Sometimes you have to go into the entanglement and pull out what you
need
A small spider simultaneously captured my attention and its prey as I sat
in a rocking chair on my aunts front porch under the blue Carolina skies.
About the exact time, I was pondering on a thought provoking and life
changing question posed in Part 2 of this book.
In the midst of my pondering, I escaped the intended thought to focus on
the spider as it continued to tangle its very much alive prey in its web. I
began to wonder if I was going to see the prey unwind itself. As I purposed
my focus on the captivity, my highlighter (that I really needed) rolled from
the left side of my lap, down the middle smack into another what seemed
to be a somewhat dated spider web adjacent to the rocking chair; it was
connected to the house and the small glass table on the porch. My much
needed highlighter rested gently on the porch allwell, webby.

I watched my only highlighter roll into the spider web and thought
Ewww, I dont want to reach my hand in that web. And then God spoke.
Its funny because after praying for several days for the precise words
needed to deliver the just right message to solidify the intent of this
book, He used the word entanglement along with a couple of diagrams
to help me understand what I would be saying and how I should say the
intended message.
Before I continue, I want to thank my husband Terrance Kelley, of whom
I have been married to for 11 years for allowing me to be candid.
About a year ago, (like other married couples who have reached a bump
in their marriage) I wanted a divorce from my husband. Time surpassed
and my thoughts changed. We moved on to the next chapter of our
marriage of what my husband entitled as Starting Over. A year passed,
and some other issues arose to the surface and I found myself chanting the
same words and I said to myself that I have just had all that I could take.
I had grown spiritually and I desired for my husband to grow at the same
steady pace as I had grown. But, my husband was not quite there yet and
he not being there with me spiritually raised a lot of concerns for me as
a wife due to some life choices and decisions that he had made. Several
months prior, my husband and I received an invitation to attend his
cousins wedding in North Carolina, and a couple of months after that I
connected with the authors of this book, James and Natasha to conduct the
proofreading and editing. They briefed me on the book, but never went
into explicit detail of the contents. After, discussing the project I printed
the manuscript and started the proofing. As I began reading Part I of the

book, my perspective on life, love, spirituality and marriage began to

entangle itself with James and Natashas perspective.

I even began

thanking God for setting up and ordaining the instances leading towards
this opportunity as James nor Natasha had no idea of my personal matters.
However, during the perspective entanglement I found my perspective
hung in captivity just like the spiders prey, and facing my very dated web
of marital challenges. See, just like that dated web that my highlighter
fell in, I didnt want to stick my hands into that web and grab what I really
neededmy husband. He was covered in webs of fault and accusations,
yet I needed to reach in and pick him up as much as he needed me to want
to pick him up. In 1 Corinthians 7: 14 it says that the unbelieving husband
is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the
husband. And, in Matthew 7: 1 it says judge not, that ye be not judged.
To sum it up, God used this book to reveal that my husband and I are one,
and that when either of us notices each others weaknesses, we should be
in heavy prayer and fasting. I also understand that no matter how strong I
think I am, my husband is still the priest of my home and prayer can go
places I will never be able to enter.
In this book, I laughed. I cried. I pondered and I was in a daze as I
considered the words of James, and tested the words of Natasha. I went
from desiring another divorce to starting sentences with my husband that
began like Babe let me ask you something, and How do you feel
aboutand What are your thoughts about. These are questions that I
have always asked him, but this time it was from a James and Natasha
perspective.

Charging myself to respect my husband as the priest of our home instead

of analyzing and making known his weaknesses inside my heart all
stemmed from reading this book. I earnestly learned to think with him
as uniquely defined by James and told by Natasha in later chapters. I
rediscovered that I have power in praying for my husband to make a sound
decision in what I consider life changing destinations. This book will
cause you to pay special attention to your spouse or spouse - to - bes
thoughts as a man or as a woman. James and Natasha have willingly
allowed God to use them to be open and honest as they led us inside their
hearts and mind.
This book is one that carries weight as they have measured their entire
relationship with the Word of God. My spiritual father, Pastor Brian
Thomas and my spiritual mother, Evangelist Shameka Thomas taught me
that words are nothing if its not weighted with the Word of God. This
book carries the weight needed to sustain marriages and to also prepare
those considering marriage in any stage of their journey.

This quote epitomizes the relationship of James and Natasha

Roach. We have had the privilege to observe the two of them
bring forth the greatness from each other. In marriage and in
all relationships, this is what we should seek from those we
are connected to. Additionally, we firmly believe that much of
our purpose as husbands and wives are to introduce the world
to the gifts and talents of our spouse. We are honored to bear
witness to the greatness that is in James and Natasha Roach.
It is our prayer that through their story, you will see a glimpse

of marriage, Minister James and Mrs. Natasha Roach attended
Pre-Marital Counseling Sessions which were facilitated by us
at New Hope Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi under the
auspices of Dr. Jerry Young. We were quite impressed by their
spiritual maturity, strong bond and stamina to study God's
Holy Word in order to sustain their marriage. We are proud to

I was blessed to meet Mr. Roach over 10 years ago thru a

business venture, when the person I was trying to hire referred
me to him for a church project that I was going to be
completing. As a result of that working encounter, he not only
became a business partner, but he became a son. Mr. Roach
was always very mild mannered and just plan nice. Hes
always been reliable and dependable. I knew there was a call
on his life prior to knowing that he had indeed accepted his

story has inspired me; having gone thru a difficult divorce
myself, to look for the friend first, and love will follow. Thank
