More NFPA Certification Programs are coming soon. We are continuously
expanding our Certification Programs to meet the evolving needs of the fire
service as well as professionals in the fields of fire protection and electrical
safety. We recently introduced the NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Compliance
Professional program detailed on page 7. Based on NFPA 70E, this new program
is designed to meet the certification requirements of supervisors managing electricians and other facilities personnel who work with electrical power systems.

Certified Fire Inspector I

(CFI-I)

Fire Inspector I (CFI-I) program. Respected across the U.S. and around the globe, NFPAs
benchmark Certification Program for fire inspectors was developed in response to strong
demand by local entities, state agencies, and national organizations. CFI-I Certification
is founded on the competencies in NFPA 1031: Standard for Professional Qualifications
for Fire Inspector and Plan Examiner and other applicable NFPA codes and standards.
The program includes case studies, an examination, and a 6-month practicum period. An
Examination Study Guide and a Practicum Phase Workbook are provided.

Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) is recognized across North America and
worldwide. More than 2,000 Certificate holders represent 49 of 50 states, and a growing
number reside outside the United States. CFPS is a high mark of achievement for professionals responsible for the application of fire safety, fire protection, fire prevention,
and fire suppression technologiesincluding risk managers, loss control specialists,

CFPE Certification has been very beneficial to me, and Im working to make sure others in
our office have the same opportunity to participate in NFPAs program. At Hartsfield-Jackson
Atlanta International Airport, we review construction plans that cover highly technical issues.
Having CFPE Certification ensures the plan reviewer fully understands whats being referenced
and what to look for in the fire codes. I encourage my personnel to attain the CFPE because we
