hervoiceislowandmusicalasthenoteoftheKokilabird5;shedelightsinwhiteraiment,infine
jewels,andinrichdresses.Shecatslittle,sleepslightlyand,beingasrespectableandreligiousas
sheiscleverandcourteoussheiseveranxioustoworshipthegods,andtoenjoytheconversation
ofBrahmans.Such,then,isthePadmini,orLotuswoman.
TheChitrini,orArtwoman6,isofthemiddlesize,neithershortnortall,withbeeblackhair,
thin,round,shelllikeneck;tenderbody;waistleangirthedasthelions;hard,fullbreasts;well
turnedthighsandheavilymadehips.ThehairisthinabouttheYoni,theMonsVenerisbeing
soft,raisedandround.TheKamasalila
(loveseed)ishot,andhastheperfumeofhoney,producingfromitsabundanceasoundduring
thevenerealrite.Hereyesroll,andherwalkiscoquettish,liketheswingofanelephant,whilst

ineverykindofaccomplishment,especiallytheartsmanual;hercarnaldesires,arenotstrong,

TheShankhini8,orConchwoman,isofbilioustempermament,herskinbeingalwayshotand
tawny,ordarkyellowbrown;herbodyislarge,orwaistthick,andherbreastssmall;herhead,
hands,andfeetarethinandlong,andshelooksoutofthecornersofhereyes.HerYoniisever
moistwithKamasalila,whichisdistinctlysalt,andthecleftiscoveredwiththickhair.Hervoice
ishoarseandharsh,ofthebassorcontraltotype;hergaitisprecipitate;sheeatswith
moderationandshedelightsinclothes,flowersandornamentsofredcolour.Sheissubjecttofits
ofamorouspassion,whichmakeherheadhotandherbrainconfused9,andatthemomentof
enjoyment,shethrustshernailsintoherhusbandsflesh.Sheisofcholericconstitution,hard

Shankhini,orConchwoman.
TheHastiniisshortofstature;shehasastout,coarsebody,andherskin,iffair,isofadead
white;herhairistawny,herlipsarelarge;hervoiceisharsh,choked,andthroaty(voixdegorge)
andherneckisbent.Hergaitisslow,andshewalksinaslouchingmanner;oftenthetoesofone
footarecrooked.HerKamasalilahasthesavourofthejuicewhichflowsinthespringfromthe
elephantstemples.SheistardyintheArtofLove,andcanbesatisfiedonlybyprolonged
congress,infact,thelongerthebetter,butitwillneversufficeher.Sheisgluttonous,shameless,
andirascible.SuchistheHastini,orelephantwoman.
