Coursedescription:

This is the third and the fourth of a 6term language course and it aims at providing training in spoken and written
Spanish, oral practicethrough class interactionand essential grammatical structures. It goes one step deeper intothe
introductionoftheSpanishspeakingcountriessocietyandculture.Prerequisite:SPAN1001orequivalentcompetence.

Learningoutcomes:

Bytheendofthecourse,studentsshould:
1. have reviewed the previously studied grammar points and expanded the Spanish morphology and syntax and
reviewedandfixedalreadylearntbasicgrammarpatterns.
2. havemasteredtheSpanishsoundsandconfidentlypronouncethem
3. haveacquiredacoreactivevocabularyofSpanishofover700words
4. beabletointeractivelycommunicateinawidenumberofsocialsituationswiththeappropriateawarenessofthe
pragmaticrulesinvolvedbeabletowritecompositionsinSpanishusingpast,presentandfuturetenseindifferent
registersandstyles
