HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 82-84; 1 Corinthians 4
Monday, August 10

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS MIRACLES

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 85-87; 1 Corinthians 5
Tuesday, August 11

Heb. 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without
shedding of blood is no remission.

Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus,
thou Son of the most high God?

Lord, My Loving God:

Nowhere in the Bible were sins removed without blood-shedding. In no
way and by no means can sin be forgiven without atonement. So it is clear there
is no hope for my friends or family outside of Jesus Christ, because there is no
other blood that was shed that is worthy as an atonement for sin. But do they
know this? Many people say they believe in Jesus, but are they trusting in his
shed blood? Has that blood been applied to their souls?
All of us Lord, are on the same level as to our need of you. I know
__________, and he is moral, generous, friendly, and (after terror attacks)
patriotic. But the rules are not bent for them. The stain of their sin will be lifted
by nothing but the blood of the one God sent to be a propitiation for their sins.
What a blessing it is you provided a way of pardon. Now grant faith in that
way Lord, to __________ so she can be saved as well as saintly. Her sins can be
forgiven for Christs sake today. Use me to tell her that immediately.
Oh Lord, my friends! All their works and prayers and ceremonies give them
a small measure of security. Well may they be anxious and uneasy, and feel guilty
without the blood. There is no remission of sin without blood. God, you
punished sin justly when you laid it on your only begotten Son. It is vain for
anyones conscience to be convicted by sin if they do not fall down to kiss the
feet of Jesus. The only reconciliation with God and the only restoration of my
guilty conscience is a sight of Jesus suffering on the cross for me.
Life is in the blood. It is the life of faith, joy, and every grace. Help me give
others a divine assurance as to how they can be saved for Jesus sake. Amen.

Mighty Master:
The question from this unclean spirit almost makes it look like the Devil
pleaded with you not to show off your power. He implies his possession of this
zombie, this walking dead, was surely too insignificant for the mighty Messiah
to concern himself with. Such is the craft of Satan. Such is the deceitfulness of
sin. It will crouch at my feet, whining to be left alone. Satan knows full well my
Lord, your mighty power. The very shadow of my Bible when I open it
makes him quake. Though the Devil cannot repent, and evil spirits cannot turn,
yet they are cowered, and crave not to be completely cast out.
I thank you Lord, you have not made it easy for me, because then I would
never drive-out the little sins from their high places. You have nothing but love
for me, and the desire and design that I never rest until I rest in you. It is far too
often (because of pride that comes with a full wallet and a fat heartgrowing out
of material prosperity and affluence) that even I am tempted to say, What have I
to do with thee, Jesus? And of this I most solemnly repent.
Let me never claim the right to be left alone! I need your Spirit
convicting me, and I need your work of power to free me. Some say, This is a
free country; stay out of my business. When I let the Devil alone he lets me
alone, but who wants to live like that! Why should I not be a spiritually daring
soul, even if I know hardship in the process?
Never let me claim the right to live in blindness or lie in prison. Disturb my
peace. Wake me up; I want revival! Cast my sins into a sea of forgetfulness, and
overthrow my lusts so I might serve you better. Do this miracle Jesus, for me.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 91-93; 1Corinthians 7
Thursday, August 13

Matt. 14:26-27 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were
troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto
them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

ETERNAL Father, strong to save, whose arm does bind the restless wave,
Who bids the mighty ocean deep its own appointed limits keep;
O Savior, whose almighty word the winds and waves submissive heard,
Who walked upon the foaming deep, and calm amid the rage did sleep;
O Holy Spirit, who did brood upon the waters dark and rude,
And bid their angry tumult cease, and give for wild confusion peace;
O Trinity of love and powr,
Your children shield in dangers hour;
From rock and tempest, fire, and foe,
Protect them where-so-eer they go;
Thus, evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

William Whiting, 1851

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 94-96; 1Corinthians 8
Friday, August 14

2 Chron. 29:31 Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated
yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of
the LORD.
Dear Lord, God and Maker:
We ask for a more perfect consecration so everything we have and
everything we are is yoursnot in name, but in deed and in truth. We ask,
because consecration will bring us fruitfulness. Help us produce the fruits of
the Spirit to the glory of God. May our character get more beautiful every day.
May Christ trace his artistic work on the sketchpad of our lives, till he has
produced in us a perfect picture. Make us the copies of the character of Christ!
Lord, make us fit for eternity and for the purpose you have for us. We long
to be with you now, therefore we long for you to be with us here. But are we
unready to go to you? Go on Holy Spirit, with your patient work, and with the
work of patience. Make us heavenly so we will be ready for heavenly places.
In the meantime, let us build up your body and bride! So teach us your
word in our experience, and not just in our minds. Fill us with your Holy Spirit
today. Hear your Son plead with us today. We give him the right of first reply.
Make his will done even if it means ours is not.
Standing now before the throne of God without fear, we ask you humbly to
bless our nation. Look on us and guide us in righteousness as we elect our
leaders. Bring us out of our disasters to lie penitent at your feet.
Give us a church even more influential in our community! Let our lives, as
salt in the world, make the lost thirsty for the living water they can only find in
you. Jesus died for it and purchased it. Now help us dispense it to the glory of his
name, and for his sake, by his power in grace! Amen.

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 88-90; 1 Corinthians 6
Wednesday, August 12

Zech. 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the
LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the
LORD of hosts.
Reviving Spirit of God!
Face to face with spiritual death, aware of the fact I cannot remove it, and
fully understanding only the Holy Spirit by a work of your grace can quicken dead
souls, what am I to do?
1. Make me feel deeply humbled, emptied of self, and crucified in Christ
2. Make me give myself to prayer before I work, prayer in my work, and
prayer after I work
I have the absolute need of you Holy Spirit, because you give a thousand
groans and cries for every sentence I utter. When church is done, your work is
just begun in hearts. The sermons I hear are just the text for day-long prayer. I
cry to you continually today to anoint me with heavenly oil! Let the Spirit of God
be on me, that I may preach deliverance to the captives of sin.
This week I will not let my pastor preach without my prayers. I will
bear his sermons up in my supplication. I feel like my attendance at church will
be empty unless you, Holy Ghost, are pleased to bless the word!
I have been working without prayer. I am not going to stop working, but I
am going to start praying. Not prayer as in just words or a formula, but as the
very life of my labor. Lord Jesus, make the habit of prayer continual with me, so I
neither begin any day with God, nor carry it on, nor conclude it without crying to
you for more of the Holy Spirit to be with me, to make all my work and all my
walk effective for Christ by his almighty power!
These things I need for Jesus sake and his glory alone. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 97-99; 1Corinthians 9
Saturday, August 15

Psa. 41:3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt
make all his bed in his sickness.
Lord I Cry to You:
I claim this Psalm as a promise for those who consider the poor (verse 1). I
meet many poor in spirit every day. To consider means I must instruct, give skill,
teach, make to understand, make wise, and guide them wittingly. Let that be my
mission this weekend and next Wednesday, because then this promise is mine!
When I am down, make me do something. In my hour of languishing
(sorrow) you, as the God of the weak and needy, will bless me as I minister truth
to the weak and needy. Let everlasting arms lift up my soul from the doldrums.
This is how to deal with depression! If I am bored and not depressed, then let
boredom teach me the real insignificance of this life, and the significance of you.
How near you come to my infirmities of mind, body and emotions. Who
ever hears this about the old gods of the pagans or Greeks? Who ever hears this
about the gods of India, China or Allah? This language is unique to my Heavenly
Father. You become my nurse and attendant when I take ministry to others.
Though you smite with one hand, you still sustain with the other.
It is a blessed fainting if, when falling, I land in your arms Lord, and get
carried on from there. Grace is the best medicine! Divine Fatherly love is the
safest stimulant! It makes my soul as strong as a giant (even when my bones are
breaking).
There is no doctor like you, Lord. There is no tonic like your word. There is
no wine like your love. If I have failed in my duty to instruct the poor in spirit,
then today I see what I am losing. Make me their friend and helper, and guide to
Christ. For I ask it in Jesus precious name. Amen.

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.

INSTRUCTIONS:

!
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.

MONDAY

This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
