EXT. NORWEGIAN MANSION - NIGHT

Two soldiers stand, looking at a large Norwegian Mansion,
their bodies wrapped in coats, their breath visible in the
cold winters night, wind whistling by.
HYDRA SOLDIER #1

HYDRA SOLDIER #2
Herr Schmidt? No, have you?
HYDRA SOLDIER #1
I can only imagine the honor.
HYDRA SOLDIER #2
You havent heard the stories?
HYDRA SOLDIER #1
Of course, Ive heard the rumors.
HYDRA SOLDIER #2
Makes you think, huh?
HYDRA SOLDIER #1

Theyre rumors.
HYDRA SOLDIER #2
They say he cuts off faces.
A truck drives up to the mansion, marked with HYDRA
insignia. A group of HYDRA agents exit the back carrying a
large drill. JOHANN SCHMIDT, commander of HYDRA, the Nazi
science division arriving in a following of era German
luxury car. As he exits the camera follows him toward the
door of the mansion.
The soldiers are unaware of the events behind them as they
continue looking at the mansion.

Speak of the devil... and he shall
appear.
The soldiers briskly turn and give the HYDRA salute.
HYDRA SOLDIER #1 & 2
HAIL, HYDRA!
Schmidt pushes through the two soldiers, ignoring their
salute. The team of agents follow as he approaches the door
of the mansion. Schmidt knocks upon the door. An old man
answers, in obvious fear.
INT. NORWEGIAN MANSION - CONTINIOUS
OLD MAN
(in Norwegian, with subtitles)
Please, like Ive told the others
there is nothing here!
JOHANN SCHMIDT
(also in Norwegian)
Then what reason have you to fear?
SCHMIDT pushes the man aside as he walks into the house,
followed by the agents.
The old man rushes to catch up with Schmidt at the front of
the agents. When he does, he begs and pleads for him to
leave. After ignoring the man SCHMIDT suddenly stops.
JOHANN SCHMIDT (contd)
(in German, subtitled)
Here.
The agents put the drill onto a picture on the wall, a mural
of the ancient Scandinavian gods and start it up.
OLD MAN
(in Norwegian)
Please, do not do this. No man can
wield an object of the gods.
JOHANN SCHMIDT
(in German)
Kill him.

An agent turns, shooting the man. The drilling continues for

a few more seconds before a bright red light emits from the
wall.
JOHANN SCHMIDT (contd)
Stop.
The drill is pulled out to reveal a glowing red oval, the
POWER GEM. Schmidt greedily grabs the object, his face
glowing red and contorting, despite this, a smile creeps to
his face as we...
