Institute of Business Management (IoBM)

The Institute of Business Management (IoBM), formerly known as College of Business
Management (CBM), is one of the leading Business Schools in Karachi. It has created a name
for itself and is now imparting education in the field of business, economics, IT, health
management, and engineering. The Institute has been an active member of the International
Association of Universities (IAU), International Association of University Presidents (IAUP),
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Association of
Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and is also associated with several other international
academic organizations. Eduniversal, during its international conventions of Deans of
Business Colleges from over sixty countries, held in 2008 at Paris, France and in 2009 at
Cape Town, South Africa awarded IoBM 2 Palms as one of the best Business Schools in
Pakistan.
The Economics Society (ES), formerly known as Egalitarians, is a student-run organization at
Institute of Business Management with a motto of equality. Its purpose is to encourage,
promote and initiate projects, which provide platforms to students who share an interest in
economics and current affairs. The society aims to educate students about the working of
world economy, while giving special attention to the economy of Pakistan as well as the
global challenges it is faced with. This feat is accomplished usually via seminars and yearly
publications. ES publishes an Annual Magazine by the name of Economizer. This
magazine portrays what students think on different subjects pertaining to the field of
economics, finance, business, society and politics with respect to Pakistan and abroad, and
provide business industry a glimpse of what upcoming leadership is determined to do.
Students in their articles strive to picture contemporary issues with colors they see. Apart
from that, interviews and articles from renowned personalities of corporate & public sectors
are also included in the magazine.
Economizer is our initiative to connect the industry with academia. The magazine is not only
circulated among students but is also mailed to leading corporations in Pakistan. The wide
circulation provides our sponsors a diverse audience to promote their products. This year we
are planning to publish 1200 copies. This number surpasses all our pervious issues, and hence
we are looking forward to a more vibrant and strong feedback from our readers. This
proposal hence is being presented in order to acquire business partners (sponsors) who may
help us in reaching such a large audience.
