Project background
The Indian Maharashtra Arogya Mandal operates different social facilities like
hospitals, education centres and hostels in Pune. The water supply in this place is
mainly operated with trucks and private wells or public water taps. The project site is
located in a region where there is high demand for irrigation water .

To meet the huge demand of water for horticulture and gardening.
System in brief
The wastewater from different sources is collected in decentralised septic tanks and
the effluent from all the septic tanks is then collected in a common register near the
treatment system, which consists of the following modules : Settler, Baffled reactor,
Planted gravel filter and Collection tank.
1. Settler is a sedimentation tank for retaining particles by settling over a specific time
frame.
