Sa eksenang iyon ay aking nasabi, “Sayang at namatay ang

Si Rizal ay pinatay ng mga Kastila noong December 30, 1896,
sa Bagumbayan, Luneta. Ang kanyang kamatayan ang
nagpalaya sa atin mula sa mapang-aliping pamahalaan ng
mga Kastila.
Si Ninoy ay pinaslang ng diktadura ni Marcos noong Au-
gust 21, 1983, sa tarmac ng Manila International Airport. Ang
kanyang kamatayan ang nagsilbing tanglaw ng Edsa People
Power Revolution na nagdulot ng kalayaang tinatamasa natin
ngayon.
Si Rizal ay may Francisco na namatay matapos isilang. Si
Ninoy ay may Noynoy na pinalad mabuhay at ngayon ay
kandidatong Pangulo ng ating bansa.
Hindi tayo nabiyayaan ng pagkakataong mapamunuan
ng anak ng isang bayani noon, sapagka’t agad kinuha ng
Tadhana ang bugtong na anak ni Rizal. Ngayon, kaharap
natin ang pagkakataong mapamunuan ng anak ng isang
bayani – si Noynoy.
Ang ganitong pagkakataon ay bihirang mangyari sa
kasaysayan ng isang bansa. Ang Tadhana ang lumilikha ng
ganitong pagkakataon.
Ang darating na halalan ay makasaysayan sa ating bansa,
sapagka’t ang desisyong gagawin ng ating mga kababayan ay
ang pagpili o hindi pagpili sa anak ng isang bayani, bilang
Pangulo ng ating bayan.
Palalampasin ba natin ang bihirang pagkakataon, na ang
ating bansa ay mapamunuan ng supling ng isang pambansang
bayani?
Si Noynoy ay bunga ng mabuting puno. Amang may busilak
na pagmamahal sa mga Filipino at matayog na pagpapahalaga
sa kalayaan ng bansa at inang simbolo ng demokrasya at walang
habid katiwalian ang pangalan.
Ang ating Panginoong Hesus mismo ang nagwika, “kung
ano ang puno ay siyang bunga.”
Si Ninoy ay matatag, maganda at malilim na puno na bayani
ng ating bayan, kaya’t ang kanyang bunga na si Noynoy ay
maaasahan nating magiging mabuting puno katulad ng kanyang
ama. Sa edad na 49, wala ni isang katiwalian ang naibato kay
Noynoy.
Ang Diyos mismo ang nagsabi na ang mabuting puno ay
pinanggagalingan ng mabuting bunga, kaya’t maniwala tayo.
Mas mabuting maniwala sa salita ng Diyos, kaysa ng tao na
magpapahamak sa atin.
Sa darating na halalan, maging bahagi tayo sa paglikha ng
kasaysayan, maki-isa tayo sa pagluluklok sa anak ng isang
pambansang bayani, bilang bagong Pangulo ng ating bansa.
Huwag nating palampasin ang makasaysayang pagkakataong
ito, na inihain sa atin ng ating Poong Maykapal.
Sa darating na halalan, maghalal tayo ng anak ng bayani
bilang Pangulo ng ating bansa – si Noynoy Aquino.

petroleum products by P1 per liter.
Petron said it raised the prices of its gaso-
line, diesel and kerosene effective 12 noon
Tuesday.
Phoenix Petroleum said its fuel adjustment
of P1 per liter would cover only gasoline and
diesel and take effect midnight Tuesday.
Seaoil on the other hand, implemented its
price hike early morning of Feb. 23.
Eastern Petroleum said it also implemented
the same price hike in its diesel, gasoline and

SC says Gloria can run for Congress
THERE is no legal barrier for President Arroyo’s bid to run for
congress in Pampanga.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court dismissed the petition filed by
Akbayan Representative Risa Hontiveros-Baraquel.
Baraquel, in her petition seeking to reverse earlier decision
of Commission on Elections (Comelec), told SC that Comelec
erred in its reading of Section 4, Article VII of the 1987 Consti-
tution.
However, SC spokesman Atty Jose Midas Marquez said the High
Tribunal found no indication that there was grave abuse of discre-
tion on the part of the Comelec when it junked the disqualification
filed by Baraquel.
In her arguments, Baraquel said, Section 4, Article VII provision
makes two prohibitions – an absolute ban on any reelection for an
incumbent President, and a prohibition on reelection for the presi-
dency against an individual who succeeded as President and who

THE Department of education (DepEd)
has ordered public and private schools to
keep their graduation rites for batch 2010
politics-free.
Education Secretary Jesli Lapus, in his
Department Order No. 12, also ordered
schools to keep their graduation rites sol-
emn yet simple and austere.
“The graduating rites should be con-
ducted in an appropriate solemn ceremony
befitting the graduating students and their
parents and shall not in any way be used
as a venue for political forum,” said in the
order.
In the past, many schools usually invite
political figures to speak at graduation rites.
During election time, these politicians
take the opportunity to campaign before
their captured audience, in particular to
parents and guests of the graduating stu-
dent.
Lapus reiterated the department’s policy
on the conduct and collection of fees for
graduation rites, where public schools are
not allowed to collect graduation fees or
any contribution for graduation rites.
While the Parents Teachers Association
(PTA), however, may solicit minimal vol-
untary contributions from members for
graduation ceremonies and celebration,
teachers and principals should not be in-

A famous landmark paying
tribute to the bravery displayed
by Filipinos during the first EDSA
revolution will be receiving a
spectacular new nighttime look
when it will be outfitted with
state-of-the-art light emitting
diode (LED) technology cour-
tesy of leading lighting com-
pany Philips.
The People Power Monu-
ment, which is located at the
corner of Temple Hill Drive and
EDSA in Quezon City, is the latest
world landmark to be illuminated
using Philips’ new LED fixtures,
which includes the ClearLine,
ColorBlast, eW Cove Powercore
and Projector LED lamps.
Each element in the system
will serve a specific purpose
in the monument’s lighting plan
and can be remotely controlled,
taking full advantage of the
design flexibility offered by the
new system.
ColorBlast units will be po-
sitioned facing the human fig-
ures in the sculpture to provide
fully-customizable changing
wall-washing effects and shift-
ing saturated colors. A Philips
lighting controller or DMX5 12-
compatible third-party control-
lers can be used to remotely
manipulate the fixtures.
Meanwhile, a compact Pro-
jector LED unit, designed to
work well with sculptures, arches
and gardens, will be trained on
Ninoy Aquino’s figure, provid-
ing powerful spotlight effects
without risk of overheating.
Tight spaces and accent ar-
eas in the monument will be
reinforced with eW Cove
Powercore fixtures, which de-
liver continuous streams of
white light for curves and other
shaped effects without the need
of an external power supply.
Finally, large ClearLine street
lamps will be positioned around
the perimeter of the sculpture
to provide overhead lighting.
The new range of solid-state
LED lighting offers an unprec-
edented level of flexibility in
terms of color, control, dynam-
ics, and architectural integra-
tion, which Philips hopes will
help build the identity of the
structure and make it resonate
more powerfully with onlookers.
Vivid saturated colors, fully-di-
rected light, unobtrusive and vi-
bration-proof solid-state fix-
tures, and minimal light pollu-
tion will all be the hallmarks of
the new lighting system.
The LED lighting technology
that will be used also is also
extremely efficient and requires
80% less energy than a simi-
lar scheme using conventional
incandescent and halogen
lamps. There will also be no
unwanted IR or UV radiation in
the beam of light, which mini-
mizes the risk of pigment or
textile fading.

turbines producing electricity

speeds, but at high-wind
velocity, bugs on the blades

A buildup of sin in a
Christian’s life can be a prob-
lem as well. God has pro-
