1) Earth people resettled on planet that denies technology.

(some aura or force disables anything

above steam power level tech.)
2) Planet is Gliese 581G, 4th planet orbiting a red dwarf star, named Mercy by Commander Bennett
the man whom leads the mission, after the wife of the scientist that finally confirmed its
existence
3) World has something called the weave, a force similar to magic, that can be controlled by force
of will alone
4) When the travelers that survive the crash awaken, they begin the process of figuring out what
works and what doesn't
5) Scientist suggests something about the planets unique structure prevents the use of any
electronic device.
6) Settlers led by a man named Commander Bennett, Older 50ish gentlemen, partially
handicapped, good attitude, Politician and ex military officer
7) Crude devices created for defense, party selected for exploration while around 5000 people that
survived begin the process of building a settlement
8) Exploration crew contains Jerrod - ex soldier, Davis Botanist, Tsung Chi Xeno Biologist,
Cheri Geologist, Aasiyah Linquist and Anthropologist, Ardon Ex Soldier, Christian Priest
9) Settlement is named Anastasium (aka the resurrection)

Planet
Planet is approximately 3x the size of earth. There are only 3 large continental masses and at the
present time no signs of any modern civilization (this will be tested and found untrue later) Biomes on
planet are mostly Forested with most environments common to the initial setting being similar to
Washington state. The Flora and Fauna is similar to Earth but has many startling differences.
Tangler Trees Trees that present a series of roots that are feelers Once they rub up against a body
that gives off heat they will quickly exude a thick sap that glues the victim to the tangler root , the root
will then roll up the victim and emit a neurotoxin through the sap that paralyzes the victim allowing for
slow digestion and absorption.
Hell Chutes Natural vents that exude noxious gas and a can at times produce super condensed steam
with acid intermixed from the planets core
Water is found to be clean in appearance, passes baseline tests that are able to be ran but is also filled
with the weave, so slowly begins changing the people that drink it in scary but miraculous ways
Ruins of different civilizations dot the landscape. It is soon evident that the humans are not alone on
this world, though no signs of anything resembling space level tech are evident. One set of ruins near
base of mountain shows amazing engineering feats not thought possible with primitive tech.
Green Men Beings that are part mammal part plant, similar in ideaology to fantasy elves begin at first
stealthily spying on humans. Originally were more humanoid but in order to avoid the Kratari they
used their ability with the weave to meld with the plants they coveted so much. They also leave small
gifts outside Anastasium, which are misunderstood and avoided (even burnt in one case)

Dwagi Small race of Mountain Dwellers, Hairless except for eye brows and arm hair, very fair
skinned, excellent craftsmen, can stone talk (causes stone to shape or part however they want)
peacefully coexist with Green Men, though the live seperately. Dwagi were once slaves to another race
on the planet, the venomous Kratari
Kratari Insect/lizard hybrid, with 6 appendages, regeneration, scales and hard carapaces as well as
night vision. They are the dominant species due to their aggressive hunting nature. The Green Men
avoid them using the weave, and the Dwagi have become militarized themselves to fight the Kratari.
Draks Tree dwelling lizards, able to blend in with their surroundings. Used as mounts but the Green
Men, and later by humans, these lizards are herbivores. Their camo extends to their riders.
Mercy questions answered:
1) Why did man leave earth. It was the 2230, man has turned earth into a environmental
nightmare in the 21st century that only years of careful management has been able to reverse.
With overcrowding in the civilized areas, even careful measures were not enough to ensure we
did not use up what natural resources we were able to renew. The plan came to find other
habitable planets with colony ships and establish rudimentary colonies, to both support the
mother planet earth and reduce the population of overcrowded areas. In the case of Merro it
was the 3rd colony ship to be sent out.
2) Were they forced to leave or selected They were selected out of the most populated areas,
across all cultural groups. All colonist went through a year long boot camp to prepare them
for hostile environments, and giving training believed to be sufficient for survival in a primeval
setting. It was not even close to enough.
3) In the 23rd Century there is little to no bloodshed After the unification wars of the 22nd
century in which a one world government was established, all lethal weapons were removed
and man has gotten use to eating Synth Cubes. Synth Cubes are designed specifically to
accommodate pleasure centers in humans and give all the basic nutrition needed for survival
while maintaining a low calorie diet. (there are also certain pacifiers placed inside the cubes to
ensure certain behavioral standards) When the ship crashes a good supply of these are lost as
well as the synth machines no longer working, forcing the crew members to forage for food
(and removing the prozac like effects) As such while martial arts are still practiced and self
defense encouraged amongst the soldiers, they carry no lethal devices, and the stun devices they
carry do not work.
4) The Weave responds to the humans slowly, manifesting in a few in the form of explosive
abilities as their emotions become more volatile then before. Aasiyah is the first to gain any
kind of control after contact with the Green Men whom essence talk with her. Bennett is
handicapped partially on the right side due to a childhood ailment but after consuming some of
the water of the planet he is healed
5) The Weave is a pervasive life force that binds all things on Mercy together. The Weave is
touchable by some inhabitants (not the Kratari) as well as some of the humans, manifesting
itself as magic in human eyes, though working more like telekinesis or telepathy. Mercy seeks
to bind all things together for a more harmonious balance, and some of the colonists fit its
requirements, others will feel its presence at first but as Synth Cubes run out and more normal
human emotions develop they will lose touch with the weave in part. Later it will be found
humans like green men require certain rites and meditation to wield the weave, though a select
few like Aasiyah will use it pretty easily.

Fire shot over the cone of the Anastasium, licking up the sides hungrily, as if it would devour
the entire ship. Commander Bennett paced nervously back and forth, the claxon of alarms signaling
their entry into Gliese 581G upper atmosphere. Swirling greens and blues lit up the viewport,
disperesed by soft white clouds, much like Earth. So far the initial readings of Oxygen, Nitrogen,
Argon and Carbon Dioxide were scrolling across the heads up display in slightly elevated but not
dangerously so levels.
What is our altitude upon contact with atmosphere Lieutenant? Commander Bennett called
out loudly.
We encountered atmospheric pressures beginning at 131 KM from suspected landmass
Commander Lt. Zolnerowich intoned slightly higher altitude then earth's Krmn line, sir
Hold present course 45% grade entry, then level off at 100 KM for surface scans so we can
pick our landing site Bennett said striding forward to grasp his chair, turning it to the side.
Suddenly the ship lurched as if it had smashed into something, Commander Bennett was thrown to the
floor like a bad space opera from Earth's old tele-videos of the 20th century. Instrument panels lit up
with arcs of greenish blue electricity cascading over the surface, some of them traveling up the arms of
crew members, yet causing no apparent discomfort. The smell of ozone wafted through the bridge, and
Commander Bennett struggled to grab his chair and pull himself up. The viewport screen crackled on
and off, hissing and popping sounds coming out of the comlink speakers. Bennett gripping the arm of
his chair with a white knuckled grip pulled himself up and over, dragging his weaker right side along
like it had fallen asleep.
Slamming buttons down to conference Engineering, he was greeted with a static hiss and his own
explosion of blue and green energy coursing through his torso. Oddly he felt no pain. Whatever this
strange energy source it appeared to only effect the electronics and not organic matter.
Lt. Simmons, what the hell is going on. What did we hit? Bennett yelled
That's just it sir, we didn't hit anything, and the last reading I got before it went haywire registered
nothing abnormal! Now I ...well sir I got nothing, its like the sensor system has shorted out
The lights flashed on and off and suddenly all was black. No alarms, no sounds beyond muted cries of
crew members and the creaking of metal as the frame of the ship seemed to shift
