INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS
1. This assignment contains question that is set in English.
2. Answer in English only.
3. Your assignment should be typed using 12 point Times New Roman
font and 1.5 line spacing.
4. You must submit your hardcopy assignment to your Facilitator and
ON-LINE via the MyVLE. Refer to the portal for instructions on the
procedures to submit your assignment on-line. You are advised to
keep a copy of your submitted assignment and proof of the
submission for personal reference. Your assignment must be
submitted on 21st 29th March 2015.
5. Your assignment should be prepared individually. You should not
copy another persons assignment. You should also not plagiarise
another persons work as your own.
EVALUATION
This assignment accounts for 60% of the total marks for the course.

The HR Department has strategic goals and objectives in order to improve the business
performance of its organization. The role of the HR Department in the strategic planning
process depends on the organization's view of HR Departments role. If the organization
views the HR Department as an equal partner in the strategic planning process, then the
role would include HR planning, recruitment, selection, training, managing, rewarding
and maintaining workforce -- which consists of pertinent decision-making of acquiring
and using the workforce is determined.
The purpose of this assignment is to give an opportunity:

goals and strategies of an organization;
Expose the trends, issues and challenges of HR planning, recruitment and
selection
To provide recommendations in enhancing the HR planning, recruitment and
selection practices in the organisation.

This assignment should be completed individually.


Your task:

Review of 5-7 research-based articles related to the dynamic role of HRPRS in


organisations.

Conduct a mini survey or interview with the HR Manager of any specific


organisation of your choice.
You are required:
a. Briefly describe the organisation of your choice. Provide relevant
information and make the operating environment clear. Do not disclose
the name of the organisation unless you have obtained permission from
the management
b. To examine the reasons why HRPRS are conducted and its relative worth
to the goals and strategies of the organisation
c. To determine what are the trends, issues and challenges of HRPRS
conducted by the organisation

Provide fresh recommendations to enhance the HRPRS for the organization as


we know that HRPRS is an organizational activity which is carried out to align
characteristics of individuals with jobs in ways that will result in desired HR
outcomes.

Grading:
The assignment will be graded based on both content as well as presentation. You may
receive a low marks due to poor presentation, even if the content is adequate.
Presentation includes spelling, grammar, sentence and paragraph structure, continuity and
transitions between paragraphs, headings, and other mechanics of expository writing.
