Three Month Contract Positions for C&I Project for a Fossil Power Station - Rivonia Based

Contract Controller
Main purpose:
The appointee will have a good understanding of C&I power plant projects, including engineering, commissioning, and project delivery.
Key performance areas:
K Excellent knowledge of contractual details, including deliverables and timeframe
K Knowledge of processes
K Monitoring changes to critical path and identifying deviations
K Keeping management informed of potential deviations from scheduled activities and resources.
Requirements:
K National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
K At least 3 years experience in C&I projects for fossil power stations
K Previous involvement in the engineering and commissioning phases of C&I retrofit and/or new build projects for at least one power plant
K Basic Knowledge of at least one of the following process control systems: Mauell ME 4012SN, Siemens SPPA-T3000, Siemens SPPA-T2000, Siemens TELEPERM ME, or ABB 800xA,
ABB Symphony Melody
K Previous experience in implementing Contractors and OEM engineering best practices and engineering guidelines for the applicable function
K Computer literate, with specific emphasis on MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project.

Deputy Lead Engineer

Main purpose:
The appointee will assist the Lead Engineer with regards to technical co-ordination, integration and management of engineering and design for the Works.
Key performance areas:
K Overall technical co-ordination of C&I works on site
K Coordination of basic engineering activities between engineering team, suppliers and the client
K Coordination of Boiler and Turbine Application Engineering, Balance of Plant Application, Safety System Engineering, Distributed Control System and Field Engineering, as well as
scheduling, document control and tracking
K Monitoring changes to critical path and identifying deviations
K Keeping management informed of potential deviations from scheduled activities and resources
K Preparing and submitting planning reports and measures.
Requirements:
K National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
K At least 7 years experience in the control and instrumentation engineering field
K Previous involvement in the engineering and commissioning phases of C&I retrofit and/or new build projects of at least 1 power plant
K Knowledge of at least one of the following process control systems: Mauell ME 4012SN, Siemens SPPA-T3000, Siemens SPPA-T2000, Siemens TELEPERM ME, ABB 800xA, ABB
Symphony Melody, Boiler and turbine protection systems, Burner management
K Previous experience in implementing the Contractors and OEM engineering best practices and engineering guidelines for the applicable function
K Computer literate with specific emphasis on MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project.

Document Controller
Main purpose:
The appointee will have a good understanding of C&I power plant jobs for basic and detailed engineering, commissioning and project delivery. Mononitoring the communication at the
interface as well as the response time, and reminding the relevant parties, to prevent late delivery, will also form part of the job, as will ensuring that the deliverables are handed over as
planned, and the relevant communication and escalation strategy is implemented in the case of deviations. The successful candidate will also ensure that all Quality Control records are
compiled timeously.
Key performance Areas:
K Detailed knowledge of processes and deliverables
K Preparation of QC deliverables according to company standards
K Compiling QC deliverables according to ESKOM specifications, Bilfinger policies, procedures, work instructions and the QC Manual
K Ensuring that deliverables are completed within specified time lines
K Filing of documentation
K Supporting QC inspectors with the necessary documents
K Updating matrixes and statistics
K Monitoring changes to the critical path and identifying deviations
K Keeping management informed of potential deviations from scheduled activities and resources.
Requirements:
K National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
K At least 7 years experience in C&I projects for fossil power stations
K Previous involvement in the engineering and commissioning phases of C&I retrofit and/or new build projects for at least 1 power plant
K Basic Knowledge of at least one of the following process control systems: Mauell ME 4012SN, Siemens SPPA-T3000, Siemens SPPA-T2000, Siemens TELEPERM ME or ABB 800xA,

K Computer literate with specific emphasis on MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project.

Engineering Planner
Main purpose:
The appointee will have a good understanding of C&I power plant jobs, including engineering and commissioning. The Engineering planner will plan the project activities and optimise
the project execution plan, taking into account the available resources and the clients requirements.

K Monitoring changes to critical path and identifying deviations
K Keeping management informed of potential deviations from scheduled activities and resources.
Requirements:
K The same as those for the Document Controller as well as previous experience in implementing the Contractors and OEM engineering best practices and engineering guidelines for
the applicable function, and a knowledge of Primavera.

Field Engineer
Main Purpose:
The person we appoint will have a good understanding of power plant, with particular focus on field site. The appointee will plan the measurements, hook-ups and wiring to the sub
stations, and plan field cables and the related cable trays. In addition, the candidate will design the sensors for the measurements and have a good understanding of actuators. On site
the Field Engineer will verify the basic engineering provided by the engineering team with the special requirements of the client. The field engineer will include these requirements into
the basic design and be a competent partner to the client and the engineering team.
Key performance areas:
K Detailed knowledge of coal fired power stations and field Instrumentation
K Knowledge of sensors and actuators and HART
K An understanding of basic engineering of automation systems for boiler automation
K Monitoring changes to critical path and identifying deviations
K Keeping management informed of potential deviations from scheduled activities and resources.
Requirements:
K The same as those for the Contract Controller.

Safety Application Engineer

Main purpose: The appointee will have a good understanding of power plants, focusing on boiler and turbine protection. In addition, the successful candidate will have an understanding
of the customers safety system requirements, verify the basic engineering provided by the engineering team and include these requirements into the general basic design.
Key performance areas:
K A detailed knowledge of coal fired power stations and boilers, turbine protection and burner management
K Trained in the application of the functional safety standards IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and NFPA 85
K Knowledge of safety systems such as HIMA, Siemens Failsafe
K Engineering and commissioning of safety systems for boiler and turbine automation
K Monitoring changes to critical path and identifying deviations
K Keeping management informed of potential deviations from scheduled activities and resources.
Preferred Requirements:
K National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
K At least 3 years experience in the safety engineering field
K Previous involvement in the engineering and commissioning phases of C&I retrofit and/or new build projects for at least one power plant
K Basic knowledge of minimum one of the following process control systems: Mauell ME 4012SN, Siemens SPPA-T3000, Siemens SPPA-T2000, Siemens TELEPERM ME, ABB 800xA,
ABB Symphony Melody
K Previous experience in implementing the Contractors and OEM engineering best practices and engineering guidelines for the applicable function. Computer literate with specific
emphasis on MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project.
