All meter events can be entered manually by calling the appropriate dialog box. The supported
meter events can be restricted at the location business type level for the interface upload or the online
transaction.

These services are currently available from the meter maintenance dialog screen and are activated by
push-buttons or menu calls. Each dialog box is called up using a function interface.

This transaction provides the same functionality as the meter readings upload for online maintenance
of the meter history.

The process is equivalent to meter readings upload and the required data is identical.

The business location type is the primary means of categorization of business locations. You
therefore have to select a type when you create a business location master record. The business
location type typically describes the:
Function of the business location (for example, depot or service station).
Nature of the relationship (for example, company-owned/dealer-operated service station or dealerowned/dealer-operated service station) of the business location to your own organization.

You use this categorization to control which processing parameters apply to the business location,
and the screen output for maintenance and display of master data.

SSR Performance Test I

SAP and the Fujitsu Siemens Competence Center conducted a

SSR performance test

Test volumes
4000 locations were set-up, 4000 attached plants, 8000
competitor locations, 4000 business partners (customers)
6 Materials were assigned to each locations with meters
82 Card trx./location : 50 debit card, 29 credit card, 3 fleet card
Besides the high performance figures that were achieved, good
scalability could be observed throughout the different
measurements.
SSR is designed to provide a flexible and high
performance system for the service station business.

The business type is a key to identify the different types of business in the SSR environment. These
could be Fuels, Car-wash, or C-store.

You assign a retail network business type to a business location to supplement the control of screen
output and processing options provided by the business location type.

Specifically, the assignment of a business type to a location allows you to:

Simplify maintenance and display of business location master data by linking screen output to type
of business
Control object links to align these with type of business
Align authorization for displaying and maintaining master data with type of business

For example, if you require bulk fuel processing functionality for a location, you assign the
corresponding business type to that business location. You can then authorize display and
maintenance of fuel-related business location master data to those responsible for this business. By
accessing the business location master with that business type, the authorized person can then display
or maintain data relating to the fuels business (for example, meter data, competitor list, and price
control data.). If further lines of business, such as car wash facilities and convenience store retailing,
are carried out at the location, you can assign the corresponding business types to enable the
appropriate processing and master data maintenance activities.
