HAPPY HOLIDAY! Thank you to all the Governors, Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Staff,
Pupils and Parents of our Schools for all the hard work over the last academic year and for your
invaluable contribution to the life of the Parish. Have a blessed and well-earned holiday!

DAY FOR LIFE This weekend there will be a retiring collection for Day for Life the day in the
Churchs year dedicated to celebrating the dignity of life this year Day for Life focuses on
cherishing life and accepting death. It provides an opportunity for people to think about the
mysteries of life and death, as well as the Churchs teaching on appropriate treatment at the end
of life. It also highlights the prayer of St Joseph for a good death. Please give generously to
support their good work. There are leaflets available in the Church porches.
GIFT AID OFFERTORY GIVING If you are a UK taxpayer, you could add 25p to every 1 that
you give to your Parish (at no cost to yourself) through Gift Aid. You can give through the Gift Aid
envelope system, or pay by Standing Order. If you require any further information please ring

CANON PATRICK CAREY RIP Please pray for Canon Carey who died last week. The Funeral
Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Peter on Friday, 31st July at 2.00pm in St Ethelberts Church,
Slough. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
DECEASED Please pray for Deacon Luis Navarro RIP who died recently, his Requiem Mass will
be on Tuesday, 28th July at 1.30pm in Our Lady of Peace, followed by committal at Chilterns
Crematorium May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
MASS CHANGE Please note there will be no Mass at 9.30am on Tuesday at Our Lady of
Peace, Mass will be at 1.30pm and will be the Requiem Mass for Deacon Luis Navarro RIP.

CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE the CWL wish to thank Parishioners for their support in
donating items for the stall at Burnham Carnival. 190 was raised for charities.
BURNHAM LIGHTHOUSE have now finished collecting cereal boxes, jars etc for 2015, so
PLEASE DO NOT leave any more boxes etc in the Church porch.
MARRIAGE TRIBUNAL AUDITORS in the Slough area are needed. The work of a Lay Auditor
includes contacting, interviewing and gathering the testimony of a Petitioner, or a Respondent, or
a named witness in a marriage case that is before the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal. If you would
be willing to offer your services to the Marriage Tribunal, to work in the capacity of Lay Auditors
in Slough, please contact Canon Kevin ODriscoll on 01753 543770.
MISSIO please would you kindly bring your boxes in current use to Mass with you as soon as
possible. Please ensure that boxes are always left with someone at Church whom you know.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT every Monday at Our Lady of Peace from
7.00pm to 8.00pm. All welcome to join in Contemplating the Face of Christ through prayer,
praise and stillness. There is also Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with Worship, Scripture,
Silence and Divine Mercy Prayer at St Andrews every Thursday from 8.30am 9.30am. All
welcome.

ST ANDREW'S CHURCH Clearing and Tidying Session in the Mart building, Tuesday 28th July
at 10.00am, car drivers required to take items to the tip. Cleaning St Andrews Church, please
do come along and help to keep our Church clean, sweeping, hoovering and dusting on
Saturday 15th August at 10.00-11.00am
GLORY TO GOD Catholic Charismatic Convention led by Rev Dr Augustin Vallooran VC, world
renowned preacher from the largest Catholic Retreat Centre. Music Ministry, Healing service,

ASSISTED SUICIDE BILL On Friday, 11th September the House of Commons will debate and
vote on a Bill to legalise assisted suicide. This will put the most vulnerable people in our society
at risk. Please contact your MP, urging them to attend the debate and vote against the Bill. You
can send an e-mail to your MP via the Catholic Bishops Conference
website (www.catholicnews.org.uk/assisted-suicide) or send a letter by post, a draft of which can
be found at the back of the Church.
SLOUGH FOODBANK This years Ride for Food will take place on Sunday 13th September at
12.30pm starting from Slough Cinema. 24 miles (approx.) around the lovely Berkshire
countryside through Windsor Great Park to Dorney. Bring your own lunch and bring money for
the ice cream stop at Dorney, before returning for about 5.00pm. All are welcome but children
need to be accompanied by an adult. If interested email Toby on tobymckeever@gmail.com.

ST BERNARDS CATHOLIC GRAMMAR SCHOOL Parents are invited to an 11+ Information
evening on Wednesday, 30th September at 8.00pm. Tours of the School for prospective parents
and their children will be on Tuesday, 6th October at 9.15am. Wednesday, 7th October at 9.15am,
