The ductwork of your new

system is just as important as
the unit itself, and the method
of installation. The right choice
of duct can save you money.

The Building Code Australia (BCA) currently states that a

duct with a thermal rating of R1.0 is acceptable for standard
air conditioning systems. However, at Ford & Doonan,
weve found that increasing the thermal rating on your
duct significantly reduces the amount of temperature loss.
This in turn reduces the load on your air conditioner, which
contributes to the reduction in running costs of the unit.
Similar to ceiling batts, the thermal rating of the insulation in
air conditioning ducts increases with its thickness and density.

To ensure you choose the

duct most appropriate for
your home, we offer four
different types:

GOLD DUCT

SILENT FLEX
This is a signature part of
Ford & Doonans superior
design. Polyaire Silent Flex boasts superior noise
dampening characteristics due to millions of
perforations in the metallized mylar inner core
that absorb the sound.
The cushioning effect of two ducts designed
this way is not often seen in cheaper designs
and installations. It contributes greatly to the
noise reduction and increased efficiency of the
Ford & Doonan systems.
Note: Small systems may only need a single duct.

Made exclusively for Ford

& Doonan in Western Australia.
This duct has a thermal rating of R1.2 and complies or
exceeds the new building code for most metropolitan
residential installations. Gold duct is an affordable,
durable, and good performing option which is suitable
for most heating and cooling installations.

SILVER DUCT

50mm thick

With a thermal rating of R1.0,

Silver duct is a tough long lasting
product which complies with the building
code for many residential applications.
Its an ideal choice for cooling only applications.

This is the premium duct with

a thermal rating of R1.5. It complies
or exceeds all the new building codes for residential
installations and is highly efficient in maintaining
constant air temperature and contributes to
reducing the running costs of your air conditioning
unit. Green duct is the optimum choice for reverse
cycle installations.
