AGRICULTURE
MANAGEMENT
INFORMATION
SYSTEM (AMIS)
ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
INTRODUCTION
MODERN
WAYS
OF
AGRICULTURE
paved the path for the great opportunities for investors to earn by mean
of adopting the ways of optimal and effective use of technology with great
research to improve productivity and quality in little span of time.
AGRICULTURE
MANAGEMENT
INFORMATION
SYSTEM
(AMIS)
is one of the improved collection of central techniques of great
importance for managing, interconnecting, information passing, decision
making and processing the data and information, as an spatial
information, collects by mean of technologies and employees at different
level and sections and combining with the external sources, non-spatial
information, to make decision by keen observing the trends and
alternates of different events.

USE OF AMIS
The use of AMIS is solely depend upon the environment, resources,
tradition, culture, priorities and compromises. But the essential use of
this system is employed as follow:
Uses
Purpose
Environmental and Geographical Changes
Weather and Climate changes
Minerals in Soil

To Define Crop Belts

To Automatize the Irrigation System

MODERN
AGRICULTURE
Modern agriculture may
refer to:

Agribusiness
Industrial Agriculture
Intensive Farming
Organic Farming
Sustainable
Agriculture

Agribusiness is the
business of agricultural
production. All agents of
the food and fiber value
chain and those
institutions that influence it
are part of the
agribusiness system.
Intensive farming or
intensive agriculture also
known as industrial
agriculture is
characterized by a low
fallow ratio and higher use
of inputs such as capital
and labour per unit land
area
Organic agriculture is an
ecological production
management system that
promotes and enhances
biodiversity, biological
cycles and soil biological
activity. It is based on
minimal use of off-farm
inputs and on
management practices
that restore, maintain and
enhance ecological
harmony."
[USDA National Organic
Standards Board (NOSB)]

Sustainable agriculture
is the act of farming using
principles of ecology, the
study of relationships
between organisms and
their environment.

HIERARCHICAL ARCHITECTURE
As AMIS is a Management Information System (MIS). So, it inherits similar structure of processing in
the form of layers, which almost present in every MIS. These includes:
1.
2.
3.
4.

Data Collection
Data Transmission
Data Analysis and Process
Feedback and Report Generation

Data Collection
Authentic Data is primary source of the system progress. Authentication of data is declared by precision
and accuracy which depends upon many-many factors in which technology, techniques and technical
employees are of sole consideration. To maintain authentication, a good data collection system is
employed. Some of the IoT (Internet of Thing) based technologies are sensors, global positioning
(GPS), Remote Sensing, Geo-tracking & tagging, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Drone can
be good solution of this. And, the advanced techniques of Probability & Static can be applied to
approximate and to minimize error.

Data Transmission
Spatial and Primary source are the most authentic sources of information. To collect such
information, we can make use of networked micro-electronics. They are mostly wirelessly connected to
nearby processing node which eventually connects it to a central server. Server can be a repository to
store that particular information or otherwise information forwards by it to any services like cloud.
Non-Spatial sources are the source of great importance for making judgments of future business,
globally, in any field likewise, use of Data-Mining Algorithm, can be good technique to transfer data
from Content Delivery Network (CDN) like of google.

Data Analysis and Process

In all MIS, data is analyzes on basis of characteristic of the system to properly categorize it to extract
information. As, AMIS is solely depends upon the Agricultural data and its characteristic as listed below:

Spatiality
Complexity
Enormousness
Dynamics

Direct or Close Related Factors

Different subdivision on basis of both spatial and non-spatial factors
Factors to increase productivity
Factors effecting crops

Many Advanced techniques are employed to observe trend and effect to customize behaviors, which is
the achievement and characteristic of good MIS.

Feedback and Report Generation

The output of the result formed by AMIS is of great importance for making special and routine decision.
Certain routine decision can be automatically controlled by mean of networked system. Report can be
generated in any statistical form periodically and non-periodically for routine and special decision while
vital alert can be inform by a message driven system.
