George,
In addition to the concerns already expressed by the Staff, the USSS Protective Detail is now inquiring
about options for any possible Air Security during the Saturday event. Although there are no know
threats at this time, they are aware that the site is near the river and along a heavily used helicopter
route so they do have some safety concerns. They do usually draw attention from low flying aircraft
when they do outdoor events so they are concerned about the obvious risks which could be present if
additional air traffic does show up and loiter in the area with the other transient aircraft that are
normally operating in that area.
We would like to have your input and advice as you certainly know the airspace better than we do.
At a minimum, the Detail would like to have a contact number for the ATC desk who will be responsible
for the airspace in question.
