NoorHsian Mohs Noor anon) und - MESSRS NOORHAJRAN MOHD NOOR Advocates & Solicitors No. 41, Jalan $$ 14/86, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan. ‘m: #6013-335 7988 t: +603-5637 3308 f: 4603-5637 3308 e: hajran2S@gmail.com Please-Call For Appointments Dated: 31 July 2015 PRESS RELEASE The legal firm of Messrs Noorhajran Mohd Noor is authorized by Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor to issue this Press Release in relation to John Berthelsen’s article posted on 30” July 2015 with the headline; Malaysian PM's Wife Seeks Central Bank Governor's Ouster. * The following are excerpts taken in verbatim from the said article. vi. The article stated * Two powerful women take center stage in spreading scandal as government clings to power Prime Minister Najib Razak’s wife Rosmah Mansor is said by knowledgeable sources in Kuala Lumpur to be trying to drive Bank Negara Governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz out of the central bank in revenge for leaks of Rosmah's personal financial details and because of a fear that Zeti has deiailed information on the {Malaysia Development Bhd scandal that could bring down the government and the prime minister.” - * The year-long scandal has paralyzed Malaysian politics and played a major role in bringing the economy to a stop as Najib twists and turns to keep his enemies at bay.” “ Rosmah is said to have gone after Zeti following the July 9 publication of details in the blog Sarawak Report of the deposit of RM2 million: [US$523,400] into the premier’s wife’s account in Affin bank, after which Rosmah demanded that Zeti find ‘out who leaked the transaction within 72 hours or resign”. “Another extremely well-informed source told Asia Sentinel that “I would totally believe that Ros mah would try to push Zeti out if she felt threatened’. “Bank Negara does have lots of smoking guns on all the dodgy bank transfer documentation, both involving Rosmah and also Najib, 1MDB ete.” “According. to one political analyist, Rosmah is believed to have been behind the dramatic move earlier this week to shuffle disloyal cabinet members, including Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, out of the government. My client's request emanates from her concer for the improper and outright breach of the publication of her personal account to the public. In her view if no positive action is taken to probe into the breach of her account, the same can also happen to the account of other banking consumers. This may erode the trust of investors and consumers of financial institutions. My client views this breach as being serious, hence the suggestion and hope that a probe be accorded within that timeline. Mr Berthelsen is at liberty to check with the Central Bank whether at any time subsequent to the lapse of 72 hours any enquiry has been made to the status of that probe either by this {egal firm and/or any person/s authorized by Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor. My client firmly denies the allegations made by Mr Berthelsen that she is to oust the Governor of the Central Bank. My client holds no authority, nor any harmful or malicious intent against the said Governor and/or anyone else. In the above circumstances, my client demands the following: 4. Unless Mr Berthelsen has full proof and justifications in making the above representations and imputations, he is to issue an unconditional and. voluntary apology to Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor on all the above allegations within the next 48 hours. : 2. In the right conscience of responsible journalism and reporting, some human decency must be observed, applied and taken into cognizance not to condemn and hold in contempt the right of others, 3. With regards responsible journalism, steps must be taken to verify the information published and the belief to be true as the result of a reasonable investigation. To my knowledge there has been no investigation against my client. 4. Should Mr Berthelsen finds the justifications and basis from all the knowledgeable, well informed sources of Asia Sentinel, academicians and political analyst (as referred by him in his Article) to be true; to surrender all information to the relevant authorities in the investigations within the next 48 hours. §. My client supports any lawful investigations by the relevant authorities in the matter. There must however not be a case of selective prosecution. vii. “...Rosmah is indeed trying get Zeti sacked, the most likely reason — beyond personal pique ~ is that the Bank Negara governor is in possession of a report forwarded to her on March 13 by the Monetary Authority of Singapore that is said to contain damaging information about accounts related to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd. financial scandal.” In the absence of hard evidence to support the above statements, the allegations made by Mr Berthelsen are deemed damning and damaging to the reputation of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor. ‘The insinuations and allegations are made with the intention to injure the reputation of Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor in her personal capacity and also as wife to the Prime Minister of Malaysia Words used by Mr Berthelsen in the aforementioned article are adversarial in nature, as those misinformed “facts” are highly skewered to connote and create a negative perception of Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor as the postings are in the public domain. It implies by such words amongst others *...of Rosmah to drive out and have gone after the Governor of the Central Bank, indeed trying to get Zeli sacked, revenge, demanded, resign, dodgy transfers, Rosmah behind the dramatic move to shuffle disloyal Cabinet out of Government "... are malicious lies and fabrication of facts to defame and cause injury to the reputation of Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor. A\ll the above allegations are strongly denied by my client. Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor has never demanded that Zeti find out who leaked the transaction within 72 hours or resign, as written by Mr Berthelsen. In the Press Release of July 10 2015 issued by this firm on behalf of Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor, the word use is“ it is hoped” that Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to immediately and/or within 72 hours conduct a probe and issue its findings into the offensive unauthorized disclosure on the part of the said Bank. There was no indication of going after the Governor in revenge for the leaks and/or demanding a resignation. ‘The statement is absolutely incorrect, mischievous and malicious.
