Status: Part-time (15-20 hours/week); unpaid internship; college-credit only

Mission: Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the premier global organization dedicated to the
critical issues unique to young women with breast cancer. YSC works with survivors, caregivers
and the medical, research, advocacy and legislative communities to increase the quality and
quantity of life for women diagnosed with breast cancer ages 40 and under.
YSC offers resources, connections, and support so women feel empowered and hopeful during
one of the most challenging experiences of their lives. We believe no woman under 40 should be

Education: Must be in the process of pursuing either a Bachelors or Masters degree in a related
field of study (i.e. non-profit management, marketing, public relations, communications,
hospitality, public policy, etc.)
Position Overview: YSC is seeking an intern who will assist the Events Associate in the Atlanta
office with YSCs top fundraiser, Tour de Pink and third party fundraising. Interns will gain
event management and peer-to-peer fundraising management experience, as well as insight of
how a nonprofit development department runs. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled in university and receiving college credit for internship
An interest in our organization's mission, as well as in events management, fundraising
and/or nonprofit administration/management
Some exposure to implementation of events (desired)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent project management skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint creation
Basic research skills
Social media knowledge, preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt easily to multiple and changing
priorities and responsibilities
Must work well both autonomously and in a team environment; team player with
willingness to support others and their ideas
Have reliable transportation to and from office
Must supply personal computer
Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and be a dependable member of the
Development Team
YSCs Internship Program: YSC interns will have the opportunity to gain first-hand
knowledge and experience in a growing health nonprofit. Supervisors are matched with interns
professional interests to provide support. Interns are also invited to attend the organizations
Lunch and Learn series or any public webinars YSC offers. Internships are unpaid and for
college credit only. Internship schedule can be flexible to class schedules.
