Senator Chiz Escudero was ranked third in highest voters in the 2013 senate elections.
During his candidacy, he has surpassed many trials like people bashing on him and spreading
rumors about him, or Black Propaganda. One of these rumors were of him speaking of the
Muslims in a negative way. He immediately responded to this attack by clarifying he was not
discriminating against our Muslim brothers and sisters. 1 He also stated that many people have
called him many different negative names but he is not swayed by it and will continue to fight for
what he believes is right.
Chiz Escuderos campaign when he was running in the 2010 senate elections was sa
pangarap nagsisimula ang pagbabago.2 In the 2013 elections, his first campaign video was
also about change, using singer-songwriter Quests song titled Ang Pagbabago.3 The
message he wants to show is clear: he wants the country to change, even in the simplest ways,
by working with one another. In the video, he shows that the kabataan is the future of our nation.
He is also seen working alongside the youth which shows his pakikisama, a cultural aspect in
the Philippines.
One of his strategies was to show support to President Aquino. With Aquinos high poll ratings
back in the 2010 elections, there was a high chance that supporting him would give him
supporters as well. Aside from this, he is already well-known and has built a name for himself at
a young age.
One of the major decisions that a candidate must make is choosing which major issues
he is supporting. He doesnt let others pressure him into taking sides. He chooses them for

himself. For instance, the sin tax laws. He is one of only two senators who voted against it. He
has voted in favor of both the RH Law and the Cybercrime Law, and is pro- Freedom of
Information Bill4.
