SLL GlideLoc Fall Protection Access System User Guide
Anyone using the system must read and understand these instructions prior to use
1. The System components are:
o
A Full Body Harness in accordance with EN361 with a
front and rear fall arrest connector properly adjusted to fit the user.
The GlideLoc Comfort Traveller (with integral shock absorber).
This is designed and may be used as personal protective equipment only. It must not be used for different applications, e.g. as load carrier for material or as load arrester.
The GlideLoc GuideRail/Ladder
2. Adjustment of your harness
To ensure smooth running of the GlideLoc Traveller in the GuideRail, you harness needs to be adjusted so that the chest connector (to which the Traveller is connected) is tight to your body.
3. Connecting the GlideLoc Traveller to your Harness
Unlike most karabiners the Travellers connector has triple actions. To Open Pull the ferrule forward, twist and push down. It has an automatic closing and locking mechanism for added safety.
4. Connecting the GlideLoc Traveller to the GuideRail/Ladder
To connect to the ladder system, simply slide the Traveller into the bottom end of GuideRail, open the Bottom Stop and slide the Traveller through. The system does not allow the user to connect the traveller incorrectly the Bottom Stop has a barrier stopping the Traveller moving up the system.

5. Climbing the Ladder
The Traveller will travel up the rail without snagging whether it is kept in tension or below your front connector as you climb
6. Transfer to/from platform (with Top Extension)
Once you have reached to top of the GlideLoc System step onto the top platform and connect your rear lanyard to the eyebolt then disconnect your GlideLoc Traveller by opening the top end stop and removing it from the GuideRail (reverse this procedure for descent)
7. Transfer to/from platform (with Twisted Change Over Rail)
Once you have reached to top of the
GlideLoc System it turns inward through 90 degrees. Guide your GlideLoc Traveller through to curved section and inward through the gate (where fitted) and then disconnect from the System by opening the Horizontal End Stop and sliding your Traveller out of the Rail (reverse this procedure for descent)
8. Descending the Ladder
There are two methods of ensuring the Traveller does not snag as you climb down the ladder:
Keep the Traveller in tension by pulling your body
away from the PivotLoc
Hold your body close to the PivotLoc and let the
weight of the Traveller allow it to glide below your connector Method 1 Tension on Traveller
Method 2 Traveller Glides below Connector
