Finding the Installation Directory <install_ directory>

Most tutorials use files that are located in the tutorials/ directory of the software installation. In the tutorials, file
paths are referenced as <install_directory>/../. In order to locate the files needed, you will need to
determine the path of the installation directory <install_directory>. This path is dependent on the installation
that was performed at your site. To determine what this path is, follow these instructions:
1.

Launch the application.

2.

From the Help menu, select Updates.

The HyperWorks Update Information dialog opens. The installation directory path appears after Altair Home:.
The HyperGraph 3D tutorial model files are located in <install_directory>/tutorials/mv_hv_hg.

Line Plots
Defining Line Plots - HG3D-3000
In this tutorial, you will learn how to:

Create line plots from a file

Create line plots using a math expression

Tools
The Define Curve panel can be accessed one of the following ways:

From the toolbar, click the Define Curves icon,

Or

From the Plot menu, click Define Curves

The Define Curves panel enables you to edit existing curves and create new ones. New data can be selected from a
source file, mathematically defined using the program's curve calculator, or entered as values. The options in the
panel change depending on which source is selected. If the source chosen is Math, the panel looks as shown below:

The Curve list displays the names of all curves in the active window. Curves can be renamed, added, cut, copied,
and pasted using the curve list controls.
