Baylee: “Are you really wearing that?

Baylee my 15 year old sister is all about fashion, and I can’t stand tha
t about her because she’s always complaining about my outfits. Yeah I wear T-shi
rts, jeans, and tennis shoes, so what we can’t all wear mini-skirts, tanks, and
heals. I’m all for staying warm and dry. My sister and I are going to live with
our dad for a while. Our dad lives in the wettest place in the continental U.S.-
Forks Washington.
Me: “Yes, I plan on staying dry and warm, it’s not all about fashion.”
Baylee: “Pa-lezze Bella its not gonna be that cold… will it?”
Me: “Oh that’s right you’ve never been here. But yes its very cold and rains alm
ost every day.”
Baylee: “Omg, I’ve got some shopping to do.”
Me: “Baylee it’s a small town there is no mall, if you want to shop you’ll have
to drive to another town, and seeing how you’re not able to drive and the fact t
hat you have no car I don’t think that will be happening.”
Baylee: “Why did I do this again?”
Me: “Because it made mom unhappy to stay home.”
My mother is re-married - well has been for 15 years- to a great guy nam
ed Phil, he’s a minor league baseball player. Our mother left Charlie-our fathe
r- when I was 2 and my mom was pregnant with Baylee. She met Phil a year later.
After talking with Baylee for a few weeks we decided to go live with Charlie for
a while because mom would have to stray home with us while Phil was playing, an
d mom tried not to show it but we could tell it made her un-happy.
Baylee: “Oh no!”
Me: “What?!”
Baylee: “I thought you were just kidding about the rain.”
I looked out the airport window and sure enough it was raining. I was ab
out to tell Baylee that it was her own fault for not bringing warm cloths, when
I glanced up and saw our dad- Chief Swan.
Me: “Hey dad”
Charlie: “Hey Bells, Baylee”
Baylee: “DAD- I have to go shopping
Charlie: “I would say you do. I figured Renee would have told you about the weat
her.”
Baylee: “She didn’t say anything, she cried the whole way.”
Charlie: “Well that doesn’t surprise me, anyway… you both look great.”
“Thanks” Baylee and I said at the same time. I of course was embarrassed, but Ba
ylee on the other hand…
Baylee: “I got this at Hollister, and this from American Eagle”
Charlie: “Ha you’re gonna have the hardest time living here.”
Me: “Of course she is”
Charlie: “Baylee its nice to have you back to normal.”
Baylee: “its nice to be back, and dad I’m sorry about when you came over the las
t time.
Charlie: “That’s all in the past, now let’s go. Ya’ll have school tomorrow.”
About five months ago Baylee went through something, no one is sure what
it was. She fell and got the craziest looking scar on her leg. She had to go to
the hospital for that. We don’t really know how she got hurt, she doesn’t reall
y remember much. All she knows is that she was walking in an alley by herself -
which was really stupid on her part - and then someone called the house and I an
swered the phone and the hospital said that they had found my sister. Of course
I was scared to death so I just ran the whole way falling a lot but still I ran
the whole way and it took me forever to get there and I still hadn’t called my m
om. I finally did and she had the same reaction as me- well she didn’t run the w
hole way but the panic was the same. She only stayed the night but when she came
home she was so depressed, it looked as if she were…mourning if I had to descri
be it. It was like she had lost her soul mate but she wasn’t even dating anyone
at that time. So one day dad shows up to take her to forks so she could maybe st
art over, help her get back on track, but instead she threw the biggest fit I ev
er did see. She finally got better about a month ago so then I convinced her to
come to fork on her own will, but it’s still a mystery on what happened.
Charlie’s house was exactly how I remembered it. A small two-bedroom, on
e bath house. Even my room was how I remembered it, well except for the bunks-be
ds where my crib used to be. The rocking chair my parents would rock me in was s
till facing the window.
Me: “Wow it’s exactly the same”
Charlie: “Ya; Baylee, Bella can show you where everything is if you need help.”
Baylee: “Kay, I call top bunk!”
Me: “What ever if you fall off I’m just going to laugh.”
“Beep, beep, beep”
Me: “What’s that?”
Charlie: “Your homecoming present- sorry Baylee I thought I would buy you one ne
xt month, I know that you don’t have the same style Bella has.”
Me: “Cha-Dad, you didn’t have to do this I was going to buy my own car.
Charlie: “Come on let’s go look at it.”
This truck was perfect, a Chevy truck, a faded red color, it reminded me
of the type of vehicle you would see in a wreck only to have a little scratch a
nd next to a car no even able to start.
Me: “I love it dad thanks!”
Charlie: “You’re welcome. Your remember Billy Black right Bells?”
Me: “Of course”
Billy Black was my dad’s best friend still is I guess. He was in the pas
senger seat and someone I didn’t recognize was driving. Charlie went around to h
elp Billy out, apparently since my last visit his legs finally gave out- he was
in a wheelchair.
Charlie: “You already know Bella, and this is Baylee”
Baylee: “Hi, its nice to meet you”
Billy: “Are you sure you’re Charlie’s kid?”
Baylee: “I look more like my mom and Bella looks more like my dad.”
This is true me and Baylee are complete opposites. She has dirty blonde
hair and ocean blue eyes, and I have brown hair and brown eyes. It’s not just ap
pearance but almost everything, she is coordinated, I’m not. She can sing like a
n angel and I sound like a dying animal.
Billy: “Well this is my son Jacob.”
Charlie: “I’m gonna act like I didn’t see you behind the wheel Jake.- Jake is yo
ur age Bella.
Jacob: “We get our license early in the rez”
Me: Jacob Black; is that really you? The last time I saw you, you wee missing yo
ur front teeth.”
Baylee: “ha-ha- sorry but that was really funny, hey since Bella has a truck can
we go to the mall?”
We all really tried hard to fight back laughter but it was just to hard.
I could see that Baylee had thought I was kidding about the “no mall” thing.
Me: “Baylee I wasn’t kidding about the no mall earlier just like I wasn’t kiddin
g abut the rain.
Baylee: “I’m never going to make it here!”

“BANG, BANG, BANG”

Me: “Baylee get out of the bathroom your hair looks fine!”
Baylee: “Quit whining I’m almost done. You know if you had to curl your hair you
’d feel the same way!”
Me: “If you’re not out in five seconds I’m getting Charlie!”
Baylee: “Gawd; Their I’m out. Are you happy?”
Me: “ Ecstatic”
Baylee: “Great, now bite me.”
We pulled in the lot next to the building named “OFFICE.” We had gotten
there rather early their was only a few cars in the student parking lot. I could
tell where I parked was off limits but I thought it would be ok for now.
I looked over and saw that Baylee had on black leggings, a white mini sk
irt, red boots, and a strapless red Hollister shirt, I hope this school doesn’t
have a dress code. I also noticed that she had a leather jacket on that was four
sizes to big.
Me: “Who’s jacket are you wearing?”
Baylee: “Charlie’s, he said until I had a warm jacket I could wear his old one.”
Me: “You’d better hope that the dress code isn’t very enforced, cause I’m not go
nna take you home in the middle of the day to change.”
Baylee: “I’m sure it won’t be, now come on I don’t want to be caught dead in the
truck.”
We went into the office where their was three desks behind the counter.
Behind one of the desks was a large, red-haired woman wearing glasses. She was w
earing a purple T-shirt which made me feel over dressed-I was in an American Eag
le shirt I had borrowed from Baylee- when I looked over at Baylee she knew she w
ould be the best dressed. The red-haired woman look up.
Lady: Can I help you two?”
Me: “I’m Isabella Swan and this is Rorrie Morgan.”
Baylee and I are full sisters it’s just since she has been around Phil t
he most he adopted her and she took his last name, she really hates her first na
me so she just goes by her middle name. It’s funny because my mom didn’t plan fo
r us to have matching names. She was supposed to call me Isabella and call Bayle
e, Rorrie, but I hated the name Isabella it sounded like someone who was an eleg
ant ice princess and I was far from that. Baylee hated her name just because she
thought her middle name was so pretty. Which it is but I still thought that her
first name was pretty.
The look in the lady’s eye gave it away- everyone was expecting us, goss
ip no doubt.
Lady: “Oh; of course. Here are your schedules and a map of the school.”
She gave us each a slip of paper that our teachers needed to sign, and t
old us to bring it back to her after school. We smiled and headed out. This time
when we looked at the student lot it was full of students and cars.
I pulled in the first spot open. At our old school it was typical that y
ou would see a new Mercedes or a Porsche in the lot. But at Forks the nicest car
there was a shinny silver Volvo- it stood out.
Baylee: “So much for no one seeing me in this truck.”
Me: “I’m sorry its not the limo you wanted but I hate flashy cars.”
Baylee: “I know, and Mustang.”
Me: “What? You’ve lost me.”
Baylee: “I want a mustang not a limo.”
Me: “Shut up Baylee!”
Baylee: “What, I’ll be sixteen next month
Me: “Believe me I’m aware of that you’ve only reminded me of it for the last yea
r or so.”
Baylee: “And you won’t forget it will ya?- Good luck today, I’ll meet you here a
fter school.”
Me: “Ok, good luck to you too”
Baylee: “Please like I need luck.”
She pulled down her shirt and pulled up her skirt. Then she was opening
the door.
Me: “I swear you’re just begging for the nickname ‘slut’”

As Baylee and I were walking through the halls together everyone was sta
rring at us- great
Me: “Do we heave any classes together?”
Baylee: “Bella, I’m a sophomore, you’re a junior.”
Me: “So, just let me see your schedule- ha, we have last period together.”
Baylee: “Really?! Oh no its gym- sucks for you.”
Me: “Hardy-har-har”
Baylee: “Just speaking the truth I’m the sporty one in the family and you’re the
um, um-
Me: “I’m the wha-
I’ve bumped into someone and fallen down. it’s a boy he’s skinny, with b
lue eyes, and neat blond spiky hair. I noticed he still had a little bit of baby
face, rounded sort of face.
Me: “Ouch- are you ok, I’m really sorry
Kid: “It’s no problem, I mean you’re the one who fell. Your Isabella Swan right
?”
Me: “Just Bella, and this is Baylee”
Kid: “Oh, he I- um-I’m, um M-Mike Newton.”
He was basically drawling over Baylee and not just her but me too. This
was going to be a long day- could feel it.
Mike: “Baylee what grade are you in?”
Baylee: “10th”
Mike: “Oh and Bella you’re in 11th grade with me right?”
Me: “Right.”
Mike: “If you want I could show you where your classes are.”
Me: “Thanks, that would be great.”
Mike: “Ok, Baylee sorry I can’t show you where your classes are but I could find
someone to.”
Baylee: “That’s ok I think I can find someone by myself- CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIND
MY CLASSES?”
After this I turned the color of a tomato. Everyone came running- mostly
guys but some girls. All she had time to say while they were dragging her away
to class was “See you at lunch Bella, save me a seat- love you.”
Me: “I’m sorry about that, she can be pretty um what’s the word um-”
Mike: “Outspoken.”
Me: “That’s it, thanks.”
Mike: “Well really I don’t think she is. She’s well-”
Me: “Really hot? Ya I know I get that a lot. Everyone wanting to come over just
to get to know her. It’s really annoying.”
Mike: “Well yes she is very pretty- you both are.- I’m sorry this is your first
day and I’m freaking you out.”
Me: “No, it’s fine. It’s just a little weird you thinking I’m hot, I mean with B
aylee I hear it all the time.”
Mike: “Really no one’s told you that? Well then their blind. You’re very pretty.

With my face red and looking down I asked were history was.
History was fine, I got a seat in the back- next to Mike and a girl wit
h long brown hair and green eyes. I’d forgotten her name, but I think it started
with a J or something.
Next was English, they were talking about Hamlet- I’ve already read it s
o I understood everything. The girl who’s name I now remembered Jessica had all
classes with me except for biology- which I had with Mike.
As the bell for lunch rang Jessica and I walked t the door to meet Mike,
and like this morning- well all day- everyone stared.
Me: “Do you mind if my sister sits with us?”
Jessica: “Um sure, is that her?”
Of course it was her. She’s surrounded by people, again mostly guys. T l
ooks like their pushing each other to stand next to her. I saw Jessica give me o
ne of those ‘are you serious’ looks.”
Me: “Ya that’s her. Sorry she’s always got to be the center of attention.”
Jessica: “It’s like first grade all over again. You two are the shinny new toys.

Baylee: “No thanks you guys I’m gonna sit here, thanks.- Hey Bella.”
Me: “Hey, this is Jessica, Mike, and um- I’m sorry I forgot your name.”
Girl: “It’s Angila and this is Lauren, Conner, and Eric.”
Me: “Ya that’s them- sorry it’ll take me a while to remember your names.”
Eric: “That’s fine.”
Me: “Common Baylee let’s go get something to eat.”
Baylee: “Good I’m starving.”
As we got our food and sat down I noticed a group of kids entering the c
afeteria. They weren’t like the other kids they were gorgeous, all of them.
Their were three girls and three boys. All of them were gorgeous. Of the
three girls the prettiest one had long blonde hair to her waist. The other had
dark brown, short spiky hair. She was about my height. The last girl only looked
thirteen or fourteen but still very pretty with her snow blonde hair to her sho
ulders.
The boys were extremely handsome. One had dark curly hair and big-big mu
scles. Another had shaggy dirty blonde hair and he too had big muscles, but not
as big as the first. The last boy was the handsomest of all he had bronze hair,
he wore it slightly messy, but it looked good.
Me: “Who are they?”
I asked Jessica nodding toward them.
Jessica: “That’s the Cullen kids.”
Baylee: “You mean they’re all related?!”
Angila: “Hard to believe isn’t it? Well there not blood related, except Rosalie
and Jasper they’re twins.”
Me: “Who?”
Jessica: “Ok look- Dr. Cullen is a foster dad I don’t think his wife can get pre
gnant.
“The really petty blonde girl with the long blonde hair is Rosalie Hale.
Now do you see the big dark haired guy? That’s Emmett Cullen, he and Rosalie ar
e like a ‘thing’ I’m not even sure if that’s legal.”
Angila: “You know their not actually related they just live together.- Oh, and t
he little dark haired girl that’s Alice Cullen. She’s with Jasper Hale, the blon
de boy.
Baylee: “Oh! Rosalie and Jasper are blood brother and sister.”
Angila: “Yes.”
Me: “What about the other two?”
Jessica: “The girl is Dr. Cullen’s biological daughter from a previous marriage,
her name is Cally.”
Mike: “The guy’s Edward Cullen. Myself I don’t like him he’s self- absorbed.”
Jessica: “He is not.”
Mike: “You just think he’s cute.”
Baylee: “How old are they?”
Angila: “Emmett, Rosalie, and Jasper are Seniors. Edward and Alice are Juniors,
and Cally is a freshman.”
Mike: “I think we should get to class. You coming Bella?”
Me: “Sure- see you in gym Baylee.”
As we walked into biology I saw Edward Cullen in the class. Though I won
’t admit it to anyone, I think he’s really cute. He’s like the prince charming i
n every girls dream.
When I was giving the teacher the note, a gust of wind blew over me when
I looked up Edward gave me the most scariest death look I’ve ever had. How coul
d someone give me that look when they don’t even know me? Worst the teacher is
making me sit with him.
Me: “Hi.”
Edward: “He-He- Hello.”
As the teacher started talking I could see in the corner of my eye he wa
s staring a whole through me. I used my hair to put a wall between us but it did
n’t help. Finally the bell rang and when I looked over to get my books he was al
ready out the door.
Mike: “Wow, did you poke Cullen with a pencil or something? I’ve never seen him
act like that.”
Me: “No I didn’t poke him, or at least I don’t think I did.”
Mike: “Oh well he’s a freak- if I sat by you I wouldn’t act like that.”
Me: “Umm, thanks?”
Mike: “Let’s go to gym.”
Me: “I have to find Baylee first.”
Mike: “Ok I’ll help, but we should hurry.”
Me: “She can’t be that hard to find, just find the heard of guys and she’ll be i
n the middle.”
Mike: “I found the heard.”
Me: “BAYLEE! GET OVER HERE!”
Baylee: “COMING!- Bye you guys, call me later.”
Me: “Quit flirting- we have to get to gym.”
Baylee: “Shut up- hey Mike.”
Mike: “Hey.”
Me: “We have to get to gym you guys- lets go
Gym was well- hard for me at least. We had to play volley ball. They spl
it the gym floor in half one side for the boys and one side for the girls. I end
ed up serving ( or tried to) the ball and ended up hitting five of my teammates
in the backs and then I hit mike in the back of the head.
Baylee was really good,- big shock- she was on my team and the only one
who didn’t give me a dirty look after the game, well mike didn’t.
Me: “We have to go turn in those slips they gave us.”
Baylee: “Ok- bye Mike, bye Jessica.”
Jessica: “Bye you guys call me later- Mike can you give me a ride home? My car i
s in the shop.”
Mike: “Ok , sure. Bye Bella.”
Me: “Bye.”
Baylee: “Do you think Jessica likes Mike?”
Me: “Totally obvious, but I think that Mike-”
Baylee: “Likes you- a lot.”
Me: “I was hoping no one would notice- mainly Jessica. I don’t want to make her
upset.”
Baylee: “Do you like any of the Cullen kids?”
Before I could answer I could hear someone talking loudly inside the fro
nt office. He wasn’t yelling, but trying to keep from yelling. As I opened the d
oor I could see who it was - Edward Cullen.
Edward: “Their has to be something open.”
Mrs. Cope: “I’m sorry dear I have nothing open you’ll have to stay in biology.”
Edward: “Thank you for your help. I can see there is no way possible for you to
help me. Have a good evening. Good bye.”
Edward ran out the door, bumping into me and Baylee as he left.
Mrs. Cope: “Hello girls did you have a good day?”
Baylee: “Yes, we did.”
Me: “Here are our slips.”
Mrs. Cope: “Thanks, bye.”
“Bye” Baylee and I said at the same time
Baylee: “Let’s go home, I have English homework.”
Me: “Your worst subject.”
Baylee: “And your best- will you help me with it?”
Me: “Depends- so how many numbers did you get today?”
Baylee: “A lot… so you never answered my question. Do you like any of the Cullen
’s?”
Me: “NO!- Do you?”
Baylee: “Not really, I mean they’re ok but not as cute as everyone thinks they a
re. To tell the truth I actually have a bad feeling when I’m around them.- I thi
nk you’re lying though.”
Me: “Huh?”
Baylee: “About liking the Cullen’s I saw you staring at them all through lunch.
My guess is you like Edward. I think Edward Because, well that’s who you were lo
oking or should I say staring at.”
Me: “Do not!… Well maybe, I mean I used to , but now I’m sort of mad at him.”
I told Baylee about biology and wanting to get his schedule changed.
Me: “So tomorrow I plan to confront him and ask him what his problem is.”
Baylee: “I guess Mike was right he is a freak.”
Me: “Maybe.”
When we got home I helped Baylee with her homework. After that we made s
upper, cheese enchiladas- that was all that was in the house. Then Charlie came
home. He has the same routine as the last time I was here-takes off his shoes, h
angs up his coat, and hangs up his gun. The only thing different is last time he
took out the bullets from his gun and now he just makes sure the safety’s on. I
guess he decided Baylee and I were old enough not to accidentally shoot ourselv
es in the head.
Charlie: “Something smells amazing.”
Baylee: “Oh hey dad. How was work?”
Charlie: “Slow, as usual.”
Me: “Since when is that ever a bad thing?”
Charlie: “I guess you’re right.”
Baylee: “Foods ready!”
We ate in silence for a while, then-
Charlie: “How was school? Did you meet anyone?”
Me: “Well, let’s see- before first period started I ran into this kid named Mike
and I fell down.”
Charlie: “Well then- is that Mike Newton?”
Baylee: “Ya, he’s really nice.”
Me: “He is really nice and so is Jessica and Angila.”
Charlie: “Jessica (insert last name here) and Angila Webber. Good kids, they hav
e some nice parents.”
Baylee: “What about the Cullen kids? Do you know there parents?”
