Summary
I am an accomplished executive level member of the Broome County Sheriffs Office
who has dedicated his career and life to the service of others. I continuously seek to
serve the public, both within and outside of my official capacity with the Broome
County Sheriffs Office. Loyalty and service to others is what motivates me to be
successful in my career.
Accomplishments
I am currently the Undersheriff for the County of Broome. I have 15 years of
experience in the field of law enforcement. I spent the first five years of my career in
uniform before being promoted to the Detective Division. There, I worked in a variety of
assignments including working in an undercover capacity, working involved narcotics
investigations and murder for hire investigations. Since my promotion to the Detective
Division, I have promoted through the ranks of the department ultimately obtaining
my current appointment by Sheriff David E. Harder to Undersheriff of Broome County.
I have dedicated my life to my profession and the people we serve. I seek only to
achieve success through focused vision, commitment and teamwork.

Appointed-June 2015
I am currently second in command of the Broome County Sheriffs Office. It is my sole
duty to serve Sheriff David E. Harder to the best of my ability and to ensure that his
policies and vision for the Office of the Sheriff are implemented efficiently. I am
charged with the ultimate supervision of all Divisions within the agency. I currently
have 250 employees under my command.
Captain-Law Enforcement Division

As the Captain, I was charged with the overseeing the Law Enforcement Division
within the Broome County Sheriffs Office. This command entails the ultimate
supervision of all law enforcement officers, uniformed, as well as the Detective
Division. I oversaw every major investigation and incident that involved this Agency
and ensured that the protection and service to the public was performed in the most
effective and efficient manner possible. As Captain, I held the responsibility of
ensuring that the Law Enforcement Division remained accredited through the New
York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, a duty that I held in the highest
regard. It was also my responsibility to prepare and manage the annual budget for the
Law Enforcement Division. While serving in this capacity I had 47 employees under
my command.

During my tenure in this position I was charged with the supervision of a 13 man
Narcotics Taskforce. The Taskforce was and continues to be a multi-agency led effort
to eradicate our community of dangerous narcotics and the people who choose to
distribute them. As a Detective Sergeant within the Broome County Sheriffs Office I
was also responsible for supervising major investigations at an operational level.
Prior to my supervisory role, I was a detective assigned to this unit and worked in a
very involved undercover capacity which required me to focus my efforts on crimes
ranging from prostitution, narcotics conspiracies and murder for hire conspiracies.

I am a graduate of the 247th Session of the FBI National Academy. While at Quantico,
VA I studied various topics at an administrative level including Death Investigations,
International Legal Issues, Media Relations, Ethics and Decision Making and Forensic
Investigations. Upon completion of the FBI National Academy, I earned 17 college
credits from the University of Virginia for my studies during the Academy.
