THE MONTGOMERY BAPTIST

Serving Christ Through Montgomery Area Churches

KEN MAY, DIRECTOR OF MISSIONS THURSDAY, MAY 28, 2015

A WORLDWIDE CELEBRATION

UPCOMING EVENTS

Lisa Rose | Director of Church and Community Ministries

When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall
treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him
as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Leviticus 19:33-34
The theme in the verse posted above was communicated over and over
again in testimonies given at the MBA Conversational English (CE)
graduation on May 7, 2015. Several students shared how teachers,
hospitality workers, van
drivers, and childcare workers
ministered to them and their
families this past year. There
were tears of gratitude over
how a group of strangers from
last September could become
fast friends over the course of
nine months. This is certainly
a tribute to our volunteers
allowing the Holy Spirit to work.

We celebrated over 350 registered students

from 50 countries this year. MBA
Conversational English School is deeply
grateful for the 27 churches who partnered
with the ministry through preparing and
serving snacks, donating vans and van
drivers, and of course our volunteers.
Appreciation goes especially to First
Baptist Church and Jane Ferguson for
donating their space every year as well as
providing a plethora of other needed items.
Your servant hearts are an example to us
all.
Special thanks to our CE coordinators - Sallie Finney, childcare; Jeff Mayton, transportation; and
Mary Ruth Wolf, hospitality
coordinator. They went above and
beyond in ministering to our students
and their families. I am also grateful to
our CE Director Susan West for her
creativity and enthusiasm throughout the
year. To God be the glory for the
GREAT ways He worked in students
lives through our volunteers.
If you are interested in serving through
the MBA Conversational English School
next year, contact CE Director Susan
West at Montgomeryceschool@yahoo.com or call the Montgomery
Baptist Association office at 334-271-6794.
