Statement of Philosophy
Council of Alternative Systems of Medicines (CASM) firmly believes that any one in the World to be
deserve the opportunity to receive the highest quality of health care, with the broadest range of care
options. In keeping with this set of beliefs.
CASM is organized to educate and develop health care professionals, including those already in
health care practice, to serve the public.
CASM envisions the creation of a health care system that is cost effective and meets the needs of our
society.
As an independent institution, the CASM primarily relies on private resources, along with available
government resources to offer programs which meet current and changing health care needs of
society.
The learning community of the Council seeks to cultivate a renewed sense of purpose and leadership
within each individual and to promote an enduring search for knowledge, influence and excellence in
human and medical service.
Those who matriculate are required to demonstrate a broad understanding and competency in
health care and maintain a commitment to intellectual development, medical practice, and
scholarship in complementary, alternative and integrative medicine.
Mission Statement
Council of Alternative Systems of Medicines (CASM) is a professional organisation and the only
institution of higher education in the India with a curriculum of integration of various medical
modalities . Its mission is to implement academic programs that integrate instruction, research, and
public service for integrative health care.
The Council is dedicated to bringing insight in encouraging individuals to take the initiative to employ
preventive measures to alleviate illness, suffering, premature death, and chronic degenerative
disease.
Council of Alternative Systems of Medicines incorporated with the Act XXVI of 1961,Govt. of
West Bengal, India to achieve the following objectives :
To distinguish different Alternative systems of Medicines according to its own philosophy.
To spread the systems of medicines as far as possible through the medicines which will
have no bad reaction and which are non poisonous.
To assess the qualities of different systems of medicines.
To stop the complexity and monopoly of the Medical treatment.
To make the treatment easily available to the mankind of all level.
To simplify the medical education and to help the poor derive its benefit.
To help the people of some education to make themselves independent after teaching
them these Alternative Systems of Medicines.
To help the nation too arrive at the goal that in the 20th Century Health will be for all.
Democratising higher education by taking alternative medical education to the doorsteps of
the students.
Providing access to high quality of education to all those who seek it, irrespective of age,
region, or formal qualifications.
Offering need-based academic programmes by giving professional and vocational
orientation to the courses.
Promoting and developing alternative medical education worldwide.
Academic Programs
The council offers programs leading to Diploma, Bachelor or Post-graduate. Most of these
programs have been developed after an initial survey of the demand for such studies. They are
launched with a view to fulfill the students need for:

Course Material
Learning materials are prepared for the course by teams of experts drawn from conventional
universities, medical institutions and professionals from all over the country and in-house faculty.
These materials are edited by the content experts, and language experts at CASM before they are
finally sent to the press. Printed course material is supplied to all students and their cost is
covered in the program fee.

Admission Procedure
1. Before taking admission, student should collect the ADMISSION FORM from the study center
or he/she can download the same from CASM website www.casm.in
2. Fill the admission form and submit it to the CASM study center.
* Before filling the Admission form student should go through the prospectus carefully and
admission form should be filled in by the students own hand writing in English.
* Name of the student and the address to which communication to be sent should be started in
capital letters. Student's residential address should be given for communication.
* No column of the admission form should be left blank.
* Admission will be given subject to the eligibility of the student.
3. While submitting the admission form at study center, student must carry one sets of xerox
copies of Original Certificates attested by a Gazetted Officer and self attested too along with the
relevant course fee for the first semester of first year ( as the case may be ) in the form of
Demand Draft or Cash.
4. Details of xerox copies of the Original Certificate to be carried are as follows :* 10th Marksheet / Certificate ( as evidence of Date of Birth )
* 10+2 Marksheet / Certificate
* Degree Marksheet / Certificate
* ID Proof
* Experience Certificate ( If required )
* 6 Passport size Photographs
( if any malpractice in providing the xerox copies of the original Certificates is found at the time
of admission or a later stage, admission will be cancelled ).
5. The Center Coordinator would verify the Admission Form, attested xerox copies of the Original
Certificates and Demand Draft.
6. The study Center coordinator would properly assemble all the documents and sent them in
good condition to CASM
7. On finding all the document and Demand Draft satisfactory CASM would issue the Enrollment
No. and the identity card .
Examination Center
Examination center will be fixed in one or more places in each region depending upon the
strength of the students. The examination center would be a nearby recognized school or college
in the vicinity of the study center, keeping in mind that student do not have to travel much for
appearing in the examination.
