Component fabrication and brazing

Maximum Time Allowed: 3 hours

This module involves the marking out, cutting, flaring, swaging and silver brazing different metals to
a high standard and cleaning the finished job.

Fabricate a copper component for a refrigeration system per drawing given. Heat Reclaim Detail;

The component will be pressure tested and the silver brazed joints, lead soldering joints, flares and
dimension will be inspected and marked according to the marking scale.

Pressure Test
Under the supervision of an Expert, Pressure Test the refrigeration piping you installed and the
fabrication unit to 1,050kPa (150 PSI), in accordance with manufacturers instructions and skill
standards.
The system must hold this pressure for 15 minutes.

Air Conditioning Electrical Wiring Installation

Maximum Time Allowed 1 hours 30 minutes

The candidate will be issued with an air conditioning unit and will be required to inspect, measure,
record, wiring, testing and commission the unit according to manufacturer wiring and specification.
The test module requires the electrical wiring to be installed and tested according to the World skills
standards within the time limit. You are then required to commission the system according to the
specifications provided.
The candidate is also required to set the controller to the required specification.
Instruction:
1. You are required to get an expert sign off for the electrical work done
2. You are required to get permission from the expert before ON the system.
3. You are required to perform an electrical testing on the following components ( you are
required to get a verification by an expert)
