VeteranMod team presents to your attention
public demo of our mod for ArmA 3.
This version is designed primarily to demonstrate new and reviewed
features of the game, as well as the general direction of our work.
In the demo version includes :
system for equiping units, which includes body armor, universal transport
vests, helmets, hats and much more
extended injuries system and first aid
infantry units for the BLUE4 and RED4 - U.S. Marine Corps and Russian
Army Mechanized Infantry (RF MI), appropriate firearms both sides
RF MI Reconnaissance units
Irregular units, militias
varied firearms
reworked sounds for small arms
advanced simulation of fragments for hand grenades, RPGs and HE
rounds
backblast simulation for RPGs, MANPADS and handheld ATGMs
resting of weapons with bipods

The distribution terms


The presented version is not a finished product do not reflects the overall
condition of the product at the time of publication.
This demo version with limited content, contains problems and bugs.
The demo version is distributed on an "as is".
By accepting these terms and installing a demo version on your PC,
End User agrees that the authors of VeteranMod do not accept any liability
for unstable performance of ArmA 3.
In the mod we use 3D-models, textures, scripts and configs of a number of
authors listed below. Any changes modification without informing authors
of mod are not allowed. Any porting the contents or part of mod e.g.
models, textures, and scripts in the other modes of ArmA 3 and / or other
games are not allowed.
Please respect the work of the authors.
Installation
VeteranMod works with with current version of ArmA 3 (1.32)
Mod is compatible with TFAR radios addon.

Brief description of basic settings and use of
basic functions in the mod.
Keyboard Settings
VeteranMod uses additional keys which can be changed as you prefer. To
change those you need to select Options Controls Custom Controls.
Available action:

Keep in mind that you can only assign a single key. Shortcuts and mouse
buttons can not be assigned.
Bipod deployment
To reduce the recoil and improve the accuracy of fire, it is advisable to use
a bipods if firearm has them. The bipod can be deployed on any object of
suitable height - parapets, rocks, fences, window sills, cars, comrade
shoulder.

First aid module


During the firefight anyone can be injured and incapacitated. To maximise
chances of survival every soldier is equiped with personal first aid kit
(PFAK). The contents of the kit is sufficient to provide immediate medical
assistance to wounded soldier, stop bleeding, apply a pain reliever.
Important: Do not attempt to provide first aid if you not familiar with it! You
will only worsen the condidtion of the wounded, which ultimately leads to
his death.
If you do not know what to do:
WAIT FOR QUALIFIED MEDIC.
The contents of the First Aid Kit
Each soldier is carrying a first aid kit, the contents of which standardized.
In a first aid kit includes IDP (Individual dressing packet), burn and pain
reliever (BLUE4 uses morphine, RED4 uses trimeperidine).
Fundamentals
Prior to the provision of medical assistance to the wounded , make sure
you and your patient are not at risk: during first aid procedures you are the
perfect target for the enemy. Do not try to assist in the open field, find safe
place and move wounded there.
Remember wounding system in VeteranMod is not formulaic and bullet hit/
fragment of the same caliber in the same part of the the body can cause
injury of totally different severity. Do not try to help with one and the same
pattern!
Actions during application
After moving the wounded to a safer place, first of all, make sure that your
PFAK is in place and has everything you need. If your PFAK is already
used, use the first aid kit of the victim. Then examine the wounded, it will
give you an idea of how serious damage he sustained. You can
immediately identify visually Lightly wounded: victim is conscious, in pain,
screaming or moaning. Typically this kind of wound soldier can handle
himself without the help from medic.
Examine the patient and learn the symptoms of. In case of bleeding apply
bandage, with a state of shock use painkiller. With heavy bleeding use
tourniquet. It is recommended after application to re-examine wounded
and control the symptoms.

In more severe injury case like loss of consciousness, low or absent pulse,
difficulty with breathing - the content of PFAK may not be sufficient to
provide full assistance.
Inspect the wounded and stop the blood with bandage or tourniquet and
bandage. Inject painkillers and wait for medic while covering the wounded
comrade.
If you're familiar with the rules of first aid and you have appropriate
equipment with you (medics bag, ambulance vehicle), then you can
immediately provide comprehensive medical help to wounded of any
severity.
Use duct when breathing is impaired, use the cardiac massage and
anapnotherapy in case of cardiac arrest and weak pulse use epinephrine
and smelling salts to bring back to consciousness.
Life of wounded comrade is entirely in your hands! And his death result of
your incompetent action - on your conscience.

Sights
Modern small arms and heavy weapons are often equipped with different
types of sights: mechanical open, diopter, optical, collimator. Often one
firearm uses several types of sighting mechanisms. To switch between
them default key / on the numeric keypad. The same button is used to
switch between the different scopes in VeteranMod.
Some weapon types, such as as rifle under barrel or anti-tank rocket
launchers have mechanical sights. Open or diopter type which allow to
hit targets at various distances from the particular mechanical sights.
Switching is performed with the same key - /.
RPG-7V2 is equipped with two types of sights, open-mechanical for night
shooting at a distance of 100 m and an optical PGO-7V3.

Inventory system
VeteranMod modulates various types carrying/transport vests. Vests of
different types with different pouches for different magazines like rifle
magazines or grenades for under barrel grenade launchers.
Vest with pouches for AK-74 can be used only to stores magazines for AK
family, M16 assault rifles and M4 carbines. If you want to carry ammo for
MG you need to have a vest with pouches for MG belts or boxes otherwise
the rifleman will be able to carry only one box/belt - the one that is used the
weapon. RPG rockets are transported exclusively in backpacks/containers
for rocket launcher by assistant. In the inventory you can carry only one
rocket - the one which is "loaded" in the RPG/AT you are carrying.
When you take vest you must take into account the number and type of
pouches, intelligently distribute ammunition. This primarily applies to
grenadiers, riflemen with AT launchers, machine gunners.
Depending on the objectives part of the ammunition which were not
included in the vest, can be transferred to the raid backpack or distributed
between soldiers of one unit.
