! You see, every person
young or oldis very important to God, to us, and to our JDM Covenant Partners. We believe that God is
calling more people of all ages and backgrounds to faithfully give their precious financial seeds to help us
Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone (Mark 16:15 NLT).
Believe with us in this aircraft vision to fly one-stop anywhere in the world to joyfully reach
people and change lives, one soul at a time!

The Apostle Paul had many
glorious moments in Gods presence
that totally transformed his life. My
favorite was the moment when the
bright light from Heaven shone down
around him and he heard Jesus call
his name. I know he must have told
everyone he met about that amazing
moment, because it was recorded
three times in the book of Acts
(chapters 9, 22, and 26)!
The light of the Gospel continues
to impact lives around the world. At
JDM, we are committed to reaching
people and changing lives with the
truth of Gods Word through every
available voice. Our prayer for the
world and for you today is the same
prayer that Paul wrote to the church
at Ephesus: I pray that your hearts
will be flooded with light so that you

can understand the confident hope He

has given to those He calledHis holy
people who are His rich and glorious
inheritance (Ephesians 1:18 NLT).
Jesus came to this earth to call
you to an inheritance that is rich and
glorious. He gave you His Word so
that your heart will be flooded with
light so that you can understand the
confident hope Jesus freely gives to
all those that believe Him.
In this Supernatural Provision
Issue of the Voice of the Covenant
magazine, I wanted you to read
these amazing glorious moments
from people that have begun to
understand giving and receiving
according to Gods Word. It is my
prayer that you will experience Gods
supernatural provision as you trust
Him in every area of your life.

Georgia: Thank God for your ministry. My husband

and I went from having no house to now having three

houses. House one was inherited from my husbands
mother. We only had to pay off $5,000 in debts on it.
It looked like a dump, but now God turned it into a
beautiful three-bedroom home. It feels like a vacation
home now. Fully restoredPaid In Full! House two
is a rental property and was paid in full in less than a
year. House three, called Hallelujah, is still a work in
progress that we are believing God to complete and
for it to be debt free. So many miracles have happened
along the way, we cant name them all. This ministry
has brought us so much hope and joy, and increased
our faith to keep believing God for increased blessings.

Florida: I recently ordered Why Isnt My Giving

Working? and I received answers that stirred my faith
to keep standing and believing God for my harvest.
Please keep preaching with boldness and transparency.

Alabama: After watching your message Why Isnt My

Giving Working? my wife and I decided to sow $5.00

into your ministry. It was such a small amount, but we
needed school supplies for our daughter. Well, within
a few hours, someone sowed $45.00 into our ministry.
Now thats a quick return! We did specify that our seed
was time sensitive. It wasnt near enough what we
needed for her schooling, so we decided to step out
in faith and sow the $45.00 back into JDM. Again, this
was a time sensitive, 100-fold seed planting. Hallelujah!
It took only 9 days from the time we sowed the $5.00
to the day we had enough to get the school supplies
needed. God supplied! We cant wait to get more seed
to sow! He did promise to supply seed to the sower.
Thank you, Jesse, for obeying God and preaching what
we all (including preachers) need to hear, which is THE
TRUTH! I wish we had been given this message when
we first got saved. What a great gift to give to new
believers.

Texas: Since I have started planting seed into your

ministry, I have been praying and believing for certain

things to come to pass. God gets ALL the glory! I
received a raise the first of the year. Not only that, but
I received another raise in less than eight months from
my last raise. God is so good! I made a vow to keep
planting seeds into your ministry and I have seen only
FAVOR, BLESSINGS, and ANSWERED PRAYERS! Doors
to financial opportunities have opened.

Ohio: Thank you for helping the body of Christ for the

past 37 years! It is greatly appreciated, and God will

not forget your labor of love. I want to help you help
others. I have supported you with one-time gifts or
seeds as we have learned from your recent teachings.
However, after listening, reading, and studying your
new teaching on the four types of giving, I also want to
be a monthly Partner with your ministry. I have been a
born again believer for 30 years and have never heard
the teaching of giving explained so well and broken
down to understand, with the scriptures to build and
support the foundation. Thank you! I am a faithful
tither and sower, but have always known I must be
missing it somewhere. God has blessed me and been
very good to me. However, I have not seen the blessings
multiplied to the degree that the Word boldly states
that I should30, 60, and 100-fold, and even 1,000
times greater! Thanks to your expounding these truths,
I expect this year to be my best, most productive year
ever! With clearer understanding of how to give, I
expect God to honor His Word. I have faith to receive
ALL that He has promised to His obedient children. I am
willing and obedient and shall eat the good of the land!

Florida: Thank you for sharing the truth of Gods

Word concerning firstfruits offerings. Through the

truth of Gods Word and your boldness to proclaim it, I
was set free from poverty-mindedness. Thank you!

Pennsylvania: I would like to thank you and give

glory to God for your faithfulness and for your

ministry. Because of your teaching on the four types
of giving, we received revelation knowledge and are
so thankful! Because of The Healing Word book &
CD that I listened to daily, faith came, strength and
revelation came, and I received my healing! Praise God!
It changed our lives completely from the inside out!

Australia: Your recent teaching on Why Isnt My

Giving Working? has been a huge eyeopener. Thank

you so much for this amazing revelationso easy to
understand.

South Carolina: We sowed a seed into your ministry,

along with a prayer request for a debt-free house. Two
years ago the Lord told me that He had not hidden a
house from us, but for us, and He would reveal it when
it was time. Well, He revealed a plan to build a house
and six months later we were able to pay cash for the
property! We love your broadcast!

Louisiana: I have been practicing your teachings

on givingtithe, seed, alms giving, and firstfruits. I

was so excited when I listened to the DVD, Why Isnt
My Giving Working? The Four Types of Giving that I
immediately purchased one for my sisters household.
After walking through much adversity in the love of
Christ, along with consistently giving in the proper
order, a breakthrough manifested by Gods Holy
Spirit. God blessed me with employment that He has
always had in mind for me and it is truly exceedingly
abundantly above all that I could ask or think. God did
it! Thank you both for all that you do to help us in the
Kingdom of God.

Ohio: I wrote in several weeks ago when I heard

Jesses teaching on firstfruits. I must say, I still dont

have full understanding of this because I always
thought it was about the tithe. I do trust the teachings
that come from this ministry because I see the fruits of
the ministry, and I dont believe for a minute Brother
Jesse would teach something if he didnt hear from God
on it. After I wrote in, one of your associate pastors
called me that same day to help explain the teachings
and pray with me (Awesome). I made up my mind I
was going to ask God to give me full understanding
and I started believing for increase in my life. About
a week after hearing the teaching, I stumbled on a
new company in our area that would not let me leave
without filling out a job application. It turned out
that I was hired to do the same job as I have done
for the past year, starting out at $3.00 an hour more.
Wow! God is good! Thank you all for being obedient
to the Holy Spirit so that my mind can be transformed
according to the Word of God (Romans 12:1-2).

JESUS

Has Provided
For You!

Friend, Jesus wants you to live a life that is full and entire, and
wanting nothing. He came to this earth to provide you with an
abundant life free from the curse of sin and lack. If you dont
know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, I would like to
take this opportunity to introduce you to the Greatest Friend
youll ever have. Simply open up your heart to Him, and Gods
amazing promises are yours.
If you are ready, pray this prayer now. When you say these
words and believe them with your heart, you will be born
again

Jesus, come into my life. Forgive me of my sins. I ask

You to cleanse my heart and make me a new person
in You right now. I believe that You are the Son of God
and that You died and rose from the dead for me.
Jesus, I want to thank You for loving me enough to
die for me. I accept all that Your shed blood bought
for me on the cross, and I receive You as my Savior
and Lord. In Your name I pray. Amen.

If you just prayed this prayer, congratulations! You are a new

creature in Christ, and as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, old things
have passed away; behold, all things are become new.
You now have a brand new, victorious life with Jesus to look

breathing, creating, omniscient, omnipresent God of more
than enough, starting right now. Please let us know of your
decision to follow Christ and we will send you a free booklet,

a believer. Just go to jdm.org and click on the Do You Know

Your FREEDOM
Starts with a Choice

by Jesse Duplantis
No matter what country you call home, you can make
a choice to be freeand Im not talking about politics.
Im talking about a freedom that goes beyond man-made
borders and ideas. Im talking about TRUE freedom that
can only be had in Christ. Whom the Son has set free is
what? Free indeed ( John 8:36). Glory!
You see, faith makes you free. Faith is how you get
a good report with God. Faith is how you draw those
unseen things you hope for into reality. For by IT (faith),
you will gain whatever it is that you are believing for
spiritually, physically, financially, or in any other area. Faith
in God that is active and real produces results. But, If
you dont know what IT is, you wont have it! Developing
your faith in God is critical to getting the needs and
desires of your heart met.
The part of IT (faith) that I want to share on is
freedom.

Freedom Is Your CHOICETake it!

Isnt it wonderful to be free?! But what made you

free? It was your CHOICE to believe in what God did
when He sent His only begotten Son to die for youthat

choice is what redeemed you. The blood was there all

along, but you couldnt be free until you made a choice.
The same is true with all the stumbling blocks of
life that God has freed you of or wants to free you from.
Freedom begins when you make a choice to believe what
the Word says about you and the life you can have, instead
of what the circumstances say and what your eyes see.
Freedom starts with a choice.
The free will to choose is a great gift that God has
given to each of us. In Deuteronomy 30:19, God asked
Israel to choose something, and that something was life
and blessing or death and cursing. You cant separate one
from the other. If you choose life, you get blessing. If you
choose death, you get cursing.
Did you notice that although God gave them a
choice, He expressly pointed out the right choice? You
may ask, Why? Well, because God is a good God and
He created us to be free. We were not created to be
independent of God, but free in our souland only the
choice of life and blessing contains that kind of freedom.
The choice of death and cursing does not bring a life of
freedom. That choice only brings confinement.

When God is giving you divine advice, I suggest you
Part of FaithReceive It
take it. Yet its amazing to me how many people go the
wrong way. Divine advice is as good as it gets!
Why would anyone choose sickness over health?
Poverty over prosperity? Death over life? I could go on
and on. Yet, as amazing as it is, so many people in both
the church and out in the world do make those choices.
I personally like to choose what has been suggested by
Godand that is life and blessing. So, why do so many
people not take Gods advice? Maybe they just havent
read the Word enough to know the good life when they
see it. Maybe they are still clinging to old feelings of
unworthiness. Maybe they just have been captive for so
long that they are literally comfortable with the wrong
choices and actually fear being free. There are so many
reasons why, but if we all only knew how wonderful life
could be if we simply took Gods advice, I believe each of
us would step forward and make the right choice every
single time. Choice is involved in everything we do. So
what does it take to make that choice of life and blessing?
One thing: a decision!

Never Debate What God

Tells You to ChooseAccept It

My next point is this: A choice always turns a debate

into a decision. Never debate what God tells you to
choose. Accept by faith that by His stripes you are healed
(1 Peter 2:24), even though your eyes cant see it yet and
you dont feel well. Thats making a decision to have faith
and choose life.
Im not telling you to deny how you feel. Thats not
faith, thats just denial. No, Im telling you to choose what
you want (which is to feel good) rather than choose what
you have (which is feeling bad). You see, your faith will go to
work on whatever you decide to choose. Did you get that?
Faith works on your choice. Your destiny will be
determined by what you say and do. Now, thats the truth!
The Word tells us that the truth will set us freebut not
just the truth on its own, but the truth that we know. In
other words, For by it (faith in God and His Word) we
are set free.
Isnt that word freedom just beautiful? It lifts you
just hearing it and thinking about it. Thats because
feeling free, even for a moment, feels good. But knowing
that the truth has made you free and walking in that
freedom, well, that is what keeps changing your life for
the better, because thats faith in God.

Why do people like sugar? They like it because its

sweet. It just tastes good! Faith through freedom is one
of the parts of God that tastes good. Thats why I follow
after God every day. The psalmist David wrote, My soul
followeth hard after thee (Psalm 63:8). I can relate, because
thats me! I love the Lord and His work with every fiber
of my being.
To me, the work of the ministry is not hard. No, it
is sweet. I love seeing people get saved, healed, blessed,
and changed by the Lords message. Why? Because I love
seeing them find freedom. That is what they are getting
from the Lord in many varying ways. His truth sets
people FREE!

Faith is Meant to Be
Spread AroundShare It

Everybody on this planet will have a chance to obtain

a good report simply by having faith in God. Our job
as believers, once we hear the message, is to spread the
message so that others can find faith and freedom too. Its
a sweet honor to give others that opportunity.
When the Founding Fathers of the United States
signed the Declaration of Independence, we as a people
were free. Yes, we had to fight a war. Yes, it was not easy.
Yes, it was tiresome at times. But it produced a nation that
changed the way the peoples of the world thought.
For by it (faith), man has the freedom to choose
whats good or whats notbecause we are ALL made
in the image of God. We can take this faith and give it
to the worldin other words, we can spread it around!
When we do that, the Holy Spirit takes the Word of God
that we share and draws people into freedom. The Holy
Spirit of God compels them to come in. He is the One
Who does the work in them, but He lets you and me have
a part in sharing freedom. We are His hands, His mouth,
and His feet. We are bringing real freedom to people all
over this earth and it is beautiful.
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it
is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach
the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
(Romans 10:15). a
