63/190 84-ANF 901 14 Uen E11 2011-10-21

ADC

The extension is to be initiated with MMB on ACD

agents ODN at call to / from ACD / non-ACD ADN.

D13 = 1, 2 or 3 is not permitted, if reception of call waiting

tone (SERV parameter) is selected.
Number Log

D14
0

Number log is always active. All unanswered and

answered calls are logged.

When Personal number is used, number logging is done

only for the extension that owns the Personal number,
not for any other destination in the list.

Number log for unanswered calls only.

Note, the values cannot be combined. For example, the

value 3, as 1 plus 2, cannot be used as input to the D14 digit.

1.2

Function
The parameter states:

Agent position, that is, whether the extension is permitted to have

ADNs as members of ACD groups.

Note: The category needs to be set for the ODN and for the ADNs which
should be part of an ACD group.
When the Multi-Member Busy on ACD agent's ODN function is
selected, the ACD agent is not able to receive new calls to the
ACD agent position when an ACD member is busy. The calling
party will receive a busy tone, and will only be able to perform call
back, camp-on (if PBX operator), or intrusion (if ACD supervisor).
Call back can be performed if the calling party has the proper
class of service. The category for reception of call waiting tone
(SERV parameter) cannot be selected.

Reserved.

Request A-number from the PSTN. This category states if the

extension is allowed to request an A-number from the PSTN, if this
feature is offered.

Note: The A-number can only be requested from the PSTN if the categories for both the extension and the route are set to not
restricted. For route value, see parameter SERV in the parameter
description for ROUTE DATA. A-number request from a public
incoming external line can be set by the SERV parameter in this
description.

63/190 84-ANF 901 14 Uen E11 2011-10-21

DIGITAL KEY SYSTEM TELEPHONE, KS

Extension number presentation category, that is, whether the

extension number will be presented to the called/calling party internally or within the ISDN/H.323 network. If this category is set to
presentation not restricted, the extension number will be presented
to the calling/called party, if possible. If this category is set to
presentation restriction per call, and if the user has activated the
restriction by dialing the procedure *42# before the B-party number,
then the calling number is not presented to the called party

Note: There is an override category for the route that can be set to
presentation controlled by the extension or presentation
restricted, see the parameter SERV in the parameter description
for ROUTE DATA.

Call metering, a category that states whether a call should be

metered externally per extension or per route. An extension that is
initiated within the exchange's public network number series can be
metered per extension (individually). Other extensions are metered
per route (exchange). The information is used in the other
exchange.

Malicious call tracing, a category that states whether or not an

extension is authorized to initiate malicious call tracing.

Manual message waiting, whether or not the extension is permitted

to use the feature manual message waiting.

Transfer category, whether the extension is permitted to transfer an

internal (within the network) or external party to a public external
line in an outgoing call/collect call, or to transfer a public external
line in an outgoing call/collect call to an internal (within the network)
or external party (see the figure below) or transfer the call to an
intruded party. Authorization is required both for transfer and for
receipt of transferred outgoing external call/collect call if the transferred-to party is an internal extension. For parties over the trunk
(private or public), the category for receipt of transferred outgoing
external call/collect call is not checked, it is by default allowed. The
necessity of a category for this type of transfer depends on the AS
parameter. (Can be altered via command ASPAC, PARNUM=67).
If the call is transferred to an intruded party, intrusion is terminated
and a conference call is established.

Common authorization code forbidden.

Network affiliation, whether the extension is permitted to send its

directory number to the public network. For this option to be
permitted, the extension must belong to the public number series of
the PBX.

CLIP restriction override, the extension is able to display the calling

partys number, irrespective of the calling partys presentation category, whether or not it is allowed.

63/190 84-ANF 901 14 Uen E11 2011-10-21

ADC

Multi-Member Busy (MMB): If MMB is set on ODN and if ADN is

busy, then ODN is treated as busy for incoming calls. If ADN has
MMB set and if the ODN is busy, then ADN is treated as busy for
incoming calls.

Number log can be set to always active or no number log when the
answering position is not the personal number.

If the parameter is omitted, the default value (zeros) will be used.

1.3

Restriction of Transfers
PSTN-to-internal party transfer:

For the above transfer to be executed, P1 must possess transfer category D8 1, 3, 5, or 7, and at the same time P2 must possess transfer
category D8 2, 3, 6, or 7.

1.4

Example
The ADC categories should be the following:

Normal extension.

Reserved.

The feature request A-number from the PSTN is not used in the
system.

The feature extension number presentation is not used in the

system.

Calls are to be metered per extension.

The extension is not permitted to initiate malicious call tracing.

The extension is not permitted to use the function Manual message

waiting.

The extension should be permitted to both transfer and receive

transferred outgoing external calls or collect calls.

When an authorization code is given, an extension affiliation is not

required.

The extension is permitted to send its own directory number to the

public exchange.

The extension is permitted to display calling party number even if

the presentation is restricted.

The extension has MMB set for non-ACD members. That means if
any non-ACD ADN is busy, ODN is treated as busy for incoming
calls.

7.2

Function
The parameter states the diversion facilities to an extension.

Rerouting limitations at incoming external call to extension. This

facility makes it possible to avoid rerouting at call to an extension,
which might be a fax machine, even though the incoming route is
categorized to allow rerouting.

Individual do not disturb. This is a service that can be given to the

extension. A call to an individual do not disturb-marked extension
will not be signaled on the receiving extension. An individual do not
disturb marked extension can still make outgoing calls in the normal
way.

External follow me. The possibility to do follow me to an external

part can be given to an extension.

Diversion. Categories for the grade and type of diversion service

are stated. The parameter also allows the diversion on origin
feature. If it is allowed, then ways of diversion are assigned to
select different answering positions based on calling party's type.

Multi-directory diversion. It states that when follow me, direct diversion, message diversion, or DND facility are activated or canceled
for an ODN, the same facility is also activated or canceled for the
ADNs corresponding to the same digital telephone set.

Follow me (internal or network). When this function is used the call

can be diverted to an extension (internal or in the same network)
that has been programmed by the extension requesting the facility.

Remote programming of diversion: By allowing an extension to

perform remote programming of diversion, the extension can be
used for remote initiation of diversion on other, internal extensions.
(Provided that the selected diversion type is allowed for these
extensions.)

If the parameter is omitted, the default value (zeros) will be used.

Function
The parameter states the bit setting for one single row of the character

The character matrix can be set only for special characters. One single
character is built by a matrix of 8 rows X 8 bits, but only 5 are shown, see
2 Alphanumerical Telephone Display Character Set on page 30.
Every display element is represented by one bit each out of the value
given for the parameter FONT. That means if the bit is set (= 1), the
display element is shown on the display.
The values needed for a complete character must be given all together
at the same time. Therefore, the parameter has only one specific syntax
which will be accepted as valid input:

46

NDBVAL
Dial By Name Character Value

46.1

Format
NDBVAL=D1D2
D1D2 = 0, 30, 31, C0-DF
Dial by Name additional character value in hexadecimal
format.

46.2

Function
The parameter states the additional character value that will be used for
the Dial by Name search and arrange method. Once the parameter is
used, the value of this character will be used in the internal arrange
method in the Dial by Name data base, and it will be associated with the
position in key 1 or 0 defined with NDBPOS parameter to be searched
from the user through the Digital Telephone Set.
The values accepted are from C0 to DF, which are the specific characters used by different languages in upper case. The characters used in
the Dial by Name data base internal arrange method are always in upper
case, once an additional character from C0 to DF is included, the same
character in lower case, located from E0 to FF, will also be converted to
the upper case value for the arrange and search method.
The value 0 is used to remove the additional character from the Dial by
Name search and arrange method. Once this value is used, the additional character is converted to its default value, 3 Dial by Name Internal
Conversion Table on page 66.
The value 30 is used to remove the additional character stored in key 0
from the Dial by Name search and arrange method. The value 31 is used
in the same way when the additional character is stored in key 1. Both
values, 30 and 31, are the ASCII default values for keys 0 and 1, and
must be permitted to allow regeneration through PC Regen.

50.2

Function
The parameter states those characteristics that may be assigned to an
extension, as follows:

Whether the extension is blocked for outgoing traffic in an emergency switched PBX.

Whether an extension may initiate intrusion towards another party

or alternatively whether another party may effect intrusion on the
extension. Furthermore, which priority the extension possesses on
intrusion. Priority denotes whether an extension may effect intrusion on another party possessing same or lower class of priority.
Highest priority (3) means, however, that an extension may intrude
on another extension possessing the same priority.

Note: For charging of A-subscriber, see the operational directions for

ADMINISTRATION OF ROUTES.
Note: For A-number request from PSTN category, see the 1 ADC on
page 3ADC parameter in this description and also the operational
directions for ADMINISTRATION OF ROUTES.

Whether the extension may initiate automatic call back and

whether the extension may initiate transmission of call waiting tone
to another party, and whether the extension may accept call waiting
tone from another party.

The Hospitality class of the extension. There are four available

Hospitality classes with different privileges: Normal extension,
Room vacant, Room occupied, and Service quarter.

Whether the extension is permitted to accept the incoming collect

calls (Brazil).

The following digit positions take a combination of values.

STRING
Text String for Display Information

51.1

Format
STRING = D1 --- D20
D1 --- D20 =

51.2

Any combination of maximum 20 characters

(see below)

Function
The parameter states the contents of text strings to be presented on the
display of the telephone in different traffic cases or states.
The characters in the strings can be entered in two different ways:

By typing the characters directly, if they are available in the typewriter keyboard. In this case, each D i represents one character.
There is only one exception: the hash (#) character cannot be
entered by typing it directly.

By typing the hexadecimal ASCII code for the wanted character,

preceded by a hash (#). This way, each D i is really a combination
of three characters: a hash (#) character followed by the corresponding hexadecimal ASCII code (two figures).

Both ways of entering characters can be mixed in the same string.

The text string must be surrounded by quotation marks.
The allowed characters and their ASCII codes are shown in the table, 1
Character Code Set (ISO 8859-1) on page 21.

51.3

Example 1
According to the first way to enter the characters, set the contents of the
text string to FollowMe.

Function
The parameter states the text string to be shown on a display of the telephone for different traffic cases or states.
When this parameter is used for printout commands, it may be given with
only the message type, that is, without offset number. This will lead to
the printout of all the messages of the stated message type.
For the following values for each message type, the first column shows
the message type and the offset, the second column shows the default
text string value for the English language, and the third column shows
the traffic case or state.

SKG (Soft-key Graphical information)

The SKG string is displayed above a key, in the bottom row of the
display.
There is no empty space between the sections, i.e. two long strings
cannot be used close to each other. Therefore the maximum number of
pixels can only be used for a string that has two shorter strings on both
sides. To make it simple, use the recommended maximum number of
pixels and it will always work.
Spaces within a string (i.e. two words) should not be used! That can
make it more difficult to understand which word that belongs to a specific
key. When two or more words shall be used, combine the words into one
word.Example: Call list = CallList
If the real maximum value should be used, the following information
must be considered:
Fixed combination
Some strings are used in a fixed combination of four strings (= each
string has a fixed position in that combination). Each combination must
be studied to learn where a maximum long string can be used.
Dynamic combinations
Other strings are used in long lists of strings where each list has more
than four strings. For such a list, the fourth key (right most) is always
marked with more... and only three SKG strings are shown at the time
for key 1, 2 and 3.
Each list has an order how to show its strings, but depending on traffic
cases, extra strings can pop up in the beginning of the list and put all the
other strings 1 to 2 steps to the right. This results in that it is hard to see
the string that will be close to every string. All the possible positions must
be considered, and the worst case to be chosen. The lists differ between
DBC 4223 and DBC 4225.
A maximum of 12 characters can be used.
For DBC 4223 a maximum of 60 pixels (recommended max 56, see
above), font type Small. For DBC 4225 a maximum of 80 pixels (recommended max 74, see above), font type Medium.
As different fonts and different max number of pixels are required for the
two telephones, the worst case shall be used, probably the DBC 4223
value.

SKI (Soft-Key Information)

Soft-key (SKI) strings are only used for system telephones with either a
fixed 20 or a 40 characters display. I.e., all characters have the same
width (no need for a pixel length). When
DBC 4223 is connected to a system running in this so called D3 mode,
it automatically uses a fixed font table for 40 characters width. When
localizing, be aware of that each text string consists of 20 characters
divided into 4 sections with 5 characters each. At least one space must
always be written between each section. If no space is left, the two texts
will be written together and will therefore be difficult to read and understand.
See the Directions for use for DBC 6xx, DBC 213 and DBC 22x for
layouts of the soft-key displays.
The space(s) before and/or after are also used to centre each text
above its key below the display. I.e. text with two or three characters
must have space(s) both before and after the text in its section.
Note for the first (most left) section: Only when the text uses two or one
character, a space should be added at the very first character position
(otherwise it will looks bad in the DBC 3213 display).
When displayed on a 40 characters display, the system automatically
adds extra spaces to the string (3 before, 5 between each section, and
2 spaces at the end). Therefore it is important that every section always
consists of 5 characters including the dividing space(s).
Only in exceptional cases a space between two of the four sections can
be excluded, but is not recommended.
Spaces within a section (i.e. two words/characters) should not be used.
Instead combine the words into one word.
Example: Account Code = AcCo
A maximum of 5+5+5+5 characters including spaces. Font type D3
Small.

55.2

Function
The parameter states:

an extension's abbreviated number traffic class, that is, which

group of common abbreviated numbers the extension is entitled to
use.

which digits the extension may dial during day service and night
service (limited by TCD data in number analysis).

the traffic connection class that states to which traffic group the
extension belongs, that is, A- and B-party connection possibilities.

If the parameter is omitted, the default value (zeroes) will be used.

55.3

Example
The category should be:

Permitted to use the common abbreviated numbers that are affiliated to the abbreviated number category 03.

During night service the extension's TCD category 07 should be

used. Digit transmission by the extension during night service is
then limited by TCD data in the number analysis in accordance with
category 07.

During day service the extension should be fully open.

The extension should then be connected to A and B-parties

according to the prerequisites for traffic group 14.

56.2

Row or column in the transmission matrix.

Function
The parameter states the transmission characteristic in the LIM switch
that is, amplification or attenuation. This is achieved with the aid of a
transmission matrix. For a voice signal from the party it states the row in
the matrix and for a voice signal to the party it states the column.
From the identified element in the matrix an indication concerning amplification or attenuation between the A-party and the B-party is obtained.
The values of the matrix elements are market-dependent.
For more information, see the description of the relevant application
system.
If parameter TRM is omitted, it is assumed that the value is 0.

56.3

Example
The extension should use the transmission characteristics stated in row
and column 1.
TRM = 1
