UNDISPUTED

INDUSTRY
PIONEERS

With over 60 years of proven

experience in progressing cavity
pump technology, R&M Energy
Systems, a business unit of Robbins
& Myers, Inc., is a name synonymous
with world-class leadership in progressing cavity oilfield products.
As the original North American
licensee of the Moineau patent in
1936, Robbins & Myers pioneered
the progressing cavity pump principle. Moyno pumps soon became
the industry standard, successfully
providing total pumping solutions
in thousands of applications.
The Moyno Down-Hole Pump is a
progressing cavity pump specifically
designed for crude oil extraction as

well as gas well dewatering. It is

capable of handling a wide range of
fluids from water and light crudes to
highly abrasive heavy oil. The rotary
action of the Moyno Down-Hole
Pump outperforms reciprocating
pumps, its operating efficiency
surpasses conventional electric
submersible pumps, and it is ideal
for gaseous formations because it
cannot gas lock. Efficient, versatile,
low-cost operation and long service
life make the Moyno Down-Hole
Pump the ideal choice for maximum
profitability. Today, the progressing
cavity pump in down-hole applications is one of the fastest growing
segments of the artificial lift industry.

In a Moyno down-hole pump, the rotor turns within the stator, forming cavities which progress from the suction
end to the discharge end of the pump, providing a relatively straight flow path and a constant, non-pulsating flow.
The continuous seal between the rotor and the stator helices keeps the fluid moving steadily, at a fixed rate directly
proportional to the rotational speed of the pump.

UNCHALLENGED
TECHNOLOGICAL
LEADERSHIP
After years of successfully manufacturing and marketing the progressing
cavity concept in oilfield surface
pumping applications, Robbins &
Myers achieved another first in 1955
successfully applying the progressing
cavity principle to hydraulic motor
applications. The Moyno rotor/stator
element became the prime mover for
a drill motor. This Robbins & Myers
technological development provided
an efficient, lasting, cost-competitive
drilling breakthrough, regardless of
down-hole drilling conditions. Based
upon the success of the progressing
cavity technology in oilfield surface
transfer and drill motor component
applications, the Moyno Down-Hole
Pump has been applied successfully
in thousands of applications throughout the world.
