- students may not understand the use of the past perfect
Solutions to problems:
- teacher should explain by giving as many examples as necessary
Past Tense
Teacher groups the students in pairs and asks them to read the text previously listened to
and put the events in the right column on the bb.
Students work.
Interaction: student-student, teacher-students
Aim: to make students aware of the differences that exist between the two tenses before
introducing the rule.
After that the teacher elicits the form of past perfect as well as when it is used.

Aim: to give the exact rule of the structure

Practice
In order to insure the understanding of the newly acquired grammatical structures, the
teacher instructs the students to do some fixed drills. Students do ex 10 p 56

Production
Teacher separates the class in groups of 3 and gives them the following task: Imagine
that you are a student at the university and that you didnt go home in a long time. When
you arrive home you see a lot of changes in the house. Make sentences presenting those
changes. For example: Mum had thrown out the furniture in the living room.
Interaction: students-students
Aim: to practice the structure in an open exercise

Evaluation
Students read the sentences. Teacher checks and makes the necessary corrections.
