1) Bhagat Singh was born on 28 September 1907 to Kishan Singh and Vidyavati at Chak

No. 105, GB, Banga village , Jaranwala Tehsil in the Lyallpur district of the Punjab
Province of British India. He was Born into a Sikh family which had earlier been
involved in revolutionary activities against the British Raj.
2) Chandra Shekhar Azad was born on 23 July 1906 in Bhavra village, in the present-day
Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Azad died at Alfred Park in Allahabad on 27
February 1931 when he went to the city to meet with a revolutionary colleague,
Sukhdev Raj.
3) Mangal Pandey was born on 19 July 1827 in Nagwa, a village of upper Ballia district,
Uttar Pradesh, in a [ Brahmin] family. He joined the East India Company's army in
1849 at the age of 22. Mangal Pandey's execution was scheduled for April 18, but was
carried out ten days before that date. Jemadar Ishwari Prasad was executed by
hanging on April 21.
4) Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar (also known
as Sudamapuri), a coastal town on the Kathiawar Peninsula and then part of the small
princely state of Porbandar in the Kathiawar Agency of the British Indian Empire.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was assassinated in the garden of the former Birla
House (now Gandhi Smriti) at 5:17 PM on 30 January 1948. Accompanied by his
grandnieces, Gandhi was on his way to address a prayer meeting, when his assassin,
Nathuram Godse, fired three bullets from a Beretta 9 mm pistol into his chest at pointblank range.
5) Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14 November 1889 in Allahabad in British India. His
father, Motilal Nehru (18611931), a wealthy barrister who belonged to the Kashmiri
Pandit community, served twice as President of the Indian National Congress during
the Independence Struggle. His mother, Swaruprani Thussu (18681938), who came
from a well-known Kashmiri Brahmin family settled in Lahore, was Motilal's second
wife, the first having died in child birth.
6) There have been four known assassination attempts on Nehru. The first attempt on his
life was during partition in 1947 while he was visiting NWFP (now in Pakistan) in a car.
The second one was by a knife-wielding rickshaw-puller in Maharashtra in 1955.The
third one happened in Bombay (now Maharashtra) in 1956.The fourth one was a failed
bombing attempt on train tracks in Maharashtra in 1961.Despite threats to his life,
Nehru despised having too much security around him and did not like to disrupt traffic
due to his movement. Nehru's health began declining steadily after 1962, and he spent
months recuperating in Kashmir through 1963.
7) Ambedkar was born into a poor low Mahar caste in the town and military cantonment
of Mhow in the Central Provinces (now in Madhya Pradesh). He was the 14th and last
child of Ramji Maloji Sakpal and Bhimabai. Since 1948, Ambedkar had been suffering
from diabetes. He was bed-ridden from June to October in 1954 owing to side-effects
from his medication and failing eyesight. He had been increasingly embittered by
political issues, which took a toll on his health. His health worsened during 1955. Three
days after completing his final manuscript The Buddha and His Dhamma, Ambedkar
died in his sleep on 6 December 1956 at his home in Delhi.
