THEO 141 PRACTICUM PROGRAM CONSOLIDATED GROUP REPORT should

contain the following information (and specific format):

I.

Introduction

You should be able to give preliminaries concerning the practicum as you understand it
and as it was presented to you. You may need to anchor your discussion on some of the
topics which we covered in class, topics along the lines of Social Commitment, Social
Justice, Social Analysis, Principles of the Catholic Social Teaching, Churchs Mission
and Social Doctrine, Pastoral Cycle, among others.
Part of the introduction could also include some brief information on your group
members, as well as some personal statements on your individual understanding of
what it means to imbibe the principle of the doing of the faith at the service of justice
and "becoming men and women for others" who endeavor to contribute, in your own
small way, the transformation of human society.

II.

Presentation of Data

SEEING
Narrative Summary of What Occurred During the First Visit - I expect a summative
presentation on what took place during the first Sunday (Integration Day). You could
insert some documentation in this section.
Narrative Summary of What Occurred During the Service Day - Again, I want you to
highlight what you set out to do on the second Sunday (Service Day), including some
statements on what you intended to do (planning) and how you intended to do them
(execution). Again, you could insert some documentation in this section.
Another component of the narrative is the presentation of data which you gathered
pertaining to the communitys social, economic, political, cultural and religious
conditions. You identify only what aspect/s of the communitys social, economic,
political, cultural and religious conditions which you, as a group, wish to highlight
according to their level of importance. As stated earlier, you could insert in this section
some documentation, such as photos, compact CD, etc.
General Impressions - I expect each of your group members to post their individual
impressions based on the following question: "What significant learning experiences did
I get from the two-Sunday immersion periods in my area of exposure?" Each group
member is given a maximum of a paragraph (5 sentences) to post their reflections in this
section.

JUDGING
Cite at least six significant principles of the Catholic Social Teachings (CST) and apply
these principles into your groups experience(s) while immersing in your area of
exposure.

ACTING
If given the opportunity to perform extra service time, what else would you have done (as
a student and member of civil society) in extending your skill, time, resources, etc., as
part of the process of addressing some socio-economic concerns of the people in your
area of exposure?
III.

General Assessment of the Theo 141 Practicum Program

I expect your group to make an evaluation of the Theo 141 Practicum Program,
highlighting the following points: thrust, goals, objectives, relevance, time element,
planning, etc. I expect your group to include recommendations on how best to improve
the succeeding practicum in the given area of exposure.
IV.
