FOREWORD

0.1 This

Indian Standard
( First Revision ) was adopted by the Indian
Standards Institution
on 25 October 1972, after the draft .finalized by the
Refractories
Sectional Committee
had been approved
by the Structural
and Metals Division CounciI.

0.2 This standard was first published in 1960. In view of the experience
gained since then, the Sectional Committee
decided to revise this standard.
The main modification
made in this revision is the deletion of the requirements for spalling resistance and silica content from the standard.
0.3 This standard contains clause 3.1.1 which calls for agreement
the purchaser and the manufacturer.
