PhD Thesis
This project involves the hardware implementation of the multi-modal biometric system, in resourcesconstrained embedded systems, possesses great challenges. Although there has been a substantial amount of
work on combining different biometrics for a variety of purposes, not much work has focused on the hardware
implementation of the multi-modal modal biometric system. The basic aim of this project is to implement
different multi-modal biometric techniques on FPGA's and to find out an optimized solution for future
biometric applications. The goal of this project is to develop a fast processor for a multi-modal biometric system
for different design approaches. This hardware implementation of multi-modal biometric will act as a reference

site for future customers and will determine the rate of adoption of multi-modal solutions. The success of this
project would prompt new customers to implement these solutions.

I have more than five year of experience in MATLAB/C++. I have developed several MATLAB based
system during these five years e.g. Human Identification Using Iris Scanning, Human Verification Using
Face recognition and Fingerprint. All the projects were MATLAB based except CCD Camera Based Optical
Tracking for Human Computer Interface, which was mixed with C sharp and MATLAB.
